Wedding Card

A card a made for a couple who were married last Friday. 

My own design but I used my Zing cutting machine to cut it all out.

Baby Cardigans and Vintage Sewing Machine

Two baby cardigans I knitted late last year. I've not done any knitting for years so I was quite pleased with the outcome. And they fit him [my grandson] .......but not for long I think.

My daughter found a vintage Singer sewing machine in a cupboard. We thought it was a table at first, the machine was tucked under and folds out. It is VERY heavy.

Handmade Stamps

I recently bought a cutting machine, a KNK Zing Air. One of the first things I cut was fun foam to make some stamps. The birds were images I found on the web, the rabbit and frog with snail were drawings from my sketchbook and the hare was from a photograph of some decorative architecture relief. I stuck the foam shapes to wood, cardboard and an old plastic card.

New Vibrant Swatch

Spoonflower have released a new fabric - cotton spandex jersey, suitable for sports wear, t-shirts etc.

I decided to print this vibrant design on it, created on my tablet.

This is what it would look like in repeat.

Denim Apron and Tiny Purses

 A denim apron I made from old jeans.

I made two purses from a 8"swatch of faux suede Spoonflower fabric, one of my designs. The pictures show both sides of each. I wanted a small purse to keep a credit card and a bit of loose change in but unfortunately these are a little too small. The credit card would fit in them, the problem is getting it in! 

Felt Animal Mobile

I made these animals in felt for a mobile for my grandson. 

I looked on the internet, in particular Pinterest for ideas.

O Dear

Altered Sweatshirt

I had a piece of fabric, one of my designs ..but wondered what to do with it. Then I thought it may be interesting to alter a sweatshirt with it and this is the result. I wonder what it will wash like....because it was hand stitched on. I had to shorten the shirt too because the fabric was not quite long enough.

Sewing

These are some items I made last year which I never told you about.

A crazy patchwork peg bag made from vintage fabrics with a long handle so that you can slip it over your shoulder while pegging.

I made two tote type bags out of some upholstery fabric I had in my drawer which will come in handy now that we have the bag charge in the shops.

I've not lined the bags as it is quite a thick material and its a nice yellow on the underside.

One is quite tall and slender the other is not as tall but wider.

The tissue holder was made from a fabric swatch from Woven Monkey UK

Swatch Quilt

A quilt made from some of my Spoonflower swatch samples. This one features patterns with animals, games, boats, houses and mittens.
