Faces, Lollypop Lady, Pendant and Brooch

Painted faces - their hats are found images, a crown, a plant pot, a vase and a kitchen pot.

This lollypop lady is made from an image of a real ice lollypop

I can't remember who these are 'supposed' to be! Does anybody recognize anyone?

SC- Patterns

I've chosen these pages from the ones remaining in sketchbook 19 for the sketchbook challenge of the month - patterns.
I have used watercolours and pens on all of them. The top has some found cherubs and there is textured folded artwork on the one below.

the iris is a found image

the text on the two below was torn from a print

More TAST 37

Another sample for the Take a stitch Tuesday challenge - pistil stitch
This is an ATC and it is made with two different fabrics woven together. It was inspired by the book by Anna Faustino called Simply Stunning Woven Quilts.
I've used pearl threads and sewn on beads around some of the knots.

TAST 37

Take a stitch Tuesday - Pistil Stitch
This is a variation of a French Knot which I have never done before, why not I ask myself as I love French Knots. It is written about in my stitch book under another name, but there are no pretty pictures to go with it, so that is probably why I have never done it.
A pistil is part of a flower, and I've used the stitch to make my version of alliums. I used cotton pearl threads, two shades on the lower picture, although the colours look very close. I used the stitch for the stalks too, although I wished I'd used a different shade of green.

Turquoise

Three Muses challenge - turquoise.
I like the colour turquoise.
The background was created digitally and the swirling pattern was paint - I made a stamp from wallpaper.

House and Tree Brooch, Sketchbook Pages

Another brooch - this one is made from textured fabrics, hand made felted tree and machine stitching. Available on Folksy.

The orange part of the book is textured paper.

I cut the shape of the bird from a coloured page in a magazine

The biscuits were in a magazine, I drew on eyes and mouths to make them look like faces.

The figures were shapes roughly cut from a magazine

WIP Flower Embroidery

I wasn't sure whether to include this in Take a stitch Tuesday or Work in progress Wednesday, either can be found on the pintangle site. It is work in progress but also includes some TAST embroidery stitches and this week is a catch up week on TAST. [we can create an interesting visual piece using 3-6 of the stitches already used]. The yellow stitches on the top right have been shown last week but the other yellow ones are new, a variation of sheaf stitch which we did last week. The purple are lazy daisy, the orange are French knots and ?, the blue are fly stitches.

The purple are fern stitch
and the orange ?- like two fly stitches joined together

All parts of a bigger piece which I will reveal at a later date.

Pages from Sketchbook 19

All the pages include texture transfer, watercolours, pen drawing and collage except the teddy bear which has no collage. All the pages have a dark section at the top right, this is just a shadow - it is difficult to get the pages totally flat to photograph.

The animals above were part of a greetings card which I altered

Fabric Design and Handmade Book

I did a project with the theme of games years ago at college and I still use the old drawings from them nowadays from time to time. I used a collage last week, something very similar to the one above. I have altered it a little and put it on Spoonflower as a fabric, not proofed yet so they won't sell it to you, but if anyone one wants to buy yardage let me know and I will arrange to get the proofing done.
Below is another handmade book I finished a while ago but forgot to post. All the pages are shown on the last two photos, click on them to see it more clearly. The pages are recycled books, laser prints, envelopes etc - all painted the same colour.

It seems that I am almost out of storage space for photos on blogger..... !?!
