Winter Wonderland

These are not recent photos, in fact they are from 2103 but we've had some snow falling over the last few days and it was a reminder of these snowy trees at Sunniside, Newcastle upon Tyne.
I think the snow has almost gone now in this part of the UK

Two Snowmen

black snow but a white snowman
or white snow and a black snowman

actually I have made snowmen when they have looked quite dark, when dirt has been rolled in the snow, by accident.

Altered Photos

Two altered photos, one of Molly in the snow and one of boats in Majorca.
I altered them using an app on my Galaxy Note.

Winter Wonderland

I met up with my arty friends today and we decided to go for a walk in the winter wonderland. They say we are in for the big melt soon, so we thought while it was looking so pretty we would go out.
I took these photos with my mobile phone, but I'm quite impressed; the mobile is just a cheap one so I was expecting them to be as good as this.

The Sketchbook Project [52,53]

I've just done a load of scanning, I didn't realise I had so many of The sketchbook project pages not done, so here is the first of the batch. One page I painted with gesso [the paper is so thin] and the other was stuck to the next. The sticking of two pages doesn't seem any better than the gesso, so I have gone back to doing that. It could be my sticking that is the problem, it's not flat. I also wonder if people will try to unstick the pages. The gesso has ruined some of my best pens so I've started using some old felt tips, gel pens and cheap supermarket brush pens which is what I have used for the above.
We have had more snow, I've never seen so much here before. I thought these planters looked like giant snow cupcakes.

People Book [35] & Snow

Yesterday I saw the first snow of the season, & I was expecting another small flurry overnight but the snow was quite deep this morning. My hubby informs me that the last time we had snow this early in the year was 17 years ago. It doesn't seem 2 minutes since the long heavy snows of last winter. The snow looked very pretty on the branches of the trees [see bottom picture]

Mythical Mail - page 5 Dr Foster & curly snow

Dr Foster went to Gloucester
In a shower of rain
He stepped in a puddle
right up to his middle
& never went there again

I thought I would also show these photos of the snow on my car windscreen, there wasn't a lot of it, but it had curled over & looked unusual [well I've never seen it do that anyway]. There is not much snow left anywhere else, just on my windscreen

Snowmen Sketches

My initial snowman sketch [above] which I altered [below] before doing the embroidery shown in my last post [Winter Wonderland]

Car window snowy scene

This [middle bit anyway] was the view through the mucky car window today travelling up the A1.

Knitted santa & snowman, snowman in snow

Knitted snowman & santa - these were made when the kids were small so probably about 20+ years old

I wanted a photo of a snowman [for artistic purposes, you understand] so I went out to build one [by myself, I'm still a kid at heart], but the snow was so crumbly it wouldn't hold together, so I just drew one in the snow instead with a trowel

Snowmen Applique

Another applique of snowmen. It started snowing here today, first I've seen here this winter, perhaps it's because I keep putting pictures of snowmen on my blog.
