Snake

Paper mache, pages from an old book were used for the top coat.

I've been in London over the weekend to see my daughter and son in law.

We were going to go to the London Museum yesterday but the rain was so heavy we decided not to. But the rain decided to join us inside so after mopping the floors I took photos of Audrey the cat.

Challenges x 3

I thought I would enter the above drawing for today's 'Illustration Friday' challenge - 'Mysterious

and I have entered a new challenge this week on Take a Word and the word is 'Time'
[the purple/pink thing is a snake if you can't make it out]

I have received my prize from the Fibre Arts/ Mixed Media challenge in July. I could choose from a range of books and craft items and I chose a quilting book by Anna Faustino called 'Simply stunning woven quilts'. And I agree with the title, the quilts are stunning. If you like bright colours you will like the quilts in this book.  The prize was a random win, so anybody could have won, so are you going to give it a try next month?

The Sketchbook Project [52,53]

I've just done a load of scanning, I didn't realise I had so many of The sketchbook project pages not done, so here is the first of the batch. One page I painted with gesso [the paper is so thin] and the other was stuck to the next. The sticking of two pages doesn't seem any better than the gesso, so I have gone back to doing that. It could be my sticking that is the problem, it's not flat. I also wonder if people will try to unstick the pages. The gesso has ruined some of my best pens so I've started using some old felt tips, gel pens and cheap supermarket brush pens which is what I have used for the above.
We have had more snow, I've never seen so much here before. I thought these planters looked like giant snow cupcakes.

S is for

I started this some time ago, I think I was going to put lots of things beginning with S on it, but I've decided to keep it simple.
