Farm Animals and Kaleidoscope

This is one from my A3 sketchbook, highly decorated farm animals, drawn with ink first then painted with watercolours.

An up and coming contest at Spoonflower is entitled kaleidoscope and I was thinking of entering one of these. I prefer the butterflies but does it look like a kaleidoscope pattern?

The original single patterns before making them into repeating patterns.

It's Friday again so I'm linking with Paint Party Friday

Butterfly Postcard and Digital Art

Digital postcard. The butterflies were from the Naturalist Library and the text, stamp and marks from a vintage postcard. Painted background

Flower drawn on my tablet then grown in the garden below.

A picture drawn on my tablet blended together with a photograph.

Robins

Two more digital collages created on my galaxy note.
I think I created the background from an image of a sea plant although it doesn't look anything like it now. I used photos of robins for guidance when drawing the birds. The butterflies are from my stash of entomology images from the Naturalists Library.

Spoonflower Swatches

These are some of the Spoonflower fabric swatches I got the other day, I'm really pleased with how they came out.

I used images from the Graphics Fairy and ephemera from The land of Nod for the design above.

These two were developed from a piece of hand painted fabric which I had embroidered.

The one above is one of my favourites, I started with a photo of a decorative pillar on the Natural History museum building.
The spotty toadstools was one that I created on my galaxy note pad.

Flights of Fancy

I've entered another Spoonflower competition.
This one is palette restricted - you can only use four specified colours and the winning design goes on the front of a Mollie Makes issue.
If you would like to vote for it and also see all the other entries, go to the Spoonflower site and look for this weeks contest called Flights of Fancy.
{sorry can't do a direct link to the competition, it just recognizes my computer and would not work on yours}

Easy Apron

I made an apron out of a tea towel and two metres of tape. Just cut off the two top corners, fold over the edge twice and stitch in place. Sew on some tape at the top to go around your neck and two at the sides to tie around you.
My butterfly tea towel was from All Tea Towels.
The picture below shows the two pieces I cut off the tea towel.

Wings and Web

 Three Muses challenge - wings
The sky and squatting man are my photos - the man is a wooden sculpture and was seen in the Chocolate Museum in Bruges, he's sipping hot chocolate and gazing at the world. His wings are part of a butterfly from The Graphics Fairy as are the toadstool and bird and insect, both of course with wings.
I thought I would also share this old piece of art, from a C&G project as it also has butterfly wings, not very good ones I may add, I prefer the web background to which they are attached.
