And why not join in this month challenge, Perfect Pets and Animals as well.

Starry Birthday

Oh what a difficult card this one turned out to be. I had no end of Copic issues with this one! Pens running out, pens going sticky, blending not blending properly, pleats not pleating, flicks not flicking properly! I wish I had printed more than one copy of this image and then I could have started again but now it has dried and been put together it doesn't actually look all that bad (I hope!). I will be investing in a good quality printer when we get round to moving but at the minute I have no room for one and the one at work is just much better than I can afford to buy. Shame I'm not back at work until Tuesday!

Anyway this card is for the Tiddly Inks Challenge #131 Celebrate and for The Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge for this month to use yellow. I did add some brown in it too to break it up a bit as totally yellow cards are not something I'm completely comfortable making!

And here's my Starry Birthday...

Last week Lacy Sunshine announced a new competition on their Facebook page using one of their new digis, Lil Frolic Where's the Button, so I just had to ask Heather for her and join in. I used Viva La Verve's sketch #4 for January for the layout and chose some sunny colours for Totally Gorjuss' Challenge #221 and thought I would also enter this card into Colour Me's Challenge #5 to choose up to 5 colours of your own choice.

Viva La Verve Sketch #1 for January

It's been a while since I played in the Viva La Verve sketch challenges, but they now have their own blog as opposed to being part of SCS, so when I saw this new challenge posted on FB, I thought I'd join in! This week's challenge is a combination of the sketch and colour combo below. I pulled out some of good old Verve favourites for this one - Great Friend and All Aflutter.

And here's my fairly CAS (for me anyway) card.

Santa's Helper

When I saw ColourQ's Challenge #219 and Papertake Weekly's Challenge to use Christmas Creatures, I just knew I had the perfect stamp to combine the two challenges. I keep this card fairly simple as it's one for my MIL to post, so needs to be kept as flat as possible for the postage, which seems to have gone up again!

Anyway here's my card...

Recipe:

Stamps: Santa's Helper from Verve Stamps

Papers: Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, Tea & Crumpets DSP (Retired), Merry Moments DSP (Retired), Neutrals DSP Stack (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Flower: R47, R35 (I think)

And that's all from me and Rudolph for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Blue Tulips???

Do you get blue tulips? I honestly have no idea (not a big flower person to be honest), but mine are blue so I guess you must do :P This card is for Mojo Monday's Sketch Challenge #312 and for Color Throwdown's Challenge #261 to use this bright combo, which is not my usual choice of colours, but I do quite like it for a different flower and butterfly card.

And here's my card...

Thank You with Verve

For this week's Viva La Verve's Sketch Challenge #2 for August, I used the colours from CC438 to use Crushed Curry, Midnight Muse and Primrose Petals and Charisma Cardz Challenge #31 to use stitching. I didn't have the energy to do lots of hand stitching or attempt to find my machine (I think it's hiding under my bed, but not sure!), so I faux stitched it with my Sew Simple Borders - so much quicker too!

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: All Aflutter, Tag Time, Thankful Accents, Fabulous You all from Verve Stamps, Sew Simple Borders from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Primrose Petals, Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Pillow Inspiration

This fortnight's challenge on A Passion for Papertrey was to be inspired by something. Last week I went and bought a new bedding set (that completely does not go with the bedroom decor but as we're hopefully moving this summer it will be decorated differently anyways!) and the cushion I bought to go with it was my inspiration. I also used the sketch from Mojo Monday's Challenge #300 - Happy Birthday Mojo!
