Scrapper's Delights New Release - Warrior Elf Princess

Good evening and welcome to my DT post for the new releases from Scrapper's Delights. This month I am using the gorgeous Warrior Elf Princess. I absolutely love this image and attempted to put her in the middle of a forest.

My background didn't quite come out as I envisioned as I did all the branches first and then added the leaves, but unfortunately the leaves had to sit behind the branches and it just didn't look right! I nearly scrapped the whole thing, but my boyfriend suggested adding some die cut leaves over the top! I actually used a small punch and now it looks so much better! Sometimes he does have some good ideas! LOL

The Paper Shelter Challenge #306 - Gems, Pearls or Enamel Dots

Good Morning everyone and welcome to another fabulous challenge from The Paper Shelter. This week our challenge is for you to use gems, pearls or enamel dots on your project. An easy challenge, right?!

I used the gorgeous Coconut and went for a blue, almost nautical theme. I added some Mini Prills at the bottom of the item to imitate the sea - these are really tiny little pearlescent balls that cost me a fortune from America and have never been used! I have 3 pots just sitting on my shelf as I had no idea how to use these, but was one of those things I saw and had to have! I bet you all have tons of crafting goodies like that too! I did also add a couple of tiny star gems to the flip flops - you can just see them!

The Craft Box January Steampunk Box Project #2

Good Morning everyone and welcome to another project from me for this month's Craft Box. The theme this month is steampunk and whilst I love to look at other people's steampunk projects, I struggle with these, so have gone for a much easier one this time!

I used an old image from The Stamping Chef, (sadly they have closed now, but are running as Illustrations by T) which isn't strictly a steampunk image, but I thought she went really well with the theme. I kept to a general gold and brown colour scheme and added lots of the embellishments, ribbon and papers from the box as well as adding some of the micro beads to my big metal flower. Love those things, but they get everywhere! LOL

This card is also for

Recipe:

Stamps: Demented Beauty from The Stamping Chef, Words of Wonder Set 1 from Crafter's Companion

Papers: Crushed Curry & Chocolate Chip both from Stampin' Up, X-Press It Blending Card, Patterned Papers from The Craft Box

The Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge Colour Inspiration Week

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge over at The Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge. This week we have a gorgeous Autumnal colour palette for you to use - I thought these colours would work great for a turkey themed Thanksgiving card, but as we don't celebrate it over here in the Uk, I have no images that would work at all.

Instead I went with a cute bear stamp that I found in my box of random stamps! This was also my first attempt at using distress inks without being in one of Tracy Payne's classes! I think he came out ok, but I think he needs a bit more texture on his fur.

Recipe:

Stamps: Popcorn The Bear Thanks A Bunch from Crafter's Companion

Papers: Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie Prints DSP (Retired) & Old Olive Prints DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Fabriano Artistico Watercolour Paper

Inks: Pumpkin Pie from Stampin' Up, Distress Ink Markers from Tim Holtz

Accessories: Pumpkin Pie Ribbon (Retired) from Stampin' Up, Buttons from stash, Filigree Border Die from Papertrey Ink

Distress Inks Used:
Leaves - Forest Moss, Shabby Shutters
Flowers - Gathered Twigs, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, Rusty Hinge
Bear - Tattered Rose, Gathered Twigs, Antique Linen
Ground - Antique Linen

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping and don't forget to pop on over to the Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge and check out all the other gorgeous cards from the DT and why not join in the fun whilst you are there too?!

Fussy and Fancy Challenge #109 with Crafty Sentiments

It's time for another Fussy and Fancy Challenge and this fortnight we are celebrating birthdays!
Birthday Candles

We are sponsored this week by the fabulous Crafty Sentiments, who have generously donated this fabulous prize.....

3 digi stamps of your choice
for one very lucky winner
who enters this challenge!

Crafty Sentiments were also very generous to provide the DT with some images to use for this challenge and I chose to use Sweet Birthdays - such a cute little girl!

And here's my card. I went for a card in a box and added some extra birthday balloons and presents. Love this style of card - so effective and not too hard (unless like me you glue the inside on the outside and then have to cut all the panels off and start again when the card rips as you're trying to peel it apart!)

And this is the back where you add your message.

Cheeky Little Nymph

I bought a couple of these ToRead stamps a while ago and never used them, so thought I would dig one out for a card today. I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday's Challenge #260 and Cupcake Crafts Challenge #244 to make a boys card. I did adapt the sketch slightly and added some more buttons to the top left corner as it felt unbalanced! I never really know what embellishments to put on a boy's card as they don't tend to like butterflies, flowers and swirly things, which is what I tend to put on my girly cards, so buttons and twine it was.

Anyway here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Xeru ToRead from Crafters Companion, Tropical Party from Stampin' Up

Papers: Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Island Oasis DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Neenah Solar Crest

Inks: Old Olive from Stampin' Up, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers

Accessories: Window Frames Framelits Dies, Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired) both from Stampin' Up, Buttons from stash, Twine from Waltzing Mouse Stamps

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.
