Thought I would join in with PTI's Make It Monday Challenge #146 this week to use angled backgrounds with patterned papers - a new easy one! I used various paper packs from PTI and my new Scrolled Script stamp set to come up with this quick thank you card. (My Hibiscus Burst ink is all but dried out - must remember to order one in my next order).
Recipe:
Stamps: Scrolled Script from PTI
Papers: Lemon Tart, Kraft, Egg Hunt Patterned Papers, Damask Designs Patterned Papers, Dotty Biscotti Patterned Papers, Hibiscus Burst Pattern Pack all from Papertrey Ink, Whisper White from Stampin' Up
Inks: Hibiscus Burst, Hawaiian Shores, Lemon Tart all from Papertrey Ink
Accessories: Kraft Polka Dot Ribbon from Papertrey Ink
And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Fancy a bit more citrus?
The colour challenge on Inkspirational's Challenge #23 was another gorgeous citrus-y one so I combined it with Make It Monday's Challenge #119 to make flagged borders to come up with this card. I love this one and an ideal way to use up some scraps of DSP too!
And here's my card.
Recipe:
Stamps: Botanical Silhouettes from Papertrey Ink
Papers: Stampers Select White from Papertrey Ink, Melon Mambo, Sweet and Sour DSP (Retired), Cheerful Treat DSP (Retired), In Colors 2012 - 14 DSP Stack, Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP all from Stampin' Up
Inks: Basic Black from Stampin' Up
Accessories: Filigree Border Die, Beautiful Butterflies Dies both from Papertrey Ink, Rhinestones from Stampin' Up
And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink's May Blog Hop
I haven't done a Papertrey Ink Blog Hop Challenge for ages, for no other reason than I don't generally get much crafting time during the weekday evenings and if the bloghop day is during the week, then I don't have the time to play. But this month it's on a Saturday, so I get a chance to play! YAY!!!
This month Nichole gave us a selection of colour combos to choose from and I chose this gorgeous bright pink one.
And here it finally is.
Recipe:
Stamps: Think Big Favorites #12, Friendship Jar Spring Fillers both from Papertrey Ink
Papers: Summer Sunrise, Ripe Avocado, Stampers Select White, 2008 & 2009 Bitty Dot Basics Patterned Papers, Pacific Vineyards Basics Patterned Papers, Raspberry Fizz Mix Basics Patterned Papers, Hibiscus Bursts Patterned Papers all from Papertrey Ink
Inks: Hibiscus Burst (desperately need a new one as it's virtually run out!) from Papertrey Ink, Basic Black from Stampin' Up
Accessories: Large Scallop Border Die, Mega Gracious Vases Dies both from Papertrey Ink, Orange Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel
And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.
Textured Butterflies
After watching the video for Make It Monday's Challenge #116 to add texture to your stamps, I knew Beautiful Butterflies was the set to use! I actually don't have a combo like Betsy used in the video (the teeth on my comb are too wide and thick to get sort of pattern), so instead I used a scrap piece of card to scratch patterns on to the stamps. I used the sketch from Mojo Monday's Challenge #293 and the colours from Play Date Cafe's Challenge #183. I'm not a fan of Bravo burgundy at all and am glad it's finally being retired, but actually it does look quite nice with these other colours.
And here's my card.
Recipe:
Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies, Signature Greetings II, Happy Hexagons all from Papertrey Ink
Papers: Baja Breeze, Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White, In Color 2010-12 DSP Stack (Retired) all from Stampin' Up
Inks: Baja Breeze, Bravo Burgundy, Poppy Parade (Retired) all from Stampin' Up
Accessories: Happy Hexagons Plate, Limitless Layers 1 3/4" Circle Dies, Doily Details Dies all from Papertrey Ink, Bravo Burgundy 1/4" & 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbons (Retired), Baja Breeze Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired), Poppy Parade Ribbon (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

A Flutter of Butterflies
Not sure if that is really the correct name for a group of butterflies, but I like it! This card is for Friday MashUp's Challenge #102 to use the sketch below, butterflies and brayering. I will admit that my card didn't use brayering as the first attempt just didn't work when I did use my brayer. It just didn't blend very well, so I used my blender sponge instead rather than keep wasting card and time (which I was short on this afternoon). This is also for Play Date Café's Challenge #174 to use these colours, which I interpretted as Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz and Glorious Green. An odd colour combo, but it works! And finally this is also for Make It Monday's Challenge #108 to use inked backgrounds. I haven't done a MIM challenge for ages - no idea why not!
And here's my card. The ombre effect is more obvious in real life but my camera didn't/wouldn't pick it up.
Recipe:
Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies, Think Big Favorites #4 both from PTI
Papers: Glorious Green (Retired), Pear Pizzazz (Retired), Whisper White, Perfect Plum Prints DSP (Retired) all from SU
Inks: Glorious Green (Retired), Pear Pizzazz (Retired), Perfect Plum all from SU, Versamark
Accessories: Beautiful Butterflies Dies from PTI, White Embossing Powder from SU, Dew Drops

Pinwheels and sunshine!
Can you believe it actually started snowing here in the UK again today?! Where has the sunshine gone? Admittedly we only got a day of sun and it was still very cold, but the snow should have gone completely by now and we should be heading to warmer weather, but today is so bitterly cold!
So to brighten up my day I made a bright, fun card for Make It Monday's Challenge #104 to make some handmade pinwheels (I found an old stencil/cutting template, so drew round that for mine!), Lovefest Challenge F to be inspired by the photo below, Cupcake Crafts Challenge #230 to use lace, doilies and twine and for Mojo Monday's Sketch Challenge #281 for the sketch, although I did veer slightly from it as my doily dies were a bit bigger than they should have been to fit the sketch perfectly.
And here's my card.
Recipe:
Stamps: Simple Sunflower, Polka Dot Basics both from PTI
Papers: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White all from SU
Inks: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight both from SU
Accessories: Rick Rack Die, Doily Details Dies, Framed Out #4 Die, Simple Sunflower Die, Harvest Gold Felt all from PTI, Pinwheels Template from ?, Buttons from stash, Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel, Black Glitter Felt from Hobbycraft, Lace from stash

Another Starry Day
I just have this thing about using stars for boys'/men's cards at the minute and love this one mixed with some chevrons as well!
This card is for Make It Monday's Challenge #103 The Diecut Double Up, to use a die cut within a die cut. I went for the easy option and cut a circle out from one of the Mat Stack #6 die cuts so my sentiment was peeking through the hole. This is also for F4A155 to use blues and browns. Perfect colours for a quick boy card!
Recipe:
Stamps: Star Prints, Background Basics: Chevrons both from PTI
Papers: Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla all from SU
Inks: Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Midnight Muse, Soft Suede all from SU
Accessories: Mat Stack #6 Die Collection from PTI, Circle Nestabilities, Card Candi from Craftwork Cards

The Richness of Red
I never use to really like red, either for my cards or clothes, but lately I have been wearing a lot more red and using red more on my cards too. I suppose Christmas and Valentines helps with that too!
My first card is for Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #163 to use something old and something new. My olds are several - my image was coloured in absolutely ages ago but never used, my ribbon is a few years old as well and the gold swirly papers I used on my lanterns is also a few years old. My new things are my Love Story papers from Echo Park which I bought just after Christmas but hadn't used and the greeting came from a new PTI stamp set that arrived on Monday! This card is also for Friday MashUp's Challenge #94 to make a Chinese New Year Card (oops I used a birthday greeting!) and to use the faux Chinese lantern technique, which I kind of did on my mini lanterns. Now I know sweet Sakura is probably meant to be Japanese, but I couldn't decide so thought she would work for this one.
Recipe:
Stamps: Sakura from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, Quilled Elegance from PTI
Papers: Real red, Basic Black both from SU, Copic X-Press It Smooth Blending Card, Love Story Patterned Papers from Echo Park, Scrummy, Yummy papers from Craftwork Cards
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers
Accessories: Ribbon from old stash, Twine from The Ribbon Reel, Edgers Dies #4 from PTI
My next card is for Mojo Monday's Challenge #277 for the sketch and Make It Monday's Challenge #101 to use Layered Embossing. Just had to use my new Quilled Elegance on this one - love this stamp set!
Recipe:
Stamps: Quilled Elegance, Fancy Flourishes both from PTI
Papers: Real Red, Whisper White, Crumb Cake all from SU
Ink: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Versamark all from SU
Accessories: Real Red Satin Ribbon (Retired), Whisper White Embossing Powder, Clear Embossing Powder, Neutrals Buttons all from SU, Brads from stash

A bit of red
Just a couple of quick challenge cards I made using red!
This first one is for Make It Monday's Challenge #98 to use the chalkboard technique. I keep seeing this technique all over the blog world and I love it, but hadn't tried it so this challenge was prefect for trying it out. I pulled out my fave Beautiful Blooms papers and the funky Say It With Style sentiment set to come up with this! I used my new Ribbon Candy Border die from Memory Box as well and this die is just fab! I think it's going to be my new fave!
Recipe:
My next card is for Papertake Weekly's Anything Goes Challenge. Again I just pulled out some pretty paper and matched the colours to it, but I have a major problems with determining the difference between Cherry Cobbler and Riding Hood Red and ended up mixing the two on this card! One day I will learn to double check what I'm using BEFORE I stick everything together!

PTI Randomness...
Just a couple of random cards I made to fit with some challenges this weekend.
This first card is for Viva La Verve's Sketch #4 for December and for Make It Monday's Challenge #97 to pick one of the techniques you may have missed. I actually made this card for Make It Monday #96 to use patchwork die cuts, but I am too late to link to that post so will use it for this one instead :P. I was flicking through my dies for this challenge and came across my umbrella and knew this would be an easy one to use. Picked some pretty PTI papers and added a bit of cross-stitching too!
Recipe:
My next card is for The Sweet Stop's Sketch Challenge #190 and Cupcake Crafts Challenge #223 to use cupcakes! Again I just pulled some of my PTI papers out (I don't use these as often as I should!) and off I went!
