The Paper Shelter Challenge #498 Red or Pink as the Main Colour

Good morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from The Paper Shelter. This week our challenge is to use red or pink as the main colour. I know not everyone sends Valentine's cards, so rather than making the challenge a Valentine's one, I thought we could just use the traditional Valentine's Day colours instead and that way if you want to make a Valentine's card you can do, but you don't have to!

Anyway I do go for a Valentine's Day card using the gorgeous Sweetheart and although my intention was to use pink as the main colour, lots of red creeped in as well! I also used my Lawn Fawn Conversation Hearts still which I bought last year and have never used! It was such an easy stencil to line up!

This card is for

Recipe:

Stamps: Sweetheart from The Paper Shelter, Joyful Heart bears from My Favorite Things

Papers: Blushing Bride & Real Red both from Stampin' Up, Ultimate Graphic White Paper, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

Inks: Real Red, Blushing Bride & Regal Rose (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic Markers

Accessories: Conversation Hearts Stencil from Lawn Fawn, Ribbon from stash (It doesn't look anywhere near as creased in real life as it does in the photo! LOL)

Copics Used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R30, R20
Hair - E51, E53, E55, E57
Eyes - B32, B34, B37
Light Pink - RV10, RV11
Mid Pink - RV11, RV13, RV14

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to pop on over to the Paper Shelter Challenge blog and check out the rest of the DTs gorgeous projects for our red or pink themed challenge this week and why not join in the fun whilst you are there too? As always there are some fabulous prizes up for grabs!

Something Else on Saturday #140 Featuring Steampunk Queen of Hearts from Ms. Fits

Good morning and happy Saturday! I can't believe January is virtually over and done with! And what a mad month it has been at work! Covid cases all over the place! Luckily I have managed to avoid it so far - no idea how considering 1/3 of my class had it at one point! Fingers crossed it stays that way!

Anyway onto this week's Something Else on Saturday card. I am so excited that Betty Roberts is creating digi stamps again, but this time her daughter Rio is running the store and the digis are limited to a month's run at a time, so you have to get them while you can before they disappear! This gorgeous gal is Steampunk Queen of Hearts and I made her into an alternative Valentine's card for my boyfriend!

Something Else on Saturday #92 Featuring Smitten Kitten by Time For Tea Designs

Good morning and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post! As it is Valentine's day tomorrow, I thought I would share another card full of love. I made this one, not as a Valentine's card (I only give one to my boyfriend as sending to friends is not really a done thing here in the UK), but as a happy chocolate day card instead, so it could be sent with a box of chocolates!

I used the new Lots of Love Slimline Die and the Smitten Kitten stamp set (again!) both from Time For Tea Designs. I just love cats and chocolate, so this set was perfect for me! Haven't had a box of chocolates since Christmas though so hoping I get a little box tomorrow!

I cut out the Lots of Love die in white first, then partially in Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette and Poppy Parade to add the other hearts into the cut outs to make the patterned paper design. It took a while to put together but I love the effect of it! I then measured it and cut out my matting layer and card base, working backwards for a change as I don't have any card bases that fit this size die. The DL sized card we have in the UK are too short!

Scene It Sunday #32 Featuring Smitten Kitten from Time For Tea Designs

Good afternoon! My post is late for today's Scene It Sunday as I forgot to write it! But it's here at last! For today's post, I am sharing a sweet little Valentine's card that I made for my boyfriend for next weekend using my new sets from Time For Tea Designs. The main image is all from the Smitten Kitten set and the hearts on the patterned paper are all from the Happy Mail Critters set. I made my own patterned paper as I knew I wouldn't have any in the right colours to match the colours in the scene.

I wanted a softer more romantic coloured sky so went for lots of pinks, peaches and yellows and even though it doesn't really look like a sunset, it is just what I wanted!

This card is for

Happy Valentine's Day!

Good morning and happy Valentine's Day to you all. We don't really celebrate Valentine's in a huge way here in the UK. It tends to be only buying romantic gifts for your beloved rather than for everyone you care about, like it is celebrated in the USA. I did try one year to give out little cards and gifts for Valentine's to friends and work colleagues and they all thought it was a bit odd and to be honest, I haven't done it since! Maybe I will try again next year!

For this year though I have made my boyfriend a simple card, with a very fitting image for the two of us. We're both rock chicks at heart I guess and this Skull Candy Til Death image from Faery Ink was just perfect for us! I used the no lines version to add a softer look to the image and to keep the skull more grey than black.

This card is for

Recipe:

Stamps: Skull Candy Til Death from Faery Ink

Papers: Real Red, Whisper White both from Stampin' Up, Sweet As Sugar Patterned Papers from Reverse Confetti, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

Little Miss Muffet Stamps Inspiration Post

Good morning everyone. Did you see the announcement that Barbara made last week about closing the store? It's a real shame as that means the design team will close too, but I completely understand that she needs a break at the moment. Hopefully one day Little Miss Muffet Stamps will return. The DT are still sharing our projects at the minute and here is my latest one.

I have used the adorable Jr. Hatter Shower for this one (she was a digi stamp so is now retired) and made it into an anniversary card for my boyfriend as we celebrated our 22nd year together earlier this week.

Ching-Chou Kuik February 2018 Challenge - All You Need Is Love

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for this month's challenge from the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration and Challenge blog. This month our challenge is the seasonal All You need Is Love challenge so think valentine's, hearts, roses, romance etc.

I chose to use the gorgeous Red Hearts stamp from the Valentine Love Fairy Set. I went for a red and black combo initially and then decided that the sky couldn't be grey as well as it would all just blend into one if I did so chose to make a blue night sky and I think the image really pops against that blue. What you do think?
