Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Post - Positivity Sentiments 2 & Summer Rose Papers

Good Morning and welcome to my DT Inspiration post for Whimsy Stamps. This week I am sharing with you a non Christmas card for a change! I love this sentiment that Tracy has included in her Positivity Sentiments 2 set and made a frame rather than a card this time. I used the Summer Rose Papers as well and attempted a vintage sort of look with lots of frantage in the corners too.

Papers:

Stamps: Positivity Sentiments 2 from Whimsy Stamps

Papers: Berry Burst & Sahara Sand both from Stampin' Up, Summer Rose Papers from Whimsy Stamps

Inks: None!

Accessories: Berry Burst Ribbon from Stampin' Up, Lace from Brenda's Lace & Ribbons, Shabby Pink Frantage Embossing Powder from Stampendous, Flowers from my lovely friend Sue, Beaded Flower Centres from Cuddly Buddly, Vintage Floral Punch Around The Page from Martha Stewart

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to pop on over to the Whimsy Stamps and Inspiration Group on Facebook and check out all the other fabulous creations from the rest of the DT this month.

Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Post - School Time Sentiments

Good Morning and welcome to my last inspiration post of the month for Whimsy Stamps. As it is nearly time for me to go back to school myself, I thought I would use one the quotes from School Time Sentiments to go up in my new classroom. I am moving schools after being in my previous school for 12 years, so I am feeling a bit nervous at the minute. I will be fine after a couple of weeks settling in to the new routines and new ways of doing things, but this quote will help me to feel positive!

I added the sentiment from the School Time Sentiments set to one of the papers from the School Time Papers set, changed the colour to a dark teal (the photo doesn't really show the true colour unfortunately) and just added a few simple embellishments.

Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Post - Fabulous Fall Sentiments

Good Morning and welcome to this week's inspiration post from me for Whimsy Stamps. I thought I would share with you this time one of my Autumnal cards using one of the pre-coloured images in Tracy's Fabulous Fall Sentiments Coloured set and one of the papers from Autumn 1 Papers.

Having pre-coloured images, especially when they are a bit more complicated and detailed like this one, sure does make the card making process a lot quicker! This sweet card only took me about 10 minutes to get everything out, cut and glue together.

This card is also for
Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #135 Bingo #4 (I used Bows - Free - Sentiment)

Inspired by a German demo's scrapbook layout

On the ILWS forum was a post the other day about a German Stampin' Up video showing a gorgeous wedding scrapbook page. This is the link - Pauline's Papier - don't worry you don't need to understand German to work out what they are doing as the video shows it all anyways. You can just scroll down to the picture of the layout if you don't want to watch the video as well.

Today, first day back at work (AARRGGHH!!) after the Christmas holidays and I was asked at lunchtime, while eating my fish 'n' chips if I would make a birthday card for one of the TAs 60th birthday, which we are celebrating on Friday with a party after school. She's such a lovely TA and always organises presents for everyone else that she definately deserves a big party. As soon as I asked what size and was told as big as possible, I knew what I was going to do and here it is.....

The base is 2 sheets of 12x12 Kraft cardstock. The top layer was scored 3/4" from the left hand side so it would fold open properly and then attached together using some jumbo eyelets and some gorgeous Rose Red ribbon to embellish the side. This ribbon was sent to me by a lovely American friend of mine as it's not available in the UK catalogue - I hope they bring it in soon as I love this colour.

The next layer is Rose Red with the sides punched using the Eyelet Border punch. Then a layer of Regal Rose and Whisper White added on top. These three layers all use the 12x12 textured cardstock - I love this cardstock as it just feels so smooth and looks beautiful.

The wording was cut using a Sizzix alphabet - no idea which one but it's about 3 years old now. The zero was cut using oval nestabilities and the 6 I had to draw myself - not too bad a job for the size of it either.

The "vine" was a thin piece of Old Olive cardstock twisted round and round until it was quite tight. Once I let go it bounced back out a little bit and was perfect. The flowers are all punched using the 5 petal flower punch as are the leaves. The leaves were just cut to the centre of the flower punch out and inked round the edges with Old Olive ink.

The buttons in the centre of the flowers are from my old stash and the thread is from my old cross-stitching days. I knew that stuff would come in handy some day.

I love this card and just hope Shiela loves it too.
