The Paper Shelter Challenge #622 Embellish It

Good morning and welcome to my first post of the year for The Paper Shelter Challenge. We are now back after our long Christmas break, so I hope you will all be joining in our challenges again!

Our challenge this week is to embellish your card or project and that means you can add anything you like to embellish it! You could ribbon, twine, lace, pearls, gems, die cuts, buttons...the list is endless!

Hearts Quest Fantasy Challenge #12 Anything Goes & Optional Twist of Angels

Good morning everyone and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from Hearts Quests Fantasy. This month our challenge is our usual anything goes challenge, but the optional twist this time is to use an angel on your card or project.

For my card I used this adorable Heavenly Christmas Carol as she walks out in the snow, singing to herself. I found the perfect sentiment for her as well in one of my many Christmas themed stamp sets. I went for soft greens this time for a change and love how it came out!

The Paper Shelter Tribute Post

Good morning everyone adn welcome to my DT post for The Paper Shelter. This is a very hard post to write today. This week and next, rather than running our usual birthday Blog Hop, the Design Team at The Paper Shelter is honouring our beautiful co-founder Veronica, who tragically left us on the 25th of September 2024.

This lovely photo is of Veronica and her son.

Veronica was a kind, supportive, beautiful soul, who alongside her co-founder Pedro, produced the images we all know and love to create with. There is a vacuum in the world today, where Veronica used to be, and we will miss her terribly.

Just looking back through all my Paper Shelter cards, there are so many different fun and gorgeous images that I have used, but I just had to use my very first image, Angel, for my tribute card. I submitted a card to the DT call with this image and from that starting my journey here ten years ago.

I can't believe I have been on this design team for so long, but it is such a fun, caring team that these past 10 years have flown by. Veronica was definitely part of my reason for staying on the team and I will continue to honour her using the images her and Pedro created and coloured together.

And here is my card using the gorgeous Angel.

This card is also for

You can enter the challenge up to 3 times, provided you've used a Paper Shelter product on at least one of them.

The Paper Shelter Challenge #616 - Make It Sparkle

Good morning everyone and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from The Paper Shelter. This week our challenge is to make it sparkle in honour of Bonfire Night here on November 5th in the UK. For those of you not familiar with this celebration, it is an odd one to say the least.

Basically we have a bonfire traditionally burning a guy on the top to represent Guy Fawkes, who was caught trying to blow up the Houses of Parliament with the Gunpowder Plot hundreds of years ago. People also set off lots of fireworks along side it too. In my house we don't have our own fireworks as the local Italian Community centre always has an amazing display which we can view from the warmth and comfort of our own home!

Anyway, for my card this time, I have used the gorgeous Lunar Dreamer and added lots of glitter card die cuts as well as some glitter ribbon. I also added some clear sparkle gelly roll pen to her dress and as stars, but that hasn't shown up very well in the photo!

This card is also for

Recipe:

Stamps: Lunar Dreamer from The Paper Shelter

Papers: Night of Navy from Stampin' Up, Pale Silver Glitter Card from Crafter's Companion, Summertime (by the sea) Patterned Papers from Maja Design, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

Good morning everyone and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from The Paper Shelter. This week our challenge is to include an animal, great or small on your project or card. You could include an image of just an animal or an animal with a human character as well.

For my card, I have chosen the adorable Cloudcrest Dragon and used one of my favourite dragon colour combos - teal and purple! I kept this one fairly simple so the dragon could take the centre stage, just adding some shimmer to his horns and wing.

The Paper Shelter Challenge #610 - Three of Something

Good morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from The Paper Shelter. This week our challenge is for you to use three of something. It could be 3 characters/stamps, 3 colours, 3 patterned papers, 3 embellishments, 3 die cuts and so on.

For my card, I used the gorgeous Sunshine and for my element of 3, I added 3 flowers as my embellishments. I tried to stick to three colours on my image, but then realised her hair colour made it 4. Same with the dies I used and colours in my patterned papers! So hard for me to stick with just 3 things!
