Scene It Sunday #38 Featuring Bonnet from Krista Smith

Good morning and Happy Sunday. Boy this weekend seems to have flown by already! Today I am sharing the card I made for my Mother-in-law for Mother's Day last Sunday. She loves sunflowers so this image, which I got from Krista Smith's Patreon back in March 2020, was perfect for it.

I went for a less layered card than usual for this one as I wanted the sunflower die cuts to pop out a bit more and although they are not as bright as proper sunflowers, or even those in my coloured image, I love that shade of yellow!

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge at In The Pink. This fortnight we are challenging you to use your dies and/or your punches on your pink project! I have heaps of dies and a fair few punches as well, so this one was easy-ish for me. It was deciding which ones to use that is always the problem!

I used a cute Saturated Canary image for a pretty Easter card - haven't used one of their images for ages and I had lots of fun colouring her up. I used a Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page for my border punch and some egg die cuts.

Friends are like bookends...

Good afternoon, well evening really. I'm doing this post really quickly before I head off out for the night, celebrating my friend's 60th birthday! Happy Birthday to Jan if she reads this!

This is a birthday card for another friend of mine, who will be turning 40 in a few weeks time. her lovely sister is making her a memory book and has asked me to make something for it, including a personal letter of our years together. I have known Chris since I was 17 when we did A-Level German together! That's a fair few years now!

I made her a card using the gorgeous Tea and A Book from Saturated Canary as this image is Chris to a tee! She is an English teacher, so loves her books and needs her morning cuppa too! And although the hair is not quite the right style she tends to go for short hair more than I ever will do.

Chris isn't one for lots of colour either, preferring to stick to her shades of black, a it like me there, although I do throw in a bit of pink clothing now and then LOL, so I did this card is the only colour she really wears other than black - red. I will be adding my letter of all our memories together later on, but I hope she likes it!

In The Pink Challenge #64 For A Special Lady

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for the In The Pink Challenge #64. This fortnight we are challenging you to make something for a special lady, which can also include mother's day as well if you wish. Our only rule is that you must use pink and the more the better!

I was very lucky last weekend and attended Tracy Payne's Distress Inks workshop over near Woburn, about an hour away from me and I thought I would use the card we made as my DT card this week. You may have already seen Tracy's beautiful card and mine is not nearly as beautiful! This was my first time ever at colouring/painting with Distress Inks and while it didn't quite come out as it was supposed to, I will be giving it another go, once I invest in the sets of Distress Ink markers.

And here she is...Her skin came out way too dark - I think being a Copic colourer I was trying to do my Copic colouring too much with the paintbrush and inks!

This card is also for
Noor Design UK's Sketch Challenge #1 (this is the sketch Tracy used in the workshop)

Recipe:

Stamps: Bowie from Saturated Canary, English Text for the Banners from Joy Crafts

Papers: White and Pink from Tracy, Watercolor card, Patterned papers ?

Inks: Distress Inks in Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Broken China, Black Soot and ? for the t-shirt (can't remember!)

Accessories: Ribbon and Lace from Live & Love Crafts, White Gesso, Dutch Doobadoo Flower with 4 Petals, Flower Circle with Corner Die, Vintage Flourish Leaf, Butterflies Border, Butterflies (2 pcs), Banners (2pcs), Round No. 2, Flourish Border Die, Rolled Roses 1, Rolled Roses 2, Softwood Bricks & Softwood Roof Tiles all from Joy Crafts/ Noor Design (all from Tracy too).

I had a fabulous time at the workshop and will definitely be going back for more. I bought absolutely heaps of  stuff too - 3 new paper pads, some gesso, a pot of structure paste, 2 stencils, a stamp set and LOTS of dies. I spent my month's crafting budget all in one day! Argh! But I'm going to have lots of fun playing with it all this weekend!

Anyway don't forget to pop on over to the In The Pink Challenge blog and check out all the other gorgeous cards from the DT and why not join in the fun whilst you're there too.

Walking On

Now I'm on holiday for the next 6 weeks or so, I will have loads more time for crafting, so this is today's effort. I thought I would push myself a little bit and tried the no lines technique for the very first time. I have always been worried about not being able to see what I was doing but it was actually easier than I thought it would be. I used the light version that comes with the Walking On digi as well as having the normal dark lines one next to me whilst I was colouring to check where the lines were supposed to be.

This card is for Saturated Canary's Facebook Challenge #3 which is an Anything Goes one as is the challenge from Through The Craftroom Door and finally for The Ribbon Girl's Colour Challenge for July to use aqua/turquoise.

And here she is...I'm really pleased with how her face turned out, but did get a bit sloppy with the frantage!

Treasure Your Day

Thought I would enter the Saturated Canary Facebook challenge this month with their sketch and their free digi, Tammi Buccaneer, which you can also get when you join their Facebook group - isn't she just gorgeous?! This card is also for Cupcake Inspirations' Challenge #260 to use the colours below. I actually used this colour combo for a DT card for Sketch Saturday which will come out next Saturday and it's a gorgeous combo - so bright and fresh! I'm also entering this card into Crafty Sentiments Anything Goes Challenge.

Pixie Nerd Colour Along

Alyce Keegan did a Colour Along last week using Saturated Canary's Pixie Nerd and I finally got round today to doing it before the video gets taken off her site (which has happened to me the last 2 times I've tried to do one! Sometimes I don't have the images printed and have no printer at home to do so or I just don't get the time! This time I was waiting for my reinkers to turn up as I had 2 pens that had run out.)

Anyway I thought I would enter this card into Fussy And Fancy's Challenge #112 to use lace and pearls to support my fellow Fussy and Fanciers! It's not too bad for my first colour along, although I do think the dress has too much yellow in it, but I do like it! I don't own any watercolours so didn't do the background part and coloured in the ground and did a slight shadow around her instead.

Recipe:

Stamps: Pixie Nerd from Saturated Canary

Papers: Rich Razzleberry from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card, Card base from Crafts Unlimited, Vintage Frost Basics 19th December from Maja Design, Other patterned paper from Live & Love Crafts but I've cut the label off it so no idea who it is by!

Sweater Socks Fairy Butterfly Hanging

Not really sure what to call this thing I made but it's a butterfly, it has Sweater Socks Fairy on it and it hangs up, so I guess the title is about right! I have had 3 of these MDF butterflies in a box for ages with the intention of decorating them for my new craft room when we finally move (still waiting on that!), so when Saturated Canary's latest challenge #55 was to alter something I thought it would be a great way to start! I'm also entering this one into In The Pink's Challenge #31 to use ribbons and bow (thank you ladies for choosing my card as one of the top picks last week!) and for Charisma Cardz Challenge #43 to make anything but a card.

Here it is just standing up...

And hanging up...Going to make a few of these for Christmas pressies I think. I just love it!
