Craft Box April Project #2

Good Morning and welcome to my final DT post for Craft Box. I have had lots of fun on this DT and tried out lots of techniques and mixed media projects that I would probably have never done had I not been on this DT, but this term has come to an end and it is time for me to try my hand at something new. Thank you to Anna for inviting me to join your team and for all the DT goodies too. Thank you also to Michelle, our DT coordinator and the rest of the team for being a fabulous group of inspirational artists!

Anyway on to my project. I bought a pack of these kraft coloured gift bags from the Works (4 for £1) and thought I would have a go at decorating one as it is something I haven't done for absolutely ages! Everything on here except for the gesso, sentiment and ink used on it came from the April Craft Box.

Recipe:

Stamps: Mat Stack 4 Collection from Papertrey Ink

Papers: All from April's Craft Box

Inks: Perfect Plum from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Purple 3D pearl Effects from Dovecrafts, Bag from The Works, Lace, Ribbon, Flowers, Frame, Wire, Beads, Cone things, Gems and Metal Charm all from April's Craft Box

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to pop on over to the Craft Boxers Facebook Group and check out all the other fabulous projects from the DT this month.

March Craft Box Project #2

Good Morning and welcome to my second post for the March edition of Craft Box. I thought I would do something a little different this time and used only the supplies in the Craft Box. I made three tags using the patterned papers, snipart words, glitter, glass cabochons, sparkly gems, fibres, ribbon, flowers and epoxy stickers. OK I lied, I did a little touch of lace, but that came from the Craft Box Mixed Media workshop I went to the other weekend, so I guess it still counts as a Craft Box item!

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Craft Box Project #1 for March Box

Good Morning everyone and welcome to my first project using the March Craft Box. The Craft Box this time was a little different and very open to interpretation for what to do with the goodies, so I decided to make a love/Valentines canvas to add my wall of canvases. I try to do each one in a different colour and now have a purple one, turquoise one, pink one and a red one. Might go for a neutral colour next time.

I used a mixture of goodies from the Craft Box and some from my own stash and an image from Faery Ink for this canvas. From the Craft Box I used the black and white patterned papers, "forever" Snipart, glass baubles, glitter squares, flowers, leaves, ribbon, heart charms and the resin frame, which I painted in black gesso and then with pearl stencil paste which is also from Craft Box.

This canvas is also for

Ching-Chou Kuik April Challenge Under The Sea

Good Morning and welcome to my post for the new challenge from the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration and Challenge blog. This month our challenge is called Under The Sea, so we would love to see your sea themed projects. You can also include mermaids or sea animals which usually live under the sea, even if they are not under it in your image!

I used the gorgeous Lilies Commitment in my project and made a picture frame scene using a cheap plastic frame I bought ages ago from Poundland. Unfortunately the glass in it was broken when I dug it out this morning, but that worked in my favour a little bit as it meant I could have things sticking on to the image from frame itself.

The frame was originally white but I painted it with a layer of gesso to make it easier to add the paint, although I'm not really sure I needed it. I used Ice Blue Pearlescent paint and then added lots of shells from eBay and other goodies from an old Craft Box.

Although it didn't come out quite as I had imagined, I really love it and it is the first part to my new bathroom, which when we get round to decorating it, will have a mermaid theme to it (I do think I will need to add the glass in the frame then though to protect it from all the moisture, so will need to go and buy another frame to steal the glass out of!)

And here is a close up of my colouring...

Craft Box February Project #1 with Wee Stamps Poppy

Good Morning and welcome to my first project this month for Craft Box. I decided to use lots of the fairy elements, charms and flowers on this free-standing plaque/monolith. I bought a load of these from That Craft Place before Christmas with the intention on making all my friends and family a free standing calendar each. I managed 2! I had gessoed this one ready to make, but never got round to it and feel it's a bit late to give people a calendar now!

So anyway I added some bricks using my stencil from Dutch Doobadoo and then mixed sage green and silver paint together to make a shimmery green before adding lots of the goodies from Craft Box and lots of die cuts as well.

Here is the front.... Isn't Poppy just adorable?!

And the back... The quote is the first line from a poem I found on Pinterest.

The Craft Box January Steampunk Box Project #2

Good Morning everyone and welcome to another project from me for this month's Craft Box. The theme this month is steampunk and whilst I love to look at other people's steampunk projects, I struggle with these, so have gone for a much easier one this time!

I used an old image from The Stamping Chef, (sadly they have closed now, but are running as Illustrations by T) which isn't strictly a steampunk image, but I thought she went really well with the theme. I kept to a general gold and brown colour scheme and added lots of the embellishments, ribbon and papers from the box as well as adding some of the micro beads to my big metal flower. Love those things, but they get everywhere! LOL

The Craft Box Let It Snow Canvas Trilogy

Good afternoon and welcome to my second project using the December Craft Box. In the mad run up to Christmas I completely forgot to do this project and then found these 3 small 7 x 5 inch canvases when having a tidy up of some old crafting stuff and knew what I wanted to do with them straight away.

Using a mixture of baby blue, pearl ice blue and blanc acrylic paints, I painted a random background before adding some snowflake die cuts along the edges and corners and then covered all the edges with Snowtex to give each canvas a snowy texture.

I added lots of goodies from the December Christmas Craft Box including the Christmas Tree Sniparts and that gorgeous snowflake Snipart frame, both of which I painted white. I used the snowflake glass stickers in each corner and then added lots of the beaded snowflakes and gems everywhere.

On the centre panel I added the gorgeous Snowflake Suzanne from Art by MiRan, also adding some Snowtex around her. I added some of flowers, pine cones and berries to this canvas as well, covering them all again with more Snowtex. I love that stuff!

I then finished off each canvas using lots of Stickles glitter on all the die cuts,, just to make it really sparkle and although you can't see it well in the photos, the shimmer from the paint and the sparkle from the gems and glitter glue make this project really shine. These will look fabulous as part of my Christmas/winter decorations.

Craft Box Design Team Post - Mini Envelope Album

Good afternoon and welcome to a new DT post for me. I applied for the Craft Box DT post ages ago and will admit I actually forgot that I had done it until the lovely Anna added me to a Facebook group just for the team. With everything else going on at work, it had completely slipped my mind, so was a lovely surprise to find out I had made the team!

Anyway I got my box of goodies this week and thought I would have a play and do something a little different for me! In the box were 4 pearlescent mini envelopes and I knew I wanted to use them somehow to make a mini album. After browsing on Pinterest I decided to make this cute album.

I used lots of goodies from the box including the patterned papers, flowers, pearls, charm, gem, washi tape/stickers and envelopes of course.

Here is the box closed...

And opened... I added a couple of tags on the inside folds to add some journaling to.

And with the inserts showing the washi tape/stickers, to which photos or more journaling could be added. A completely different style of project for me, but I had lots of fun playing around creating this one!

This mini envelope album is also for
