Fantasy Friday #30 Featuring Unicorn Birthday from Isabel Cristina Stamps

Good morning and welcome to another of my Fantasy Friday posts. This week I have used the adorable to make a bright, fun birthday card.

I do love my unicorns and saw a friend of mine using these digi stamps, so had to go and buy them. I love the idea of a rainbow mane and that's where the colour combo came from! However, it is harder to match colours to it when you have so many, so hopefully these papers from the Rainbow Magic pad from Hobbycraft work well enough.

Recipe:

Papers: Chocolate Chip (Retired) from Stampin' Up, Rainbow Magic Patterned Papers from Hobbycraft, Make It colouring Blending card from Make It Crafty

Fantasy Friday #29 Featuring Once Upon A Time from Christine Karron

Good morning and welcome to this week's Fantasy Friday post! This week I have another colouring for you using this gorgeous image, Once Upon A Time, from Christine Karron, which is for the monthly challenge in her fan Facebook group. There was also an added twist to this month's challenge which was to write a story to go along with this image!

I'm not great at story writing, but here's my attempt...

"No, it can't be them already!" Kiara whispered.
"Quick, let's move just in case," Riordan replied.

They quickly began to make their way through the forest, deeper and deeper, darker and darker, but they could still hear the pounding of heavy footfalls behind them, getting louder and louder as they got closer and closer. Riordan kept a tight grip on his beloved's hand, knowing that if they were caught he would never see her again. Hearts pounding like drums trying to burst through their chests, they kept on going, even though their legs felt like they would give way any moment now.

They finally arrived at the circle of gigantic oak trees in the middle of a clearing. This was their only chance to activate the portal out of Faerie that would save them. Kiara looked all around, but nothing or no-one was there...yet.

"Hurry, Riordan. Please!" she frantically cried, glancing in every direction still. She knew that should her father's men capture her, she would be whisked away to the dungeon and very likely be killed and all because she had fallen in love with the wrong Fae. Riordan was one of the Light Fae, one who used the power of the Sun and light, whereas she was one of the Shadow Fae, one who used the powers of dark magic. Light and dark magics should never mix, but she couldn't stop the feelings that had developed for Riordan over the many months they had been meeting at the lake. She loved him with all her heart and would do anything to be with him forever, even if that meant leaving her family and friends behind.

Her father, who was king of his realm, just did not understand her love for Riordan and once her wings had started to fade from the deepest black to a lighter purple, she could no longer hide the fact that she was starting to change. She was utterly in love and they had no other choice, but to run.

Riordan had cast the runes on the barks of the trees and was just about the carve the final mark of the last rune when out of the trees burst three of the Shadow Fae guards, all dressed in black with the purple emblem of the Shadow Fae on their chest armour.

"Halt right there!" the tallest one shouted at them. Kiara gasped and slowly stepped back towards Riordan. "I said halt!" the guard repeated, whilst the other two knocked arrows into their bows and aimed them at each of distraught lovers.

"You cannot take us," Kiara cried. "We belong together!"
"Just let us go," Riordan demanded, his eyes pleading silently at the head guard.

Seeing the guards hesitate ever so slightly, Fae Princess Kiara moved closer to the ring of trees. Riordan moved his hand to finish the final mark. The portal began to swirl, light engulfing the ring of trees. He grabbed Kiara's hand and pulled her in, not knowing where this portal would lead them, but together they could face anything.

Hope that wasn't too bad!

Good morning and welcome to this week's Fantasy Friday post. Today I am sharing one of my favourite fairy images from La-La Land Crafts and used the mushrooms and flowers from the same digi stamp set as well.

I did find it hard to find some patterned papers to match the colours of the image for this one. I tend to colour as and when I can and just randomly choose colours without thinking about what I will put with it sometimes! I think these colours work ok though!

Good evening and welcome to this week's Fantasy Friday post! I am late posting it this week as I just didn't get time before Friday to upload the photos, but it's here at long last!

This week I have joined in with the Cute As A button Facebook Progressive Challenge and this month's image is this cute Love Fairy, perfect for Valentine's or Galentine's cards! This one will go to my best friend Michele, just to let her know that I love her!

Fantasy Friday #25 Featuring Genie Marci from La-La Land Crafts

Good morning and welcome to this week's Fantasy Friday post. As always I share one of my fantasy creations and this week using one of my new La-La Land Crafts digis, Genie Marci. I love these digis, but like most of my stamps, I never get round to using them as often as I would like!

Anyway...here she is. I used some old retired papers from Stampin' Up and then my previously unused Twinkle Star die from Creative Expressions, which was the perfect background for her!

Happy New Year!

Good morning! I usually do a favourites post of all my cards of the year on New Year's Eve, but I forgot this time! So here it is today instead!

I made quite a few changes with the design teams I was on last year. I felt I was spending so much time making projects for the design teams that I lost my mojo and my love of crafting a bit. At times, it felt a bit like a chore, but I have now dropped down to three teams and have more time to do more of my own crafting which makes me much happier! I get to use the images and make the cards in my own style, rather than having to be prescriptive so often!

Anyway...

Delicious Doodles was a small DT that I was on, but unfortunately the term didn't last for long as after 12 months, Teri, the owner of Delicious Doodles, decided to close the challenge blog down. My favourite card from being on this DT was actually my last card for this DT - a Gothic wedding card! You can read more about this card here.

Whimsy Stamps is one of my favourite companies for cute images and fabulous sentiments. I decided to step down from this DT in June as I had been on the DT for 1 year and 4 months and to be honest I was struggling to keep up with the weekly creations. At that time, I was teaching in a school with a very challenging class and a very challenging set of expectations and I was working all the hours I could to keep on top of my workload. (Luckily I have now left that school and moved on to much better things!).

My favourite card for this team was really hard to choose as I loved so many of them, but eventually decided to go with Fairy and her Bunny. You can read more about this card here.

Another team I stepped down from in June last year was the Ching-Chou Kuik Challenge blog team. I had been on this team for almost four years and I felt I needed a change. I love these images, but I felt lots of my cards were becoming the same old thing every time, so I stepped down with this gorgeous project using Aloha Lady. You can read more on my blog post here.

Polkadoodles was a DT I was only on for a very short amount of time. Although I love the images, I just felt the team wasn't for me, so left after my initial term of 3 months was up. My favourite card was this one using Frosty Penguins from the Octavia Frosted Winter Collection. You can read more on this post.

Faery Ink is one of the DTs that I have been on for a while now. Although the team kind of disbanded for a while, I stayed on and did a couple of projects a month for Amanda, while she was going through some personal stuff. The team started up again at the end of the summer and Amanda has released lots of fabulous new images. However, my very favourite was the Unicorn Masquerade collection that Amanda released in May and here was my project. you can read more about this project on my blog post here.

I started at Little Miss Muffet Stamps as a guest designer and when Lyn asked if I wanted to stay on, I went with a yes! I love these images and although it is back to a weekly project, I am now in a better position work wise and I have a lot more time on my hands. My favourite project for this DT was another hard one to choose as I love the Polka Dot Pals images and have used several of them this past year. In the end I decided to go with this card using the adorable Polka Dot Pals Maeve. There's more here on my original post.

And my final Design Team that I am on is The Paper Shelter. I have been on this team since March 2014 and I just all their images. This one was so hard to choose a favourite for - just glad I only had a year's worth of cards to look through! In the end, I decided to choose this one as my favourite because I was so pleased with the colouring on this one. I draw and coloured the background by myself, which for someone who cannot draw was a feat in itself. I was really proud of how this one came out! You can read more about it here.

The final favourite I am going to share with you all from my creations last year is from my Fantasy Friday posts that I have been doing since the summer. I decided to start these as I have a huge collection of fantasy images - fairies, mermaids, unicorns, dragons etc - and never had the opportunity to use them because of all the DTs I was on. Once I had left a few in the summer, I had the time to create using my own choice of images, which lead to doing these posts every week and believe it or not I have managed to keep it up! I wasn't sure I would!

Anyway this card uses Message In A Bottle from Simply B Stamps. You can read more on my original post here

Phew! If you have got to the end with all that, thank you so much! I hope you have enjoyed seeing all my favourites from the last year! I really enjoyed looking back at them all myself too and found some I had forgotten that I had made.

Fantasy Friday #20 Featuring Snowflake Dancer from Wee Stamps

Good morning and welcome to my 20th Fantasy Friday post! I have really enjoyed making the cards for this post every week and love all the different stamps that I have been using instead of letting them just collect dust, or in the case of digis, just sitting on my computer!

Today's post features Snowflake Dancer from Wee Stamps, which I bought as a digi stamp ages ago, probably years ago, and have never used! Isn't she just a darling though?! I went for a purple colour combo as this card is for my best friend Michele, whose favourite colour is purple. I did get carried away with all the flowers but I do love how it came out in the end!

Fantasy Friday #19 Featuring Frosty Fairy Friends from Lawn Fawn

Good morning and welcome to this week's Fantasy Friday post. This is my fourth card in a row that happens to be pink! I think there might be a theme appearing here - fairies and pink go together so well, just like bread and jam!

I used the adorable Frosty Fairy Friends from Lawn Fawn for this one and just stamped several of the stamps in the set to create a sweet, little scene. Everything was coloured with my Copics and then touches of clear star Gelly Roll Pen added for a little sparkle. I used Liquid Applique for the snow and tried to avoid the grass I had added so you can just see a few blades peeking through the fluffy, white snow.

Fantasy Friday #18 Featuring All I Want from Clearly Besotted

Good morning and welcome to this week's Fantasy Friday post. This week I am using the magical All I want set from Clearly Besotted. I actually bought this stamp set in protest as my boyfriend insisted I had every kind of stamp imaginable for making Christmas cards, so I bought this one (with some others) to prove that I hadn't as I didn't have a cute Christmas unicorn set! 😛

I used my Star Dust Die from Sugar Pea Designs to make it look like the flying unicorn was leaving a glittery trail of presents behind and love how it came out! Exactly as I imagined which hardly ever happens!

Fantasy Friday #17 Featuring Teeny Tiny Townie Gingerbread House from Stamping Bella

Good morning and welcome to my latest Fantasy Friday post! This week I have used the adorable Teeny Tiny Townie Gingerbread House from Stamping Bella. I loved the whole Christmas collection that Stamping Bella brought out this year, but I limited myself to buying just one stamp. I am trying to be good!

I went with one of my favourite Christmas combos for this one - pink, brown and white! Even though the glitter card was a nightmare for shedding, I just love how this one came out!

This card is also for
As You Like It Challenge Rubber or Digi? (I prefer digis for main images, but sometimes you just have to buy rubber for these kind of cute stamps!)

Fantasy Friday #15 Featuring Under The Sea by C.C.Designs

Good morning and welcome to this week's Fantasy Friday post! Today I am sharing a card I made using the gorgeous Under The Sea stamps from C.C. Designs. This is another set that I have had for ages and have never used before! I am so bad at buying stamps, both physical and digital ones, but never using them! I am trying to actually use everything I buy now and am trying to put myself on a bit of a crafting stash ban! (Not sure how long that will last though LOL)

I created the background using my Distress Oxides and my Making Waves stencil and love how it came out! I am definitely going to do this again!

Fantasy Friday #13 Featuring Mermaid Sabrina from Make It Crafty

Good morning! Welcome to another of my Fantasy Friday posts! This week I am sharing my colouring of Mermaid Sabrina by Make It Crafty from the colouring class that Zoe has created. I really enjoyed this class and love how this came out all except the sand! My copics either ran out ir went sticky part way through so had to do lots of cleaning and adapting to try and make it work and it ended up being a bit too brown for my liking, but I persevered and I think it was ok.

I do intend on trying again, but with clean and full markers before I start next time!

I'm not sure if I am allowed to share the Copic colours used for this colouring class, but if you want to check it out then you can check it out here
