WellNails ~ Oh, Honey…!

WellNails ~ Oh, Honey…!
Red jelly base with black and red glitters and hexes

Oh, Honey…! is another polish that has been sitting in my box of untrieds for way too long. I bought it way back when, because I have a soft spot for red/black polishes.

Application was easy and the glitter spreads out without much of a hassle. You may be able to get away with two coats, but I wasn’t satisfied before a third coat had been applied. Drying time between coats is average.

I applied a layer of fast drying topcoat and then my mani was done.

Here’s three coats and one layer of topcoat:

I love the mix of red and black and that the glitters come in various sizes. The polish looks really squishy!

It reminds me of ladybirds, red with black dots.

That’s my simple but pretty mani for now. I didn’t add any nail art to it, because there’s so much going on in the polish on its own. I like the red – it’s squishy and great looking.

“Oh, Honey…!” is inspired by the TV series How I met your Mother. Here’s what the creator of WellNails say about Oh, Honey…!:

- When I first started off in the wonderful world of polish, Katy Perry was a big inspiration to me. One of the first polishes I ever bought off eBay was, in fact, Teenage Dream. Katy always have so inspirational manicures, so when she appeared on the show, I just knew I had to make a polish in her honour.
The colours are inspired by the red top with black dots she wears in the episode called 'Oh, Honey...' where she plays this very naïve girl that makes everyone go 'Oh, Honey..!' everytime she says stuff like: "My building is so secure. My landlord even installed a security camera in my shower."

The description of the episode is WellNails’ own text from the website (which is temporarily closed at the moment), where you can buy this glitter for DKK 80. And yes, they do ship internationally!

WellNails ~ Did you just Mosby me?

WellNails ~ Did you just Mosby me?
Clear base with red glitter, purple shreds and red and pale pink hearts

So here’s an indie polish from a Danish girl! But first – my underwear:

I used red and black as a base for this glitter. I used Essence “Black is Back” which is my favourite black crème, and Isadora “Orient Express”, which is an amazing deep shimmery red. They are both one coaters, which is a huge plus in my book!

Here’s that first step:

Now that we got the underwear cleared up, let get to the real deal: The glittah!

I applied one coat of “Did you just Mosby me?” over both the black and the red. It looks fantastic on the black, and it gives the red a surprisingly good look! And yes, I did have to go fishing for the hearts, but they were very easy to find, so it wasn’t a big deal. The glitter spread out nicely, I didn’t have to dab much!

There’s still no top coat involved, but here’s that step:

Now for the final touch: Stamping! I used a black no name stamping polish, and Cheeky’s stamping plate CH5, and stamped a heart on each ring finger and two on my thumbs. Then I topcoated the whole thing with my faithful Poshé top coat:

I am really happy with this:

One last pic because I’m pretty proud of this mani!

And there you have it. So : “Did you just Mosby me?” is inspired by the TV series How I met your Mother, episode "The Leap" from season six: Robin learns Barney might be in love with her, and she wonders about how to let him down easily. Marshall suggests that she do what Ted did on his first date with Robin. Something that turned her off immediately - he did 'the mosby' and told her he was in love with her.

The description of the episode is WellNails’ own text from the website, where you can buy this glitter for $10. And yes, they do ship internationally! ;)

WellNails ~ Drunken Nights at MacClaren’s

WellNails ~ Drunken Nights at MacClaren’s
Clear base packed with multisized green glitter in various green shades, with darker green half moons

I’m very proud to present this polish to you, because WellNails is – as far as I know – the very first indie brand in Denmark. And I was so lucky to win a mini bottle of this great glitter in a giveaway.

But first I needed to put on some underwear for it. I went for a duochrome shimmer polish from Cosmetic Arts. It doesn’t seem to have a name or a number, which is a pain, but it’s purple, shifting discretely to green and golden. I thought it would be perfect underwear for a green and golden glitter. And for two of my nails I went for a plain black crème, namely Essence’s “Black is Back”, which is a perfect one coater.

One coat of black, two coats of Cosmetic Arts, and no top coat on either of them. Here’s how that looks:

Then I applied one layer of Drunken Nights at MacClaren’s. The polish is packed with glitter. One dip in the bottle and the brush is loaded with glitter. It was easy to spread, no problems in that department at all. And drying time was good!

I sealed it all up with a coat of Seche Vite top coat:

I really like this glitter, I love the colours and the quality, and I’ve already ordered some more of them.

The name refers to a TV series (still) I haven’t seen, “How I met your Mother”. I suppose I should to check it out at some point, because people are (still) talking really positively about it, even though it’s been around for quite a long time.
