Lilypad ~ Soul Revival

Lilypad ~ Soul Revival
Green linear holo

Today I’m going to show you a beautiful green holographic polish: Soul Revival.

I wasn’t thrilled with the final mani but that’s my own fault and not the polish’s fault.

Let me show you what I’m talking about. This is the final mani in the sun:

And here’s the same thing in the lightbox.

I didn’t like the way the dots came out for two reasons:
1. Soul Revival is a bleeder. That means that my silver dots turned out gold the moment I topcoated my mani
2. I made the dots a bit too big

So you see, the polish is (partly) innocent. I could have topcoated the mani before I made dots to avoid the bleeding – I’ll probably dot that next time, now that I actually know it’s a bleeder. And I could have used a dotting tool with a smaller head.

Anyway. The polish is really good. I used two easy and fast drying coats for my mani. This is what it looks like on its own. Two coats, no topcoat, photo is taken in the sun.

And this is Soul Revival in the lightbox. It’s such a pretty green.

Here are the polishes I used:

Lilypad: Soul Revival, Colors by Llarowe: Sparkling Diamonds stamping polish, El Corazón: Light Green stamping polish

I really like this green!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Fast

Marc Jacobs ~ Desire

Marc Jacobs ~ Desire
Clear red shimmer

Yesterday I showed you Blue Velvet from Marc Jacobs, and today I’m going to show you the other one I bought. It’s red and shimmery and very beautiful, wait and see.

The formula is really good and the polish need two easy coats to reach full opacity. The drying time is good. Desire has a thinner consistency than Blue Velvet so this is not a true one coater like its sister.

But here it is: Two coats and no topcoat in the sun:

I added glitter because I love glitter. I used #656 from Nilens Jord. It’s a lovely mix of orange hexes and glitters in a clear base. I dipped the brush once in the bottle for each nail. The drying time is average.

Here’s how beautiful it is over Desire.

I added holo flecks as well! I used my faithful topper from El Corazón. It’s number 421h/25.

Here’s the final result in the sun:

And this is what it looks like in the shade.

The pretties:

Desire is also a winner in my book. I actually wanted to buy 1 or 2 Marc Jacobs polishes more, but the rest they had were all crèmes and I’m not so hooked on that, as you may know by now :)

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Very good
Finish: Shimmer
Overall impression: Wow, I love the colour and the shimmer – and the quality

Nilens Jord ~ 656

Nilens Jord ~ 656
Copper orange glitter

I have been trying to find a good orange glitter for a while, but haven’t had any luck. I ended up getting one for my birthday, yay!!!

I used it for an yellow/orange/red mani, take a look:

I sponged the three colours onto my nails and kept sponging until I had the look I was after. Then I applied a layer of glitter on top of it to make it all come together.

I really like the look of this, it’s like my nails are on fire!

Here are the polishes I used:

Moyra #65 and #63, Essence Glamourous Me, Nilens Jord #656

I am so glad to have a great orange glitter now!

Number of coats: 1 for the glitter
Drying time: Good
Finish: Clear base with glitter
Overall impression: I love this glitter
Buy again: I would!
