KBShimmer ~ Thistle be the Day

KBShimmer ~ Thistle be the Day
Pale lavender linear holo

Thistle be the Day is from the Spring 2016 collection just like Blue-d Lines that I showed you earlier.

Thistle be the Day is pale, paler than I usually go for, but I bought it because the bottle is full of amazing rainbows. The formula is good and covers well – I ended up with two coats for this mani. The drying time is good.

So, this is two coats and no topcoat taken in the sun:

Aren’t those rainbows just fantastic!? I love them!
This is what the polish looks like in the shade. It’s obvious that it isn’t my colour at all.

I spiced it up with nail vinyls and a polish from Black Bird called Holo for Yolo. It isn’t holo at all though, it a purple to blue duochromatic shimmer :D It actually wasn’t perfect for this mani because the coverage wasn’t fantastic, but never mind, now I’ve tried it.

This is my final mani, including a layer of topcoat.

Not quite the effect I was after but I like it nonetheless.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Linear holo
Overall impression: I love the rainbows!

OPI ~ Let your Love shine

OPI ~ Let your Love shine
Deep red shimmer

Let your Love shine is from OPI’s Christmas collection 2015 “Starlight”. I’m not a huge OPI fan as a rule, so this is my only pick from the collection.

I used two easy coats for my mani. The drying time was good. I must admit that I’m quite impressed with the formula and the quality of this polish, and that’s a huge thing when it comes from me, haha!

Take a look at how beautiful it is:

The shine is sooo pretty.

I made some pink dots by the base of my nails with BlackBird’s “Metallic Orchid” and topped the whole thing with El Corazón holo glitter topper with the number 421h/25. It’s such a great topper.

Here’s my final mani taken with flash:

Low light picture:

I’m so pleased with this polish, I think it’s gorgeous!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good

Overall impression: Gorgeous colour, great polish, I’m impressed

Blackbird ~ Metallic Orchid & Glitzermaniac

Blackbird ~ Metallic Orchid & Glitzermaniac
A birthday present

Today I’m wearing two polishes that my boyfriend bought me for my birthday: Two Blackbird polishes. I am not familiar with the brand so I was excited to try them out.

Metallic Orchid is a metallic baby pink polish. It’s really opaque and covers in one single coat. I applied a second coat to see if it made a difference but it didn’t. So yes: It’s a one coater. Drying time is pretty average. It tends to show the brush strokes, just like most other metallics I know of.

I forgot to take a picture of it on its own, so let’s move on to the next step right away: The glittah!

Glitzermaniac is a clear base packed with small dusty pink glitter. I love it! I sponged glitter on the tips of my nails, sealed the whole thing with topcoat, and here’s my final mani taken in daylight:

I find it extremely difficult to photograph metallic polishes, they usually freak my camera out. These were my best shots.

Is that just a perfect couple or what?

I love birthday presents like this one!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Average
Finish: Metallic / glitter
Overall impression: A really nice couple of polishes. The glitter works over lots of colours and I will test out if the metallic stamps.
