Essence ~ Glitter in the Air!

Essence ~ Glitter in the Air!
Green and holographic microglitter

“Glitter in the Air!” is from Essense’s “Glitter On Glitter Off”-collection just like “Spotlight On!” that I showed you yesterday. Today I decided to use my peel off-glitter for nail art.

I started out with two easy coats of Sephora’s “Tribal Tattoo”.

Then I dripped a bit of “Tribal Tattoo”, a bit of Essence’s “Glitter in the Air” and Artistic Colour Revolution’s “Under the Overalls” on a piece of plastic. Then I dipped my sponge in the mix and sponged it onto my nails.

When that was all dry I topped it with topcoat and my manicure was done.

Here it is:

The grey gives the manicure a bit of a cloudy look. I think it would have looked really nice with white as well.

These are the three polishes I used today.

I like this glitter!

Number of coats: I used it for nail art.
Drying time: Average
Finish: Glitter
Overall impression: Pretty glitter, formula not fantastic, neither is drying time
Buy again: Yes, for nail art

Kiko ~ Power Pro #58

Kiko ~ Power Pro #58
Dark red shimmer

Kiko makes some amazing polishes! I always check out their stores when I’m on holiday in a country where Kiko resides.

Today I’m wearing a beautiful dark red shimmer from the series of Power Pro nail lacquers.

The formula is really good and the polish glides on like butter. I could easily have got away with one single coat! I added a second coat anyway but it wasn’t really necessary.

I used a coarse sponge to apply the grey shimmer polish that made the pretty effect on my nails. I used “Under the Overalls” from “Artistic Color Revolution”.
When that was dry I applied a layer of holo flakie topcoat from El Corazon. The topper hasn’t got a name but a number, which is 421h/25.

Here’s the final result in ordinary daylight, no sun.

This is the same thing in the lightbox. I really like the effect.

And here’s Kiko’s #58 alone. This is two coats and no topcoat. The photo is taken in daylight, no sun.

This is the stuff I used today. The sponge wasn’t particularly good for the purpose – it was a bit too stiff and unbendable.

What can I say: Kiko Power Pro #58 is a winner!

Number of coats: 2 but 1 is enough
Drying time: Good
Finish: Shimmer
Overall impression: Great polish, I love the formula, the finish and the colour

OPI Infinite Shine ~ My Private Jet

OPI Infinite Shine ~ My Private Jet
Brown linear holo

OPI describes “My Private Jet” like this: “Luxurious deep black with glints of glamour”. To me it’s definitely brown, and those ”glints of glamour” are definitely a holo effect.

The formula is good. I used two easy and fast drying coats for full opacity.

I stuck a butterfly on my ring finger nail and made some dots on the remaining nails. The butterfly is golden and the dots are made in copper. I used Barry M’s “Copper Mine” for the dots.

Here’s my final manicure photographed with flash.

This is “My Private Jet” alone; two coats and no topcoat. The photo is taken in daylight, no direct sun. I definitely see it as brown.

Here’s the same thing photographed with flash. There are way more rainbows in the bottle than on the nails but I’m still impressed.

Here are the polishes I used today. The grey is Artiste Colour Revolution’s “Under the Overalls”, and I used that for a single dot on each nail.

I’m usually not crazy about browns but I must admit that I like this one.
