...Another amazing card from Easter Island, this one shows more general views of the island and the girl is wearing typical clothing and dances a typical dance.
I think the back of the card says it all:
A mysterious island paradise full of life an color. Such is RAPA NUI, leaving an indelible impression on the memory...
Easter Island (Rapa Nui: Rapa Nui, Spanish: Isla de Pa
scua) is a Polynesian island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeastern most point of the Polynesian triangle. The island is a special territory of Chile. Easter Island is famous for its monumental statues, called moai created by the Rapanui people. It is a world heritage site with much of the island protected within the Rapa Nui National Park.
This site is dedicated to my hobby: collecting written and stamped (from country of origin) postcards! Postcard collecting is a very addictive hobby, but its a lot of fun, and you get in touch with lots of nice people worldwide...

I think this is one of my most favoutite received cards... but a trip to Easter Island and to see this amazing and so mysterious statues are on top of my wishlist...I think it must be one of the strangest and most magical places on earth!! Because this probably remains a dream... to have a card from the site in my collection is certainly the second best thing...

They where built to watch over ancient settlement and all stand with their back to the ocean.
