BRAZIL ~ Pantanal - UNESCO ~

... Amazing nature view of the world's largest tropical wetland area and flooded grasslands... a wildlife haven and one of Brazil's biggest hidden gems... it floods in the wet season and therefore it is an extremely important unique ecosystem for the conservation of biological diversity and is a habitat for several worldwide threatened species... the abundance and diversity of its vegetation and animal life are spectacular... one of the many activities you can enjoy is a boat ride... it’s a great way to spot animals and enjoy the unique scenery of the area... unfortunately its headwaters, in particular, are at high risk... more than 55% of the Pantanal’s headwaters have already been deforested... Thanks Rute!【ツ】

... Great views of a unique small colonial town in Brazil... a well preserved historical centre with peaceful atmosphere that has preserved much of its colonial heritage... also known as Goias Velho, and lies magically in the Serra Dourrado hills.... this town is living proof and witness of how central Brazil was occupied and colonized during the 18th and 19th centuries... the settlement of Goías is closely linked to the discovery of gold and precious stones... home to baroque churches, old houses, chapels, cobblestone streets and interesting museums... Thanks Rubens!!【ツ】
Goías was founded during the Gold Rush that took place in 18th century in Brazil by the famed Bandeirante explorer Bartolomeu Bueno da Silva, nicknamed Anhangüera, and was called in colonial times Vila Boa ("good village" in Portuguese). ...A fantastic choice of card for a F1 lover...a homage to Senna one the greatest  racing drivers ever...
Thanks a lot Elton!!

With lots of nice stamps.
In 1995, the City of São Paulo (under Ibirapuera Park) commissioned a sculpture in his honor to mark the entrance of the Ayrton Senna Tunnel. Entitled “Speed, Soul and Emotion”, the sculpture also displays a Brazilian flag, in memory of Senna’s trademark gesture of celebrating every victory by raising the Brazilian flag inside his car.

Three-time world champion in 1988, 1990 and 1991, Ayrton Senna da Silva was Brazil’s greatest pride in Formula 1 car racing. He is one of Brazil’s most famous sports figures and one of the best car racers of all times.

In 1994 at the San Marino Grand Prix, Senna’s successful career and glorious life came to an abrupt end. As he rounded the Tamburello corner, Senna lost control over the car and crashed violently into a concrete wall. Nothing could be done to save his life. Ayrton Senna, the famous Brazilian sports hero, died in a tragic car accident.

Peaks of the Southern Atlantic submarine ridge form the Fernando de Noronha Archipelago and Rocas Atoll off the coast of Brazil. They represent a large proportion of the island surface of the South Atlantic and their rich waters are extremely important for the breeding and feeding of tuna, shark, turtle and marine mammals. The islands are home to the largest concentration of tropical seabirds in the Western Atlantic.
