GAMBIA ~ Kotu Beach ~

...Stunning reddish-orange sunset view... this coastal town is a very popular place in Gambia for a wonderful sun holiday... the beautiful beaches with waving palm trees and the surrounding nature reserves attract many holidaymakers... this is also the reason why there are many beautiful hotels and resorts... the warm and shallow water make Kotu ideal for families... but surfers and other water sports enthusiasts can also enjoy themselves here... it is one of the most lively places to be in The Gambia... Thanks a lot dear Andrene!(✿ ♥‿♥)

The Gambia is a small country located on the western coast of Africa, surrounded by Senegal except for its coastline along the Atlantic Ocean. Banjul is the capital and largest city of the country.

Gambia is named after the Gambia River, which runs through the country.

The country gained independence from British colonial rule in 1965, and celebrates Independence Day annually.

GAMBIA ~ Green Vervet Monkey - Bijilo Forest Park ~

... Lovely monkey🐒 views at the Bijilo Forest Park ... a small rainforest nature reserve home to various mammalian species... the green monkey is the most tourist tolerant beast in West Africa... sadly the monkeys have often been fed by visitors in the park and this has caused issues, and the park is nominally trying to stop this practice, though park staff still regularly sell visitors peanuts to feed to the monkeys... this will reduce their fear of humans and disrupt their natural behaviour, which then increases the danger of small primates being stolen or hurt... there are plenty of fruit trees and other naturally growing foods for them to feed on... Thanks a lot Alena!ヽ(ヅ)ノ

GAMBIA ~ Flag ~

... Great flag view from the FOTW postcard series... coming from the smallest country on mainland Africa although it has one of Africa’s densest populations... the national flag of Gambia was adopted in 1965 after gaining independence from Britain... it is designed in such a way that it not show any political influences or bias so that it could represent the nation as a whole... this fact makes the flag of Gambia one of the few national flags in Africa that is not derived from the flag of an existing political party or movement... the red refers to the sun, the blue represents the Gambia River, the green represents the land, and the white stands for unity, peace, and purity... Thanks Alena!ヽ(ヅ)ノ

GAMBIA ~Tanji Fishing Village ~

... Another great new African country to add to my collection👍... panoramic postcard showing nice views of local life... this famous fishing village is one of the most colorful and authentic places to visit in Gambia... each day, when the fishing boats arrive, the locals walk into the sea to assist the fishermen to unload their catch and carry it onshore where it’s immediately sold on the Tanji Fishing Market... it's a bustling market where people are selling, smoking, salting and drying huge piles of many species of fish... the equipment is very basic (old fridges with ice in them) and smoking over wood... far from European hygiene standards but a fascinating place to wonder round... almost every local in Tanji is involved in the fish industry... Thanks Alena!【ツ】

The Gambia also commonly known as Gambia, is a country in West Africa. It is almost completely surrounded by Senegal and is the smallest country on mainland Africa.

Tanji is a town along the Atlantic coast. This remote fishing village is serves as the main distributor of seafood to the neighboring villages including resorts.
