Cut Works Book - Pages 7-12

Sketchbook 50
This book is for my collection of paper cuts. These were mainly designed on my tablet, transferred to the computer, then brought into 'Make the Cut' as a pixel trace and then cut with my cutting machine. The machine is a KNK Zing Air. I've used a variety of papers, cards and fabric.

The design doesn't show up very well on this patterned paper

Three designs joined together

Cut Works Book - Pages 1-6

Another sketchbook I have recently finished is to keep a copy of my designs that I created for use with my cutting machine. [MKN Zing Air]. Most of the designs were created on my tablet then transferred to the computer. I've used different kinds of paper, card, and the odd bit of fabric. Some didn't cut too well [learning curve] but I've still included some of them for reference. Sometimes the design was at fault, sometimes the settings.

If you don't know what a cutter looks like, here is a picture of mine. It works like a plotter.

I've also finished another blanket - made from some old machine knitted samples stitched to a fleece blanket. It's a bit of a mix match but will be handy.

Handmade Sketchbook - Pages 8-15

I used one of my round cutouts as a stencil.

The rabbit cut out is not my design. I filled the spaces with Glossy Accents.

The trouble with painting on envelopes is that the paint bleeds thru.

I used the cut out from a greetings card as a stencil for this tree.

Handmade Book [Book 45]

This is a hand made book, the pages are made up of hand painted papers, music, maps, prints of work, envelopes, greaseproof backing paper etc The cover is hand painted fabric embellished with freehand machine embroidery and hand embroidery. I finished the book itself in February last year but didn't use it straight away, but I've been working in it recently and have almost completed it.

I forgot to take photos of the front and back straight on when I did the top two so I took the pictures of these just now [at night] when the lighting was not so good but the colour is not quite right.

Resist marks made with candle, then collage and painted

Miniature Garden

I started a miniature garden a few weeks ago but I don't know if you can tell what's what from the photo. I made a house from twigs using a glue gun, then covered the top with soggy moss. The doors were made from a couple of corner stretchers that come with a blank canvas. There is a little chair also made of twigs. The steps made from broken plant pots. Trees are rosemary, hebe and fir and plants include ameria martima, a tiny thyme and some kind of succulent. We shall have to wait and see if it thrives.
