daisy preview

I finished Abby's costume yesterday during nap time. She modeled it for me again and again as I made adjustments. Here is a preview --

That little green skirt is one my mom made for me which I wore for a ward Christmas program. It thought it was perfect, especially because Abby loves skirts. I made the top out of the same fabric I used to make Allen's Peter Pan shirt a few years ago. Here is a link for instructions of how to make the daisy headpiece.
Other Tidbits:
  • I'm feeling good about myself about what I got done yesterday. Not only did I finish one costume, but I took care of two infants, finished The New Testament, took Abby to the dentist (with the twins in tow), did a stack of dishes, whipped up a quick and yummy dinner, taught a piano lesson, took Allen to soccer practice (with all the kids in tow), picked up my library books on hold and fixed button on Ross's shirt to his surprise. (It was awesome when Ross reminded me he needed a button sewn on his shirt's sleeve and when he pulled it out to bring it to me, it was done.) And is my house clean? Not very. That's my project for today.
  • Emma took one step yesterday. She was pretty proud of herself for just balancing after she let go of my pant legs. Then she took a step and really grinned. The older two, who saw it too, were more excited than Emma was.
  • Both Emma and Jane were really good at the dentist office, so much that they earned a Minnie Mouse sticker for their shirts and toothbrushes, which they slobbered all over on our way out.
  • Ross is wearing a suit this morning. He has a really exciting hearing this morning. I'm taking Allen to school so he can get into work a little earlier.
  • Allen read his reading homework to Abby yesterday. They also put away all the clean silverware from the dishwasher. But right after school the two of them played dress-up yesterday after school and had quite the combination of props, hats and masks. If I remember right Allen was a Frankenstein pirate.
  • This morning I'm hosting preschool. We are going to talk about wind and sun, hopefully the weather cooperates because last time we talked about clouds and there was not one cloud in the sky.
  • The hallway bathroom door remains closed most of the day. Why? Because the moment it opens it doesn't take long for Jane to get in there and either stand by the tub (which she can fall in if she wants) or play in the toilet. And, unfortunately, most of the time the lid is open from the older kids using it.
  • Ross tells me to look at a menu for a place called Smashburger (because he has a coupon) and he'll pick up some food for our date on his way home. Sounds yummy to me!
