These shows were recorded and at least one show was broadcast live by KUSP-FM, who still own the master reels but are not giving them out. These are copies made in 1980 from those masters for one of the sound crew who mixed the show. They loaned him the reels and a Revox A77 so more than one copy was made at the time and these transfers are the best sounding of them.
I guess this wasn't the only live broadcast from their tour, but I remember that KUSP said that they convinced Bob Marley to let these shows be broadcast by telling Bob that KUSP was within range of Soledad Prison and that the prisoners would be allowed to listen to them, so he agreed.
These recordings have circulated widely, but usually as just one show and either from the FM broadcast or from multi-generation copies of these tapes.
Early show lineage: 7.5 ips 1/2 track reel master > Dolby B cassette recorded on Sony TCD5 transferred with Nakamichi Dragon > Macintosh with DigiDesign AudioMedia III card > Pro Tools > AIFF > Toast Titanium > CD.
Late show lineage: 7.5 ips 1/2 track reel master > 3.75 ips 1/4 track Dolby B reel recorded & transferred with Tandberg 9241XD > Macintosh with DigiDesign AudioMedia III card > Pro Tools > AIFF > Toast Titanium > CD. This late show reel had a few dropouts, but they are barely noticeable and probably only when listening with headphones.
CD extraction with Toast Titanium > xACT (Flac files created with sector boundaries verified). md5 filw created with checkSUM+.
The encores from both shows can be burned onto one disk if you prefer to burn it that way to save a disc.

Kinda dark in some spots but a lot better than other copies of this show I've seen.

Notes:
Bob Marley & The Wailers closing night at the Apollo, an amazing run of seven shows in four days. The whole night accompanied by a fantastic horn section, the band performs a unique show that's one of their best. Several tremendous moments await. Undoubtedly, the Carly bassline and the fine horns, the rhythms will take you on good travels.
Flaws:
Some hiss and buzz, probably from a cassette generation. There's also a bit of distortion due to the analog generational losses. 11 hits on Etree, 10 on Phishook, none lossless, only cd-da. This is a secure EAC extraction with logs included. The source is indefinite, but is free of lossy compression or noise reduction. The buzz/hiss could potentially be remastered to a much lower volume, as there are two extended periods of only noise between songs, nearly 10s without applause. Okay. Feel Bob's spirit. Lord I thank you.

This came to me as BMW 'Midnight Ravers' [recorded at the Shelter Studios, Tulsa, Oklahoma (http://db.etree.org/lookup_show.php?shows_key=441882)], but in fact it is 1973-10-24. There are different versions of this Capitol rehearsal floating around (some with 'Come A Long Way', a New Zealand Documentary from 1979 or Zimbabwe 1980 on the same disc). These versions are approx 29 minutes or 86 minutes long. This Bad Wizard version is almost 180 minutes long. It contains a second rehearsal session (probably shot the same day). The shorter 86 minutes version only contains the first 14 songs (till Get Up Stand Up). Don't let the video bitrate or black bar scare you much (see pics). If I had to rate this 40 year old rehearsal footage I'll give it a solid 7/10.

Notes from Chris Mrachek :
This soundboard recording is far from flawless but is way better now! I spent the better part of two days editing and then mastering this to get this to what it is. The edits were so numerous that i won't even begin to go into all that. The original FLAC files were merged back into a continuous file set of the show prior to editing & mastering. Some of the more interesting edits that were fixed (as best i could) was the first 36 minutes of the show the channels were inverted - which changed during the No Woman No Cry. Also the No Woman No Cry suffered from severe tape issues (again too numerous to go into) which were drastically improved although still far from perfect. I used some EQ'ing, a couple awesome WavelabPro plug-ins, fixing balance (L to R) issues, light limiting in spots, proper fades (where applicable), many level adjustments as well as a parallel compression version blended with the raw "mastered" file to accentuate the best parts of the mix. I decided NOT to use any noise filters as i don't like the frequencies that are inadvertantly removed through these processes and imo remove some valuable audio information. I also chose to keep the small 2nd part of Kinky Reggae that was cut here (with only minor fade edits) for the sake of completeness. This version would imo have to be the definitive version of this great show! I did create some PDF CD covers for those of you still inclined and apoligize for not providing photographers credit as I have no idea who took these photos or where they originated from. The photos are live shots from this concert in Providence, Rhode Island. Without a doubt some incredibly CRUCIAL roots reggae here! Enjoy & One Love - Chris

The Miami show is the last concert from the 1978 Kaya Tour. The first track is distorted in the beginning, but all of the rest sounds great. In the comments is a sample. This show is a reseed. The last time it was upped here was in 2006. (according to Dimes botlist) I did research and didn't found anything that suggested officialy released material in this upload. The info below is edited from the original textfile from 2005. Thanks to the original uploader.

Deeside Leisure Center

Highly recommended, I love it.

When this Remaster appeared on Dime in 2005, it was a very large improvement in sound quality. The sound is excellent: very clear, almost no hiss and no audience noise. "A"
* Lineage *
I only know that the original Dime FLAC torrent was a Soundboard (sorry I didn't save the info.txt file). I used Cool Edit Pro 2.1 merely to retrack it, and TLH to re-encode to FLAC (level 8), which I tagged with Tag Frontend.

None of the files are identical to the original torrent because I renamed them (sorry, in mid-2005 I didn't anticipate ever learning how to upload torrents). Given that, I have now also re-tracked the show; the original tracking placed the opening act at the start of disc one (I have treated it as filler, which was easy because the Bob Marley recording nearly fills one disc, and leaves the filler to a second disc), and it assigned tracks to non-songs (between one pair of songs there were two separate tracks for nothing but crowd noise, and band talk, respectively) which I have not (I think most people want trackmarks to allow listeners to hit 'track forward' to get to the next song, not to calculate song lengths).
Whoever created the original FLACs did a magnificent job; I examined the audio very carefully and found no flaws whatsoever.
"Band lineup
Bob Marley, vocals, rhythm guitar
Aston Barrett, bass
Carlton Barrett, drums
Al Anderson, lead guitar
Junior Marvin, lead guitar
Earl Lindo, organ, clavinet
Tyrone Downie, keyboards
Alvin "Seeco" Patterson, percussion
The I-Threes, backing vocals
[Notes:]
band introductions by Junior during the "Marley Chant"
this is the most complete version, although there is a severe cut in "No More Trouble" due to tape flip. "Could You Be Loved?" is severely cut as well, because the 90 min tape ran out and therefore tracks that were normally played during this tour, "Kinky Reggae", "Get Up, Stand Up" and maybe "Roots, Rock, Reggae" are probably missing here.
other sources exist, most of them missing "No More Trouble" and "Could You Be Loved?", some without the I-Threes' set.
for a long time people thought this show was played in Chester, England and it was traded as such, while this concert actually took place some miles to the west in Queensferry, Wales.
second to last show Bob ever played in the UK and the last show in the UK with a known recording." per http://bobmarleyconcerts.com/1980.php
I heard that :
The Deeside Leisure Centre is usually used as an ice rink.
According to a newspaper article the show concluded with "Get Up, Stand Up".

Bob Marley - 1973-07-11 - Boston, MA (FM/FLAC)
(FM broadcast FLAC)
Pall's Mall
A verry good sounding Radio Broadcast of an early Bob Marley concert!!
Lineage:
WBCN-FM--- FMMR > R > CD > Eac > Wav > Flac
Recorded by the legendary Neil Cronin and copied in a trade in the mid 70's to two Sony PR-150 reels for Taper Pat. Mastered to cd by Matt Smith --- R >apogee mini me (24/96) > apogee mini dac (monitoring) > wavelab 5.0 (dithered to 20/44) > CD (thanks a ton guys!!!) @
01 Intro > Lively Up Yourself
02 400 Years
03 Stir it Up
04 Slave Driver
05 Stop that Train
06 Kinky Reggae
07 Concrete Jungle
08 Get up Stand Up > Outro (DJ Banter)
notes:
@ a little background on this gem. i saw this version of this show on one of Taper Pat's lists and asked for a copy. I believe Matt had part of it and Pat had the rest of it, and then they put it together and sent me a copy. so grateful my friends! new wailers sources of this quality are truly rare and just wonderful. despite the minor blemishes on all copies that come from the set up and station, this is a joy to listen to and i don't think this will get any better. maybe someday we'll see a transfer from the mr or prefm source but that it has taken this long to get this source out, I'm not counting on it.
1st US performance - great show - overall, very enjoyable sound
of course it still has the slight monitor and / or equipment noise and perhaps some fm interference that are present on the commonly available sources (faint hum or buzz and occasional slight crackle?)
morever, we have had a copy with unknown generation and then in 2005 emerged a 3rd gen tape. i really enjoy it but it was edited by a person with little experience. i believe they did a nice job with what they had but there are a few differences between sources:
* this source is a touch longer. it has more of the preshow recorded (bob's short intro). both are complete however.
* the 3rd gen tape has it's volume boosted which also boosts
the volume of the blemishes and crowd. as a result, i believe this
source has a more mellow sound and feel overall.
* the 3rd gen tape sounds tampered with, it has had some "equalizing": it sounds and feels a little unnatural while this seems to have a more steady sound and feel to it. this new source has a fuller range and dynamic of instruments and vocals. in other words, the equalizing seems to both amplify and bury the music resulting in a less authentic and pleasing experience for me.
the edited tape version sounds more tinny and has less warmth than the unedited reel version.
* i can understand the dilemma of to edit or not: i think we need both. while
editing major issues can move toward restoration, it can also distort the actual sound of the show. editing also results in irreversible changes preventing continual improvements or remasters as individual skill and technology improve. it also reflects and embodies the subjective preferences of the editor which is very risky. still if a version can be enhanced to make the listening experience
as enjoyable as it can be at that time, that's nice to have until even better upgrades are possible. I believe it is ideal to have a "raw" or unedited version in order to both preserve the music and allow for the best possible long term improvements.
While I don't think you will be disappointed by either source, especially given the band and what's generally available from them, imo, it's critical that we get this source and upgrade into general circulation.

This is a classic show, one of Bobs best known but has NEVER circulated in this quality. The Knudsen Collection tape was close to perfect. It was missing 4 songs that were added from a SBD source and patched perfectly.

This show has circulated in a few versions. An audience version, and soundboard version, and a mix of soundboard and the audience. The previous SDB says from Master but is not as crisp and clean as this one. This is missing the opening song Natural Mystic which only exisits in audience version at this point. Previous version that combined the Aud and SDB had Positive Vibration from Audience, Revolution was a mix of Audience and Soundboard, Exodus was Audience, Jamming was Audience, and was completely missing Redemption Song. Those tracks are now here in Soundboard and Redemption Song is included. Only real bummer is Jammin was cut on WAV one and continued on WAV two.

Often mislabeled as 6.12.80 as well as 6.26.80
This show comes from Japanese bootleg: Boot -> EAC [high, secure] -> SHN
It is different from most circulating copies since it includes the I-Three's opener and also has very high quality sound. The only known cut in this show is about 5 minutes of crowd clapping before encore. This is one of my favorite shows. Get it if you don't have it.
