notes edited: Today we have something special. I've always thought this video footage to be rather rare and difficult to find. But just last week someone here on ttd offered to send me the video files. I knew how special this was going to be. I had no idea what it was going to contain. I was rather excited to see such an array of talent packed into 52 minutes. This video is really a big deal. Though there have been various versions of the audio track available in the past, this is the first time I've ever seen the video footage. I want to thank ttd member: daj38 for sending me the ISO file. I really don't have a set list to offer, just a list of artists. I'll let you discover what's here. This is the only video transfer that I'm aware of, this is the best copy at this time.

Bill Graham s Fillmore East Last Three Nights, featuring major artists; Albert King, J. Geils Band, Edgare Winter, Mountain, the Beach Boys, Allman Brothers Band, June 1971. The Fillmore East opened in Manhattan in March 1968. Over the next three years it hosted almost every major rock artist of the era, as well as giants of soul, blues, folk, gospel and jazz. Bill Graham decided to close it in June 1971, but before doing so he assembled a remarkable 3-day bill featuring some of the most iconic and influential acts in America, spanning pop (the Beach Boys), blues (Albert King), rock n roll (the J. Geils Band, Edgar Winter, Mountain, the Allman Brothers Band) and folk (Country Joe McDonald a nod towards the venue s psychedelic roots). Presented here is the the entire WNEW-FM broadcast of these historic closing shows, together with background notes and images. 4CD Set.
