This Week,
The Challenge,  #160 is - Share The Good News
we'd like you to use News Print/ Book Print on your project

So, as leader of Team A!
I'd like to present to you my card!

The minute I saw this image, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!
The image I have used is Mother's Day Bouquet.
The sentiment comes with the image if I'm not mistaken!
This little card is for my Mother In Law, the lovely Joyce,
from Hubby & I!
I'm not allowed to call her Mum but I can get away with it for Mother's Day.
She loves to potter in the garden & is very practical.
She isn't a frilly person at all.
I'm hoping she'll love this card as much as I loved making it for her!!!
(I've not even started on my own Mum's Yet!)
I used a 5x5" base card in white linen card stock.
I added a matt of  Green card stock then an embossed DP which I got
in my local craft shop.
just over the road from work!
It's small & doesn't carry an awful lot of stock but I'm hoping
it will expand as time goes on!
I love popping over at lunchtime & picking up some bits & pieces!
I also made a couple of little photo corners.

The image was coloured with Promarkers & I added a matt of the green card.
The print I have used is book print. It's a page from an old book.
I scrunched it up, rubbed it with some distress ink then coated it
a couple of times with PVA glue to give it a bit of a sheen.
This was then adhered to a square frame which I attached over
the image at an angle. I used pinflair glue to give some dimension.
The buttons & ribbon were from my stash!
The sentiment was cut with a nestie & then coloured with
distress ink whilst still in the dies

I decorated the inside of the card to match.
I hope you like my little card!
Now make sure you pop on over to the challenge blog & check out all the
 new DT members wonderful samples!
I'm sure you'll be inspired!
Ooopsy almost forgot to mention our fabby sponsor!!!

Vintage/Shabby Chic & Not For A Dude!!!

Good Evening All,
I have a ladies card to share with you today!
I made it a little while ago, but I couldn't post it at the time as the
recipient hadn't received it yet!
It was made for someone associated with a
Theatre Group Costume Department
Hence the Shabby Chic Theme!

.

The image I've used is one of the Dress Form Trio images from
Deborah Moore at The Crafty Pad Designs.
It's so versatile & suitable for many occasions!
The sentiment was created in my graphics program.
The base card was a brown 5x5 square card blank.
I added a matt of Cored'inations card which I tore around the edges
& rubbed with some Distress ink in Antique Linen.
Next I added a page from a very old book of
"The Works Of Shakespeare"
(I checked it's not valuable before I started to tear out the pages!)
This page is from The Taming Of The Shrew!
It was also subjected to the distress ink treatment after
being crumpled then flattened out again!
I added a little piece of lace edging which was also distressed with ink.

The flower is one of a big package I received from Lee aka Crafty Loops
a while back! Her flowers are absolutely fantastic!
You'll see them popping up on my projects from time to time!
Just under the flower is a little metal measuring tape charm

I also added a pair of scissors with a tiny safety pin & a couple
of buttons just to finish the card off!
I hope you like my card!
I was really chuffed that the person I made it for was delighted!

Since you've stopped by, don't forget to enter my candy draw here
