Autism Awareness Card Freebie at Arda Cards Blog!

Evening all, I've been off hopping around a few blogs & I found this over at Arda Cards Blog!
My friend Suz Brill ( A designer over at Cardmaking Downloads) whose son who has Autistic Spectrum Disorder, has designed some little Autism Awareness Cards. The idea is that the parents or the child can pass these out to explain the reason behind certain types of behaviour in difficult situations!
She's offering them up as a freebie for you to use or to pass on to someone you know who may like to use them! The cards come in all different designs & are completely free to download directly from her blog!
Do pop on over & check it out if you are at all interested!

A Woman's Work!

A woman's work is never done & that goes for this little lady, who is one of the latest additions to the Digi's With Attitude! store this week!

She's called Vacuuming Tween & she's dying to get out with her friends but instead, she's having to clean her room!!!
She's decided to have a bit of fun while doing it & is doing the Hoover Boogie to her favourite old Queen song "I want to break free!" Those of you old enough might remember the video with Freddie Mercury in a dress doing the cleaning!
Which brings me on to this weeks
Challenge#18 over at Digi's With Attitude!
It's a Theme Challenge & is "Anything to do with cleaning!"
Now you don't have to use a Digi's With Attitude! image but we do like to see what you do with them!
This week we once again have a sponsor!

Robyn's Fetish is offering up 2 paper packs, of the winners choice, from their store! This is of course  in addition to the usual prize of a $10 coupon for the Digi's With Attitude! store.
They very kindly provided the DT with some papers to play with for this challenge too!
The papers are from a collection called Coney Island Summers!
I made my card using a twisted easel base! to which I added  a matt of lightweight green card & then the  green floral paper.
I coloured my image with promarkers to match in with the papers & cut her out on the big shot with my latest nesties. I matted her onto a layer of the green textured paper.

I then added a computer generated sentiment, a ribbon from my stash, a paper flower with a rose at it's centre & a couple of punched flourishes!
For base of the easel I used the green textured paper.

The stop was once again a computer generated sentiment cut out with another nestie & matted onto the floral paper & lightweight card!

For balance I added a rose & punched flourishes!
Thank you for looking & I do hope you'll have time to play along! Don't forget to visit the other DT members blogs & comment on their cards too!!!

I have been asked how I made this card and I have to say it was very simple to do!
I took a square card blank, opened it up & scored one half from corner to corner on the diagonal!
I folded over the card & sharpened the fold with a bone folder.
I added the design paper to the base card.
I then took another piece of cardstock the same size as the base card & decorated that with the DPs and my image, flowers etc!
I attached the front to the base & added the sentiment as a stop to retain the card front!
I hope you can follow these instructions! If you do want any more details just ask!!!

I'd like to enter this card for the following challenges

Take Two

Thought I'd share a set of ATC's with you today.  I made these for the February swap over at Cardmaking Downloads forum.
The theme for this month was Love, Friendship or Red.

I chose the love option but steered away from the traditional Valentine Red!!
To make these ATCs I used two decoupage download sheets, Toadally Loved & Toadally a Couple designed by Elaine Hayhoe over at Cardmaking Downloads. The sheets came with matching backing papers which made the job a simple one! (Just as well as the first lot I made went missing in the post! Hence the title Take Two!)
I resized the sheets by adding them to a Word Document. I made them four to a page, which brought them to just the right size, then printed them onto matt photo paper.  I did the same for the papers too then printed them onto cardstock! I cut out & assembled some of the layers from the decoupage sheets using pinflair glue.
I then punched the edges of the printed cardstock using an edge punch & cut to ATC size. I inked the edges then added the decoupage toppers, sentiments & a little pink heart which  found in my stash!
Once again I apologise for the quality of the pic. It was taken at work & the ATCs were still in their little packets but to catch the post I had to be super speedy! I'm already holding up the swap!! I've scheduled this post so fingers crossed it works okay!

Quad Bike Pyramage

Thought I'd share this card with you today!

I apologise for the quality of the pic, it was taken with my craft light shining from above & doesn't show off the rich colours to their best advantage! I maybe should have used a darker background for the pic too!
This is a spring card!
The pyramage is a download sheet designed by Debbie Lauder over at Craftystash!
The design comes with a choice of several matching backing papers.
I printed the pyramage & backing paper onto matt photopaper which gave it an almost velvety look.
The base card was made using a sheet of linen textured white card.
I assembled the pyramage using pinflair glue & matted & layered some of the BPs on to the base card & the black backing for the pyramage using photoglue. The edges of the base card were inked with distress ink, applied using a sponge. I also made a tag to which I added some of the BPs & inked the edges.
I haven't added a greeting yet as I'm not sure that the recipient won't see this card before the important date!!!
This card is my entry to the February Competition over at Craftystash where Debbie is offering some fantastic prizes! (You even get a vote as to which prize you'd prefer!)
The only rule is that you must use one of Debbie's design sheets which are available on both Craftystash & Cardmaking Downloads. There are also a number of freebies there which you can use to enter!
Do pop on over to look for yourself & take part if you can!
