Hunger Games

I read the Hunger Games series again before taking it back to the library. I read it over 7 years ago so it was fun to read it again after seeing the movies with any recently. I also gathered a bunch of Lindsey books to return because now fines will start again. We had hot dog casserole for dinner. The kids finished their 50 episode Scooby Doo dvd set so that could go back to the library too. I dropped hearts off this morning on a porch on my morning walk. And I finished playing their the primary song book.

 You've gotta admire a snail's persistence 👍

This morning I finished my goal of going through the entire Children's Songbook and playing each song on this new-to-me piano. The twins told me they like when I play the piano as they fall asleep at night. I love having music in our home. 🎹❤️

Finished a favorite fable 🌼

Noticed the symbol of the dandelion this time: "...the dandelion reminded me I was not doomed" (bk1, p32); "when I saw the dandelion I knew hope wasn't lost" (bk1, p49); ..."what I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on ... that it can be good again." (bk3, p388) 💛💛💛

Police Hearts

Played Hugger-mugger twice today with Allen (he won) and in the evening with Ross and Allen (Ross won). Ross went with me to Smart & Final to get milk and groceries for our road trip. We had rice dish for dinner. The kids watched Scooby Doo and I marked it beanstack app for all of our reading and all kids have earned a free library book. Abby cleaned the microwave, the girls hallway bathroom, and started doing the doors.

We tried a new game last night and it ended up being hilarious 😆... I love the stage my kids are in!  I'm a little sleepy this afternoon, but it was worth staying up. We love family games & snacks on Sunday nights! It's a fun tradition that started during covid season.

Lesson Outline from yesterday's church meeting that Emma conducted.
Our house is full of hundreds of stuffed animals and they all have names.  These two stuffed friends, Milky Way and Grandpa Monkey, visited me this morning for some #MondayMending 🧵

It's always a special experience when visiting the temple grounds as a family.🥰

I love this truth: "Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally." (Family Proclamation)

😍This is one of my beautiful beehives (from 2013) giving her mission farewell via Zoom. 💻 I loved hearing her testimony. 🥰This photo is my way of getting a photo with her before she goes. 😁  Love you Samantha Merritt 💖 Good luck with French-speaking in Canada!! 🇨🇦

This game was hilarious!! Definitely keeping it. Each game is being played in the house and if it doesn't pass it's sunny into the donation pile. This had been a great time to organize the house.  D&c 88:119

Handiwork & T-shirt Quilt

Saturday morning I got up and left the house at 5:30am and everyone else was still sleeping. It's such a rush to be outside when it's cool and the sun is coming up and the world is quiet. I love my walks and reading time. It is refreshing everyday!

I love the colors of the plants and light.

I grabbed my glasses and also my sunglasses... oops!

I read a quote from Bathsheba Smith in At the Pulpit about handiwork of God and shared this online...
Learning the handiwork of God by the study of nature 🌄
While packing I noticed my t-shirt quilt and took a photo for a pattern for future quilts. :)

Morning Sun and Evening Date

Morning walk with a beautiful sunrise... and I jotted down a thought with it and shared it online as I walked. That night we had a date to Costa Vida and watched 2 eps of Chuck (Halloween & Stanford). Abby did dinner with the kids. I was reading Hunger Games and finished at the part where Cinna pins the Mockingjay on her clothes, tells her he doesn't bet, but if he did he would bet on her and she is going up the tube and is terrified.

"Oh, how merciful is our God! ... he is a merciful Being, even unto salvation, to those who will repent and believe on his name" Alma 24:15; 26:35

Expressive eyes 😆... It's date night and we are waiting in line

BusyTown

I'm wearing my new bracelet...

...and played Busytown with Jill and Emma after breakfast and before pir.
At breakfast I asked the kids what their goals were for the day. E: "I want to play Busytown with you Mom". You got it!! 🕵️‍♀️

Then after we played Emma read Jill all of the Richard Scarry books in the house and found all the figurines in each of the books.
That afternoon I wrote an YW email to go out.

YW: Invite Others | Extended Deadline | Spotlight for Sidney

I sent this email out to all young women, youth leaders and parents... (you can see ALL of the weekly emails on my other blog -- tuckerteentime.blogspot.com)

*****

Hello Young Women & Families,

We have been thinking of you. Hope you enjoyed our C.A.R.E. packages this week!

Three things on Thursday to share with you...

1 ... First, even though we aren't meeting together again this Sunday, I highly encourage you read this week's YW lesson. Click here. Near the end of the lesson are several videos which are great resources to help you study and learn as well as a talk by Sister Sharon Eubank. I distinctly remember when this talk was given a few years ago, and as I read it again this morning, I was reminded it was one the reasons I started posting often to social media and sharing goodness and bearing my testimony. Great talk about sharing our LIGHT with others!

2 ... Second, the stake has EXTENDED the deadline for the pre-camp challenge. They want even more to participate than already have. SO... for anyone that was interested in doing it, but just didn't get it to, you're in luck! The new deadline in July 15th.

3 ... Third, we want to SPOTLIGHT Sidney Fife for finishing the Personal Progress program. I asked her and her mother to share their thoughts about participating in this special program...

Sidney Fife

"My favorite project was my temple scrapbook. I did it for Divine Nature. I collected pictures from my experiences at the temple and put them together in a book. I also wrote about some experiences I had there and even some family history stuff. I included some family name cards that I had done baptisms and confirmations for and wrote about some memories so I wouldn't forget. This helped me know my Divine Nature as a daughter of God because I am worthy to enter His Home."

Christine Fife:

"I am very proud of the way Sidney did her personal progress.  She truly made it a personal activity.  She is very independent and did not include me very much at all.  Even with projects that she had no experience in, like learning to make a wreath, she looked up videos online and learned how to do it, and completed it on her own. I know the program is amazing and am glad she went through the effort, because of how she has grown closer to her Savior through the process."

(one of the wreaths she made)

Congratulations to Sidney Fife!

Thanks for reading and tuning into those 3 things! Remember to read Sunday's lesson and see the camp challenge attachment. Starting your "my 150" challenge is another thing I invite you to do.

Have a great day! -Sister Tucker

Three Blackouts

Week's laundry, grocery shopping cell phone repair calling, we played throw this burrito, I made pork chops and potatoes for dinner, I dropped off a YW award and received a wreath, picked up library books on hold, and three girls completed their primary bingo sheets and all three got blackouts!!

❤️❤️❤️ Three girls, three blackouts! This was a great idea from our primary leaders from church. I love all the service happening in our home.

35 CARE packages

The girls made sweet treats for the neighbors (rice krispie squares), painted rocks and wrote letters to grandparents for their primary service bingo sheets. I spent several hours (and with Abby's help) putting together YW care packages...

{Word Doc}

Hello! 😊
We are missing our Young Women during this covid time and wanted to bring you a CARE package
C challenge: My 150…  be creative, chew your candy & choose to do 150 of something sweet.
{May 27th 2020 was the 150th anniversary of the Young Women organization! There will be a special Face to Face event on November 15th to celebrate. To kick things off the General Young Women Presidency is encouraging girls worldwide to participate in the challenge "My 150". My 150: Think of something you can do related to the number 150. It can be very simple, but meaningful, like 150 kind messages, 150 names indexed, reading 150 verses of scripture, or 150 kind acts of service. Use the tally sheet & share what you are doing online using #strivetobe. Our stake will be also compiling a list of the different ways young women completed this challenge. Be thinking what you can do and start today.}
A accessory… the new youth program belonging necklace came in! Notice it features the temple. When you turn 18 you receive a pendant to add to the necklace.
R recommend holder… this will help you keep track of your temple recommend. Perfect reminder of the Savior!
E evidence of leaders’ love… our stake leaders ordered bracelets and cards for you!
During this time when we aren’t meeting in person, we encourage you to start your 150 challenge, work on your personal development goals, index and keep reading your scriptures and praying. Use this extra time to build your faith and improve yourself a little every day. If there is anything you need help with, please reach out to a class leader. We love you and are praying for you!

Love, Your 4th ward YW Presidency: Sis Tucker, Sis Seamons, Sis Rohde, Sis Trujillo

... And then delivering a third to homes and the other 2/3 to my counselors and secretary to deliver to the girls near them.

I also did a back and forth with the Dup sisters and the back and their policy of changing signers on an account.

I enjoyed an early walk and a thought/quote killed it that I shared early online.

The gift of prayer is incredible 💖

📖"Through prayer, our faith is strengthened and our powers of comprehension are quickened, and we receive power to discern good from evil." (Jones, At the Pulpit, p77)

I failed to take a photo of everything to go in the bag, everything bagged and everything in three delivery piles, but it was a lot of stuff!
