Family Temple Church

Today was packed... Finished President Nelson's book. Getting ready and showers and baths. Mission Zoom meeting at 9:30a. Jane and I wanted the church meeting box with journals, BOMs, pens, sacrament supplies, hymn books, lesson materials, snacks and the conducting sheet. We got permission to do or family church and Sacrament on the temple grounds. It was the coolest thing ever to sing the songs, read scriptures and quotes and have the temple right there!! Having church at the temple was awesome!! The lesson talked about changing your heart and I shared two boys from the most recent conference with Elder Renlund giving a heart transplant story and the principles learned and Elder Bednar about how our hearts are purified from temple and sacred covenants there. Jane had read Alma 5-7 by herself and had taken a notepad and written down every verse that she really liked and then we built the lesson on her notes and wrote questions she could ask to have a discussion after we read certain verses. We were at the temple at 11 and there were only a few there. But as time when on more people joined the grounds. We walked around the temple and Jessica my 1st 2nd counselor in YW took it family picture. I'm on my 4th 2nd counselor). We came home and had lunch, indexed, tithing allowance, church movie marathon (Labor of Love, On our way home, special witnesses of CHRIST, Brigham Young and Nauvoo docudramas), dinner (lasagna, garlic bread, broccoli), VRBO searching, ward missionary fireside, games (Reverse Charades and Scattergories) and dinner and bedtime after 9.

Fascinating read about an incredible man! We are so lucky to have him. This book is filled with amazing and miraculous stories. ❤️

Restoration Testimony

Up at 5 and recited restoration Proclamation at sunrise, Zoom call with OHS staff and 504 email, grocery shopping, PIR, cd stack project, first day of some break and screen time, wcth and crocheting, taco ring dinner and fresh guacamole, Ross working after dinner, finished home alone 3, brushed teeth at 8:30 and in bed reading. Lights out at 9.

GOAL complete! ✔️ ... Little by little, inch by inch we can do hard things.
.
This month I memorized the Restoration of the Fullness of the Gospel of Jesus: A Bicentennial Proclamation.
.
I remember when it was given at the April 2020 General Conference and it seemed so long, but I wanted to study and learn it, like I had with the other two recent proclamations.
.
I learned sentence by sentence, day after day, and would build upon it a paragraph at a time
.
Yesterday as the kids were "graduating" from school, I was graduating from my own goal. I recited it to my daughter who checked every word, recited it at dinner for the family, and recited again this morning while I watched the sky turn from night to day, the LIGHT and color changing the world around me... Very profound to watch as I recited by heart the message of the restoration of Jesus Christ's gospel and the promise of our redemption through Him and how His gospel changes us and helps us prepare for His Second Coming. He is the LIGHT of the world.
.
I'm so thankful for the experience I had in gaining my own witness of the restoration. I know it's true. πŸ’–

 I call these JOY flowers.
.
This morning after my walk I opened the new Ensign magazine and read it cover to cover. It's packed with uplifting messages and stories. I noticed this quote printed more than once and appreciate reminder. It's one I love, just like when I see these pretty flowers... 😊
.
"The JOY we feel has little to do with circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives. ... When the focus of our lives is on God's plan of salvation and Jesus Christ and His gospel,  we can feel JOY regardless of what is happening --- or not happening --- in our lives. JOY comes from and because of Him. HE is a source of all JOY."
.
-Russell M Nelson
