* WHAT...For the Frost Advisory, temperatures of 33 to 37 will be cold enough to allow frost formation. For the Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 will be possible.

* WHERE...Portions of the mountains and foothills of the western Carolinas and far northeast Georgia.

* WHEN...For the Frost Advisory, from 1 AM to 11 AM EDT Wednesday. For the Freeze Watch, from late Wednesday night through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...


Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. In-ground sprinkler systems should be drained. Remove hoses and cover above- ground pipes.

Patchy fog before 9am. Patchy frost before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with highs in the low-to-mid 50s in the higher elevations ti near 60 in the lower elevations. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Halloween Night

A 20 percent chance of showers after 3am. Increasing clouds, with lows rasnging from the mid-30s in the higher elevations to the low-to-mid 40s in the lower elevations. Calm winds.

Rolling Rallay for Trump Scheduled for Today This will be the final Rolling Rally before Election Day on Tuesday, November 3rd

1. A tropical wave located over the eastern and central Caribbean Sea is producing a concentrated area of showers and thunderstorms. This system is slowly becoming better organized, and conditions appear conducive for further development. A tropical depression is likely to form this weekend as the system moves westward across the central and western Caribbean Sea. Regardless of development, this system is expected to produce heavy rainfall across portions of the ABC islands and Jamaica through the weekend.

Strong high pressure and dry weather will continue through the middle of the week. Showers and thunderstorms return to the area late Thursday into Friday as a strong cold front approaches from the west.

Weather Hazards

Since growing season has started, the National Weather Service is issuing frost advisories and warnings when temperatures are expected to drop below freezing. A frost advisory has been issued for Macon County until 8 am this morning. A copy has been posted below. Otherwise, Hazardous weather is not expected today.

Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible sometime late Thursday into Friday ahead of an approaching cold front.
