Patrick Francis Dempsey, age 63 of Otto, North Carolina, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 21, 2022, at Mission Hospital in Ashville, N.C. Patrick was born on July 5, 1959, in Grand Rapids, MI, the son of Andrew Dempsey and Mary Susan (DeBlaay) Dempsey, now Oswald.
Patrick was a tender-hearted person, always lending a hand to family, friends & neighbors wherever & whenever needed. His life’s career was laying flooring and doing odd jobs. He was a tinkerer. He loved to garden, but mostly, he loved his family and his best friends Larry, Wayne & Jim.
Surviving are his wife; Linda Christine (Burns), children; Andrew Dempsey, Travis dempsey & Erica (Stlaurent), (Nicole Dempsey) stepsons; Jeffrey Burns, & Andrew Burns, grandchildren; Kameron, Ashton, onna, Jeremiah, Reese, Gabriel, Kiara, Nevaeh, Kyah, Lorissa, Taroha, mother; Mary Susan Oswald, brothers; Christopher & Elizabeth (Wright) Dempsey, Michael Dempsey, Joseph & Gail (LaJoye) Dempsey, & Daniel & Tricia (Koehlinger), sister; Dawn (Dempsey) & Michael Hulbert, stepbrother; Kevin Oswald, stepsisters; Kelly (Oswald) & Michael Lemon, & Kara Oswald, Aunts, Uncles, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, & great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; Andrew, Stepfather; Wallace Oswald, Granddaughter; Onna, nephews; John, Brad, and niece; Kristin.
There will be a private family gathering to say goodbyes.
