The Senior Follies is Returning!

Macon County friends, we're bringing back the Senior Follies! This event is part of the Silver Arts division of the NC Senior Games, and it's been several years since the Senior Follies has been produced in our county. In partnership with the Macon County Senior Games, the Arts Council of Macon County will be producing the Senior Follies show for 2020.

Anyone age 50+ who resides in Macon County for at least 3 months a year can participate. Competing and non-competing slots will be available. The top winner of the competing artists will represent Macon County at the State Finals of the NC State Senior Games in Raleigh in September.

Performing artists may choose to compete in the following categories/disciplines: Comedy/Drama, Dance/Line Dance, Instrumental or Vocal Music. Non-competing parts will also be available for a variety of comedic acts.

This year's production will be a fast-paced variety show showcasing a mixture of skits, multimedia, music, and other talents. This will be an evening of entertainment that will leave the audience wanting more, and you'll have lots of fun being a member of the cast and stage crew.

To consult with an attorney employed or retained by the public body in order to preserve the attorney-client privilege between the attorney and the public body, which privilege is hereby acknowledged. General policy matters may not be discussed in a closed session and nothing herein shall be construed to permit a public body to close a meeting that otherwise would be open merely because an attorney employed or retained by the public body is a participant.

The public body may consider and give instructions to an attorney concerning the handling or settlement of a claim, judicial action, mediation, arbitration, or administrative procedure. If the public body has approved or considered a settlement, other than a malpractice settlement by or on behalf of a hospital, in closed session, the terms of that settlement shall be reported to the public body and entered into its minutes as soon as possible within a reasonable time after the settlement is concluded.
