Because it is the time of year when people give yummy goodies and family and friends gather together and eat a bunch of good food, I thought it would be appropriate to share a couple of new favorite treats that I've been given recently.
Cowboy Cavier
1 can corn - drained
1 can black beans - drained
1 can of rotel w/ cilantro - drained
6 green onions finely chopped
Dump all into big bowl and refrigate until ready to serve.
Then add shredded fiesta mixed cheese into it right before you serve.
Best to eat with the scoop type tortilla chips.
I had this at a get together with some friends. This is yummy and pretty dang healthy for you too! Can't get better than that.

My visiting teacher brought these by to me this week. They were amazing! I'm not kidding! You have got to try them!
Me and my family are getting things ready to leave for our big trip this Friday. We are can't wait to be there. We will be back into Tulsa January 4th or 5th depending on how the weather is for driving. I will be posting lots of fun pics from our Christmas in Wyoming after that!
Merry Christmas Everyone!

I've been husband tagged...
Thank you Meagan for the tag, it is good timing to do something like this. The above is a page from a scrapbook I made about our courtship. This page, in particular, was right after Robert proposed to me. As you can see, it had just snowed that day. Rob took me out for dinner and then asked if I'd like to go for a walk in the the snow because it rarely snows here in Tulsa. As we were walking around the neighborhood Rob pretended to slip and fall down on the slippery street. It looked really convincing let me tell you. Next thing I know, he holds up this tiny lighted box and this light was shining down on a beautiful ring. He said some sweet things before actually asking me if I'd marry him, but honestly I can't really remember what he said. I was so shocked that all I was saying was, "shut up, shut up, shut up!" Looking back on it, I probably could have handled that a little better. Good thing he really loves me huh?
He proposed December 23, 2002. Talk about an early and unexpected Christmas gift! It was the best Christmas present I've ever received.
1. Where did you meet your husband? I met Rob ironically in the Tulsa Oklahoma Single Adult Branch for our church. It was the first of the summer in 2002. He was one of the first people that I was introduced to my first Sunday at the singles branch. I obviously made a huge impression on him, because he doesn't remember really meeting me that day. Hmmm?
2. How long did you date? In my mind we were just good friends for the first couple months we knew each other, but he had other plans. We technically had our first date in July 2002 to a birthday party of a mutual friend. We were engaged December 23, 2002 and married April 9th, 2003. So that is 10 months total right? Wow! It seemed longer than that at the time.
3. How long have you been married? It will be six years this April.
4. What does he do that surprises you? I love when he does just the little unexpected things.
He will give me a card with something nice written on it. He knows that I love smell good candles burning in the house, so he will light the candles before I get home from a long day. He will turn down the bed for me and dim the lights in our bedroom before I go to sleep at night. He knows that I am a BIG fountain soda pop lover. So he will bring me home a diet pepsi with a splash of vanilla in it. Yummy...nothing better!
5. What is your favorite feature of his? His big brown eyes. This one is kind of silly, but he has a scar in his eyebrow, and I've always like that for some reason.
6. What is his best quality? He is a very hard worker, very outgoing, and fun to be around.
7. Does he have a nick name for you? Yes, Shanie girl. But he only calls me it because he knows I think it is silly.
8. What is his favorite food? His favorite has to be Mexican. His family is part hispanic, so he was raised on homemade mexican foods. One of the first things I had to learn to make for him after we were married was his family's enchilada recipe.
9. What is his favorite sport? Football hands down. But he has a real interest in golfing recently.
10.When and where was your first kiss? After our second date in his truck after he was dropping me off at my apartment. (He did walk me to my door afterwards) there is a long story to the akward first kiss moment that I won't share with the whole world. We actually had a re-do first kiss about a week later to make up for it. That one was so good that we count that one as our real first kiss.
11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? Going out with couple friends to dinner, taking fun trips with our kids, or just sitting on the couch watching a movie after the kids go to sleep.
12. Do you have children? Two beautiful daughters. I can't imagine having children with anyone but Rob.
13. Does he have hidden talents? He is really good at building things. He built our firplace mantle, and a piano bench for me. He will someday build us our dream house.
14. How old is he? 28
15. Who said I love you first? He did for sure. I was a scardy cat.
16. His favorite music? He likes all kinds. He is a big music lover.
17. What do you admire most about him? His loyaly to friends and family. His determination to always do more in life. His ability to love. His laid back and relax personality at times because I wish I would do that more.
18. What is his favorite color? I really don't know if he has a real favorite color. He has a hard time putting colors together. Blue matches blue right honey? (my family knows this inside joke)
19. Will he read this? Yes. It is a running joke with us because on some weeks that we don't spend a lot of time together, he will read my blog at work to "catch up" with me. Isn't that so sad? :)
20. Who do you tag? Hmmm...Laurel, Colleen, and Kali.
