I saw this clip on www.lds.org today and I was overwhelmed with gratitude to belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In a world where me and my family are surrounded by so much wickedness and sadness, it would be easy to let it take over our lives. But it is the knowledge that I have of Jesus Christ that gives me so much happiness and hope. I knowthat it is possible that good things will come us as we live God's teachings. I hope you feel a little of that happiness too when you watch this clip.

Happy Father's Day 2010!
Another Father's Day has come and gone! Where does the time go? When I think about how much my husband has grown in the past 5 years of being a father to our girls, I am amazed.
He is the youngest of 7 children in his family, and being such was a little on the spoiled side. He was a good kid, so maybe he deserved to be spoiled? However, he didn't have a lot little kids running around while he grew up and that he helped take care of. I think one of the first times he held a newborn baby was when we were dating and my older sister had just had her 3rd boy. I remember him kind of pretending like he was no big deal handling him, but I could tell he was a little uncomfortable from having little to no experience.
I remember going to the hospital to have Alyssa and asking my older sister to be in the delivery with us because it was our first time and I wasn't sure how Robert would do with all the gross stuff. I was happlily surprised to see how he reacted. Although I could tell that he was nervous, he was very attentive to me, never left my side, and was very involved in the whole thing.
From the first moment he held Alyssa, I could tell she had him wrapped. He was a gonner! I became his #2 girl I'm afraid for a little while, because he was completely in love with her.
When Isabella came along, I worried how he and I would have enough love to give to them both equally. But again, happily surprised. It was like she was our first child all over. Robert was hooked instantly, and fell completely in love with her.
Now expecting our 3rd baby girl in just 6 short weeks, I am not afraid if he and I will have enough room in our hearts for her. I know good and well, that it will be instant love just as before. The only thing I am afraid of is that I will be #4 girl in our home. Who will help take care of me if I am #4 now? :)
Since Robert and I got married we have always had a mind set of both bringing 100% of ourselves to the relationship. He does his part, and I do mine. That is the only way it will work. His role as father was no exception to this rule. He has always been a very involved and hand-on daddy. Even with how hard he works outside of the home to provide for his family, he does so much that I'm sure not a lot of other dads do that much.
In the hustle of our daily routines and busy lives, I know that I do not acknowlege all the wonderful things you do for me and the girls. So here are some of the many reasons why you are a great daddy!
-you play with the girls and will be silly with them even if you look like a fool
-you change just as many diapers as I do
-you are not afraid to take them both to Walmart or Sam's Club alone
-you know the girl's needs and routine just as well as I do
-you are such a handyman! You took time to build the girls some beautiful shelves and bunk beds etc... to save us money
-you are financially smart, and use it to benefit our future as a family
-you are a hard worker
-you are a good example to our children of what kind of man they should date and marry
-you use your Priesthood to bless our family
-you love your girls and are not afraid to show your affection for them
-you help with laundry, dishes, cleaning etc...
-you would rather spend time with your girls than anyone else in the world
WE LOVE YOU DADDY! XOXO!
