Little Miss Muffet new release!

There's a new Little Miss Muffet new release and you won't wanna miss seeing this new range of faeries over on the blog here!  Here is my DT make using Eglantine Faerie...

Isn't she beautiful?  And I love that beautiful cat too!   I just had to go organic with this so I used MFT Die-Namics Vine Border.  I stamped her on my fave Make It Colour Blending Card and coloured with my Copics.  I used the Whimsy Shapeology ticket die and the sentiment is from the Whimsy Friendship Ticket Sentiments Set.

I used this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 165...

Thanks for visiting me - I love reading all of your comments!  See you later on my blog rounds!

Two Father's Day cards

Hi all!  Here are my dad's and my FIL's Father Days cards and I need your advice please!  For my FIL's (Bill) card, I used a very old stamp from Magnolia' Lazy Summer Days collection called' Ocean Background scene'...

I love the sentiment inside the card, it says "wishing you calm winds, gentle waters, and smooth sailing" - it's by Paper Makeup from the Sailing By set (from Quixotic Paperie here).  My in-laws live in a village called Wargrave near Henley, in the UK and Bill has a gorgeous boat - their house backs onto The Thames and he has a lovely time sailing up and down it!  I know he would love to take it out to sea one day, hence my card!

For my dad, I made him a more cosy card - he loves animals and the birds in his garden!  I used Mo Manning's pile of pets called 'coexist' - sweet, huh?!!

Now I need some advice!  I'm not great at grown up men cards - never know how much to embellish or not!!  Are these cards too plain?  Shall I add anything?!!  Your advice warmly welcomed before I pop them in the post on Wednesday!  Thank you!

Tags over at A Spoonful of Sugar

(Please scroll down for my Totally Ladybug Tuesday post)

Over at A Spoonfull of Sugar we are challenging you to use a tag somewhere on your creations!  For my card, I used a tag to highlight a birthday sentiment...

This is for my Grandma's upcoming 88th birthday in a couple of weeks.  I've been mulling over the style of her card because I doubt she'd like my usual clean-cut, bright, sassy ones!  I thought the Magnolia Doo Hicky die cuts (got mine from Bunny Zoe's Crafts large selection here)  would be ideal for a shabby chic style.  And not an image stamp in sight!  I can't tell you how uncomfortable I was making this card, but I think it turned out okay!

The other DT makes are so varied for this challenge, it's amazing how we came up with such different ideas!  You can see all of the makes here

That's it from me today - enjoy your day!

I am entering this card into All That Scraps monthly Magnolia challenge for "Let's celebrate birthdays", Bunny Zoe's Crafts monthly challenge of "flowers everywhere" and Flutter By Wednesday for anything goes.

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill Bling brown cardstock, Doodlebug Lilywhite cardstock, BasicGrey Infuse paper pad
Stamps: Hero Arts sentiment, CC Designs sentiment inside card
Mediums: ColorBox chalk inks
Accents: lace and pearl brads from stash
Tools: Magnolia Doo Hickey dies, Nestabilities circle and rectangle dies (inside card)

Snowie cuties!

Hello all!  Did you have a super weekend?  Spent mine inside avoiding the all that snow from last week!  Unfortunately, it meant I had to do a ton of housework and decorating - boo!

Anyhoo, back to the reason why you're here - cards!  In my drive to get all my Xmas cards done, I have created two more to show you today.  The first is for the All That Scraps monthly Magnolia challenge to make "something for Christmas".

This first card uses the gorgeous Magnolia doily die - it's so luscious!  But it only cuts one half and then you have to flip it over and align it to cut the other half - easy when you know how but tricky when you don't!  You can't see from the photos, but I've used Fun Flock on snowie's ear muffs, top, gloves and hat.

In this second card using another Snowie (yes, I loved him so much I bought all three original Snowies!), I wanted to practice my background shading so I used that lovely Copics Shadow Blue - it was far too strong but I managed to fade it a bit with the blender - more practice methinks!  I've also shaped banner with the sentiment so that it looks like it's waving in the wind - I've been wanting to do this for ages but couldn't get the waves to stay!  I've found it's best with thin card and I shaped it around a pen.

Back tomorrow with a Totally Ladybug Tuesday challenge and it's an excellent one so come and see all the DT inspiration!

I am alo entering these cards into the following challenges:

Snowie with Bells
Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, October Afternoon Good Cheer paper pack

To distress or not to distress?!

So I tried a shabby chic/vintage style card again and I think it's come out ok but I just can't do the style justice!  I think I lack the ability to embellish properly - it scares me to add too much to a card!  Sort of spoils the clean, neat lines, lol!!  Anyhow, here it is...

You can see from the close up that I used Stickles glitter glue to add a bit of shimmer.  I think it saved the card from being so flat and boring!  Anyway, I still adore those Magnolia stamps so I am going to have to keep on trying with this style!!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock
Stamps: Magnolia Tilda with wedding presents, CC Designs sentiments, Hero Arts script background
Mediums: Promarkers, Stickles glitter glue, Distress Ink in Antique Linen, Elzybells chocolate ink
Accents: lace, pins, button and crochet flower from stash, Bazzill floss
Tools: Martha Stewart heart border punch and Nestabilities label die (inside card)

Totally Gorjuss sparkle!

It's Saturday which means it's another Totally Gorjuss challenge!  This week we challenge you to make your creation **SPARKLE**!  Well, I know you all love your glitter so this should be an easy one and it's sponsored by Crafters Companion (and I'm sure you NEED more stash, right?!).

I got my trusty Glamour Dust out and went a little mad with this one.  I know Kerry is going to LUUURVE this card - she just can't get enough of shiny things!

Unfortunately, the camera always lies - well, alright my photography skills suck so you can't see the sparkle that well, but I promise you it's sparkling away!  I even used my precious Bazzill Bling cream cardstock to add to the shimmer.  Not sure if I like this card much, perhaps because I love my bright strong colours, but it is growing on me.  Can't help thinking that it needs something else, but not sure what - any advice gratefully received pleased!

Before I go, just wanted to remind you that you can win some [much needed] Xmas stash if you sign up for the new Ladybug Crafts Ink challenge blog here - you know you need want it!

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill textured and bling cardstock, Cosmo Cricket Earth Love paper pack
Stamps: Magnolia Fairytale Danelion background

Mediums: Promarkers, Glossy Accents, Glamour Dust
Accents: none!
Tools: Nestabilities label die and EK Success border punch for inside card

The snowman

A card for Christmas, of course.  I need to make a lot more so I am going to try to complete Sparkle's weekly Christmas challenge from now on.  This week's challenge #44 is to do a card that incoporates your favourite Christmas movie.  When it comes to Christmas, I'm a kid at heart and I love the cartoons so I chose "The Snowman" animation.

I am also entering my card into the All That Scraps monthly Magnolia challenge to create a Christmas scene.  I just love creating scenes!  Pam (who is generally an amazing person) created this amazing card for them and it inspired me to try my hand at it!  So here it is...

Those Magnolia stamps are so gorgeous, aren't they?  I have the other two snowmen from this collection cos I love them so much!  Hopefully Sparkle's next Christmas challenge will be about snow!  I'm also entering this card into the Just Magnolia special monthly challenge who's theme is "anything goes".

Anyway, off to work, back tomorrow with a set of cards that use a paper collection.  That's all I say for now!

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, BasicGrey Figgy paper pad

Mediums: Copic markers, Glamour Dust (on hat and all snowflakes), snow puffy stuff (on trees and fence!)

A warm hello

And gosh do I need one - it's turned suddenly cold down in the south east corner of Britain! I've actually ordered my hubby to put the electric blanket back on the bed! Grrrrr, but at least it's been a sunny weekend and we did a huge trek along the Seven Sisters (a series of hills) on the south coast yesterday. I feel virtuous!
Before I get to my card, I wanted to share my experience at a "Well Woman" clinic I had to attend this week, a requirement from my firm. Well I'm pleased to report that I've got clean bill of health - so all that countryside walking and keeping my food portions down really does work! The doctor said I've also got a healthy sense of humour, so I'll keep on laughing at life then. Anyway, that's not the interesting part. When you turn 40 they insist on giving you a mammogram. Has anybody had this before? My goodness, it's not a test, it's torture!!!! I only have a B cup and the poor lady taking the pictures had to twist and turn me into the most amazing positions! It must have looked hilarious, being wrapped around this huge machine - like I was trying to get intimate with it! Boy, was I sore afterwards - under my armpits of all places, lol! Results in a couple of weeks but I'm not expecting anything to come up (fingers crossed). I hope I don't have to go through that again for a long, long time!

Ok, ok, onto today's card. Another autumn theme one - I love those this Magnolia stamp makes it feel really windy! Just right for today's weather! I couldn't find any other suitable challenges but luckily they have a "anything goes" at this week's Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge.

On Tuesday, us Ladybug Crafts Ink DT gals are going to do our own challenge called "pink and one other colour", set by our Head Ladybug, Kerry. Luckily I just luuurve pink so it was an easy one. Feel free to join in if you can, we love seeing all Ladybug Crafts Ink creations!

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, BasicGrey Mellow paper pack
Stamps: Magnolia Tilda on the Loose, Hero Arts sentiment
Mediums: Copic markers
Accents: My Minds Eye buttons, ribbon from stash
Tools: Nestabilities lacy square, square and label dies, Magnolia Doo Hickey border punch

Totally Gorjuss Wild Things!

I was hoping to make more cards this week, but as usual work took over my life from Wednesday to the rest of the week! Luckily I managed to complete my guest designer card in time for this week's challenge over at Totally Gorjuss which is "Wild Thing". This week's challenge is sponsored by Crafters Companion so get those animals inked up and coloured for a chance to win some candy!

What with all those autumn themed challenges out there at the moment, I thought I'd take advantage and create a card with an Asian feel with those rich reds and oranges so I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
Allsorts challenge - colours of autumn
The Cute and Girly - Indian summer
A Spoonful of Suger - fall colours
I'll be back tomorrow with another card so see you then!

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, BasicGrey Ambrosia paper pack
Stamps: Magnolia elephant, Kraftin Kimmies thankful sentiments
Mediums: Copic markers
Accents: ribbon and pearls from stash
Tools: Nestabilities label sixteen die, EK Success border punch

Fairy tales do come true

Well, none of mine have today! Alas, it's just the title of my next card that Totally Tilda's challenge inspired - to use lilac and lace. I'm not really a shabby chic / distress / vintage type of gal but I thought I should use up some core-dination cardstock and pins that have been in my stash for aaaages! I am also submitting it into this month's Sir Stampalot's challenge "all distressed".

Wow, I'm really on a roll this week with creating cards! At least one card a day - what a record! Now, just need some more reasons to send these cards to people...

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock
Stamps: Magnolia Ballerina Tilda, Elzybells sentiment
Mediums: Copic markers
Accents: DecoArt Just Glitter pen in gold, lace (from Bunny Zoe's Crafters here), sheer lace, buttons and pins from stash, Bazzill white floss
