Guest spotlight over at Simply Sassy!

Today I am being spotlighted over at Simply Sassy - wow, I felt so privileged when lovely blog mate Anita asked me to do it!  You can see my spotlight over there today but here is the card I especially made for it using Cinders from the new November release...

Isn't she just gorgeous?!  I love these beauties, they are such a pleasure to colour in!  I used papers from My Minds Eye Everyday Flair (from Quixotic Paperie here), a super sweet doily (from Crafty Emma's Store here), Kaisercraft white lace (from Bunny Zoe's here) and Pink Petticoat digi letters.

And here is a close up of this gorgeous little lady!

Thanks again to the lovely Simply Sassy team to invite for a spotlight!  Here are some other cards I have made using these gorgeous creations by Krista Smith, the Saturated Canary who creates these babies!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Simply Sassy Guest DT call!

Hi everyone!  It is a brilliantly, gorgeous, sunny day here in England and it's meant to be getting better!  Apart from the fact it means more gardening for me (boo!) it also means more time down at the coast (yay!).  I hope it is sunny wherever you are!

Did you know there is a guest DT call over at Simply Sassy?  They are looking for one designer to help show off their release no 7 and 8 and I bet they will be gorgeous!  All you need to do is make card using their sketchand here is my submission - have your fingers crossed for me please!

I have used Pillow Talk - I think she is the sassiest of them all so far!   You can buy her here at Funky Kits.  I coloured her in with my Copics but instead of using my usual smooth cardstock, I used watercolour paper.  I loved this!  The colours came out more intense and look more like watercolouring with Distress Inks!  You have to be careful though because it's more likely to bleed but the good thing (unlike Distress Inks) it's easy to correct mistakes with the blender.

If you want to apply for the guest DT role, you'd better be quick because the all closes in a few hours!  Ta ra for now!

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, Bazzill Bling cream cardstock, BasicGrey Sultry
Stamps: Simply Sassy Pillow Talk, pc printed sentiment
Mediums: Copics on watercolour paper
Accents: beads and flat backed pearls (from Quixotic Paperie in this section here)
Tools: Nestabilities label dies, My Favorite Things rolled rose and leaf dies, Martha Stewart border punch inside card

Embellishing fun over at A Spoonful of Sugar!

Today over at A Spoonful of Sugar, we are challenging you to use ribbon, pearls/gems and flowers - our favourite embellishing items so this will be an easy, peasy challenge for you all!  This is my DT card for it...

I am really enjoying using watercolouring with my Distress Inks with these cuties from Simply Sassy that you can buy from Funky Kits.  This one is called Bad Hare Day - brilliant!  I'm really getting into my shabby chic cards although I probably should have distressed the edges a bit!  I can't help it though - I love my clean lines!  Still, I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out.

And do you see that gorgeous ribbon?!!  The card was looking a bit flat but this antique gold lace velvet ribbon saved it from being boring!  I bought it from Ladybug Crafts Ink here.  I've also bought in a gorgeous pink version too - can't wait to use it!

I hope you like my card and you can see all the other gorgeous DT makes here.  Thanks for joining me and have a lovely day!

I am entering my card into this month's Bunny Zoe's challenge which is birthdays with lots of pearls and also into Make It Monday where you can just share your creativity!

Sketch challenge time over at A Spoonful of Sugar!

(Please scroll down for my Totally Ladybug Tuesday DT card)

I always love a sketch challenge to get a dose of inspiration, don't you?  This week A Spoonful of Sugar has a brilliant sketch which I had a ball with!

I flipped the sketch on its side and I used another of those lovely Simply Sassy images called Pillow Talk from Sugar Nellie.  I adore these little ladies!  Steve's not that keen on them - says they looks like they haven't taken their mascara off properly, lol!!!  But I don't care - it's not like I give him my cards anyway!

The other DT makes are gorgeous!  You can see them all here.

We're not too shabby over at A Spoonful of Sugar!

(Please scroll down for my Totally Ladybug Tuesday DT post)

Over at A Spoonful of Sugar today we are challenging you to use a vintage or shabby chic theme!  This isn't really my comfort zone - it (ahem) "distresses" me not to have my clean, neat lines!  But I've had to make a few of these styles recently and I think I'm getting the hang of them! What do you think...?

My Tim Holtz distressing tool is starting to get really blunt now and I handstitched all that - patience of an angel, don't you think?!!  This card also gave me an excellent excuse to use up some very, very old stash that's been lying around for years - it was very satisfying!  I did use something new too though - see that lovely organic thick twine?  I bought it from my blog friend Carly's Etsy shop called Perfectly Pretty.  She has some lovely, lovely stash perfect for this style!  And those crochet flowers are from Bunny Zoe's Crafts here.

That's it from me today!  You can see all the other gorgeous DT makes here.

I am entering my card into the BasicGrey challenge theme of wings and By the Cute and Girly theme of springtime.

Totally Gorjuss is back with a sketch challenge!

Happy Saturday everybody!  Today Totally Gorjuss is back for 2011 and our first challenge is a sketch!  This week we are sponsored by Joanna Sheen - I love this shop for their free postage and packing worldwide and ultra fast service - my kinda service!  So here is my take on the sketch...

I've been practicising my watercolouring and this time I used my Aqua ProMarkers that I won on another challenge.  They are really easy to use and I love the vibrancy of the colours!  I cut out the leaves from the paper and mounted them on foam pads to give it a little more interest.

Don't forget to visit the Totally Gorjuss challenge blog to see the other totally gorjuss DT inspiration!

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:
