With a cherry on top!

Okay, but on top of her head?!  Why not though, she's still a beautiful girl!  I love Some Odd Girl artist  Kirsty's whimsical fun touches and this gal is typical of her beautiful work...

Yep, I've been playing with more of those gorgeous Quixotic Paperie goodies to promote the current 10% off all Some Odd Girl stamps!  Here's what I used...

Bring me sunshine!

Hi everyone, I hope you are ll having a good weekend!  Those who know me know I HATE the winter so to cheer myself up, I decided recently to make a sunshiney card...

I enjoyed making this card, it brightened up my day!  This is Some Odd Girl Sunny Mae stamped on Make It Colour Blending Card and coloured with Copics.  I created my own background using the sun rays stamp included in the set.   I matched her up with a touch of paper from the Echo Park Country Drive Collection Kit and a hint of orange at the top using the MFT Die-Namics - Mini Scallop Edge die. I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp challenge for anything goes.

Okay, I am off now but I'll see you tomorrow with the start of the All That Scraps February release previews!

Falling back in love with SOG!

Have you seen that Some Odd Girl has set up a new community?  You can check it out here if you love SOG!  I haven't used mine for ages but looking around there has made me fall back in love with these cool gorgeous images!  Anyway, they've been having challenges and fun all week so just thought I'd share the cards I made for them.

First up is my card for the challenges to use Kaylee and also this month's sketch using Angel Kaylee...

And my second one for the Kaylee challenge using Baby Snuggle Kaylee.  I'm also entering this into this month's Dies To Die For challenge for anything goes (I used Die-namics Scallop Ribbon Border and Die-namics Mini Rolled Roses)...

I have a third card to share but will do that another time!  I am off now - enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Quick cheat fishtail banner tute!

Hi everyone!  Mary J here with a CAS style card after my recent experimenting with messy mixed media!  What do you think...

I am so in love with the Some Odd Girls clear stamp sets and for my card I used Gwen In Bloom, matched up with My Minds Eye Darling Dear.

And have you noticed how fashionable the fishtail banners have become?  Well, if you don't have any of the dies, here is a quick tip just using a square punch.  First of all, I use a pencil to place a dot where I want the centre (sometimes I don't bother if I want a less perfect look)...

Then holding the punch upside down, I slip the paper in and line the dot up with a corner (you can just about see the dot in the photo!)...

Then punch!  Voila!

Thank you to my lovely husband who took the photos for me, what a doll he is.  Okay, I'm off to do more decorating!  Thanks for visiting and have a fab weekend!

I just can't thank you enough

Hello everyone!  Well, I had good intentions to get out there and tidy up the garden, but it started raining heavily again!  What a shame : )  so will have to do something else inside...like make a card perhaps...and then the ironing.  I actually prefer ironing to gardening.

So, a quick card from me now - the challenge over at Some Odd Girl is "All White or Kraft with 2 pops of color" so I went for the white version...

I used Tiny Tia Bow and I didn't use any designer papers!  Instead I used my Hero Arts dot background stamp and highlighted it with my Viva Decor pearl gel pen (from Quixotic Paperie here).  I finished it off with some buttons and twine (from Quixotic Paperie here).

I am also entering my card into Cute Card Thursday for birthstones (mine are peridot and topaz for August) and I took my colour inspiration from this week's CR84FN challenge...

Okay, that's it from me today!  Back tomorrow and Tuesday with lots and lots and lots of DT cards - so hold onto your seats!!

New Some Odd Girl stamps!

Nope, I'm not going to gripe about how blogger hasn't saved my two scheduled posts I spent ages writing up yesterday!!!!  Straight onto today's creation!!

As some of you know, I luuurve Some Odd Girl digis but did you know that they are now in clear stamp form?  Mega-fantastic!  As much as I like digis, you can't beat a stamp!  So you can imagine how excited I was to hear that Elaine has started selling them over at Quixotic Paperie!  There are 6 in total (view them here) and here is a card with my current favourite...

This is Dancing Mae!  There is also a sentiment that goes with her - "dance like no one is watching" - but I used a different sentiment as I need a thank you card for a good buddy of mine.  I used my Echo Park Little Boy papers again - I just adore that red striped paper and have been saving it up just for Dancing Mae!  (Yeah, I know I'm a little too emotionally attached to my stash!!).

That's it from me today - I will be back tomorrow with my second guest designer card for Sweet Stampin - unless blogger decides to delete this one too!!!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, Echo Park Little Boy Collection Kit
Stamps: Some Odd Girl Dancing Mae

A right royal knees up over at A Spoonful of Sugar!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I wouldn't normally be saying that on a Tuesday but I'm off work this week, yay!  Today over at A Spoonful of Sugar it was time for me to set the challenge and I chose "A Right Royal Knees Up"!  Of course, the royal wedding is this Friday but you don't need to make a wedding card - anything royal that inspires you!  Princesses, frogs, crowns - you choose!  This is what I made...

This image always makes me laugh - that frog's surprised face is priceless!!  She is called Kiss a Prince Tia - I have my fingers crossed for her that he'll turn into a prince for her, lol!

And do you see that gorgeous label?  It's a newbie from Spellbinders called Shapeabilities Grommet Tags and I bought mine from Bunny Zoe's Crafts here.

The other DT makes are as gorgeous as ever and you can see them all here.  I hope you get a chance to play along with us!

I am entering my card into the Stampavie and More challenge for birthdays, Dare to be Sassy for pastels, Cupcake Craft challenge for fresh and new and Crafty Emma's challenge for Spring colours.

It's all about mums over at the Some Odd Girl challenge blog!

(Please scroll down for my DT cards for Quixotic Paperie and By LoRi Designs)

It's my second guest designer spot over at Some Odd Girl challenge which means it's my last guest odd girl week - boo!!!  For this fortnight's challenge, it's all about mums!  We've already had Mother's Day in the UK, but it's on 8 May in the US!  But it doesn't have to be a Mother's Day card - any mum theme card will do and I decided to use Baby Snuggle Kaylee from the newest release...

Go on, you know you wanna cuddle something now!  I kept the card simple and just matched her up with DCWV Nana's Nursery paper, a green twill stripe ribbon (Ladybug Crafts Ink has some here), some lickle, ickle pearls and some sentiments from the Ladybug Crafts Ink Baby Baby stamp set.

You don't have to use a Some Odd Girl image to join in for a chance to win a prize, but if you do use one you get a double entry for it!

That's it for my last guest odd girl spot - a big thank you to Kirsty and the DT for having me on board - I've loved working with you all!

I'd like to enter this card into the Paper Pretties challenge to use pink, green and neutrals and also I love ProMarkers where anything goes this week!

Wanna sneak peek at the new Some Odd Girl April release?!!

Well, you're in the right place if you do!  I've seen the whole new Some Odd Girl release and it's super cute, super gorgeous and super desirable!  Here is my sneak peek using Tiny Bubbles Tia...

See, I told you you'd want her!!  I kept the layout very simple because this little lady doesn't require much to make her look cuter!  I used a Hero Arts dots background with white  embossing powder and some sweet dies and border punch to emphasise her sweetness!  I finished her off with some gingham ribbon, simple flowers with a dew drop flower centre and an American Crafts rub-on sentiment.

Fabby news! I'm April's GD for the Some Odd Girl challenge blog!

(Please scroll down for my Quixotic Paperie and By LoRi Designs DT cards)

I've been bursting to share this for aaaages!  I was very chuffed to be chosen as the Some Odd Girl's April guest designer!  I love playing with these beauties!  This challenge is to create a clean and simple card - not the easiest style for me!!  But here is my effort...

I used Roller Mae - I can feel the breeze in my hair just looking at her!  And look, no design papers again!  Instead, I used am embossing folder on white wash co-ordination cardstock, a white gel pen for the faux stitching and some simple embellishing - et voila!

I hope you get a chance to play along - you don't need a SOG image but if you do use one for the challenge, you get 2 chances to win!

Lastly, just to let you know that all of next week we will be having sneak peeks of the new release due out on 19 April - I've been playing with some of the new images so I can confidently say that you are going to LOVE them!

That's it from me for now - thanks for visiting!!

Diddy fairy!

Before I  get onto my second post for today, did you see that SCACD has got a new challenge blog called SCACD Friends With Heart Challenge Blog?  You may recall my cards here recently which use their gorgeous stamps and if you join in you have a chance of winning their lovely goodies too!  If you also become a follower before 5 April, you also have a chance of winning the new set of Copics Sketch 2011 pens!   I hope you don't sign up cos I wanna win it!!!  ;o

Anyway, onto the card!  I've made this card for the current "Think Spring!" challenge over at the Some Odd Girl blog.  I used the diddy fairy Bu'Fly Tia and Friend digi because I thought she would be perfect with the few papers I have left in my Crate Paper Sweet brand paper collection.  What do you think?

I wanted to keep it quite simple to just showcase her but of course I had to add a lickle, ickle bit of Glamour Dust on her wings!  I added the felt flower to give it some softeness and depth too (you can buy other colours from Ladybug Crafts Ink here).  I am going to send this to a very good blog friend who has been in hospital recently and I hope it will cheer her up!

I am also entering my card into this week's Cupcake Craft challenge for "Up in the Air" with optional green (I got a little bit in!), Stampvie and Friends for "Spring" and also Do It With Digis for children themed cards.

Hang in there!

I hope you are all having a lovely week so far!  I spent Monday and Tuesday with this thing attached to me to monitor my blood pressure over 24 hours - fun!  It's just like how the doctor does it - the bag gets wrapped around the upper arm and then pumped up to get the blood pressure reading - all by it's lonesome - clever machine!

Unfortunately, it's a big clumpy thing and every half hour it pumps up whilst making a weird, loud whirring noise!  I got some very funny looks when I went to buy some lunch, lol!!  And then it goes off on the hour every hour during the sleeping hours - guess how much sleep I got?!!  So I was a very sleepy bunny yesterday.  Luckily I was awake enough last night to finish a card I've been playing with for the past few days...

I just love those Some Odd Girl images!  This little monkey is called Hang Out Ollie - look at those saucer sized eyes! Their current challenge is to create your own embellishments so I cut out the two smaller clouds (the largest one is from the My Favorite Things Die-namics trio cloud die (from Dies to Die For in the UK here) but they were the wrong sizes and shapes for my card!).   I used my trusty kraft cardstock and NO design papers again!  Instead I used a Hero Arts cloud background stamp - this is one of my all time favourite stamps!  I used some bakers twine - this stuff is fabulous, I have it in all of the colours!

I based my design on last week's CPS #206 sketch - as soon as I saw it I knew I had to make a window!

Enjoy the rest of your day and I hope you can join me tomorrow with my DT card for Quixotic Paperie!
