Alicia Bel new release

The Alicia Bel new releases for this month is now available in store and the design team are showcasing them over at the blog today.  I decided to use the beautiful Blowing Kisses...

I love her outfit - I want one just like it!  And I definitely need the platform shoes what with only being 5' 2"!!  The papers are by Pink Petticoat and the sentiment is from the SugarPea Designs Happy Mail stamp set and the SugarCuts Heart Journal die set.

You can see all of the new goodies being showcased over at the blog here.  I'm off now - enjoy the rest of your Friday!

Batch of Christmas cards using Pink Petticoat

I spent a couple of evenings making these very quick Christmas cards so thought I'd show you the batch now that everyone should have received theirs!

I've always loved Pink Petticoat and it was the very first digi papers I ever bought since starting card making.  Owner Liz's images are always very sweet but not too cute and I loved this set of penguins from the Cool Yule collection...

And these snowmen are so adorable from the Frosty Friends collection...

Here's a close up...

As you can see, I kept the layout really simple with a simple red scallop border (My Favorite Things) and twine from my stash.  The images didn't take long to colour in - I did them all in an hour.  I punched the snowflakes using a very old EK Success punch and covered them in Stickles Star Dust glue as I had run out of glitter cardstock (have since filled up with a ton of it in readiness for next year's cards!).  I popped the white cardstock onto foam pads to give it depth and used a punch for the corners.  I only used buttons on these two cards but not on the rest as I didn't have enough of them!

Well that is all of my Christmas cards done for 2014 - whew!!  I'm now preparing for my 2015 projects - I enjoy the planning bit nearly as much as the creating part.  Yep, I'm a little crazy like that, it must be the project manager in me!

Thanks for visiting me today.  I always really appreciate the support and friendship of my regular visitors so I want to give a very special thank you to you (you know who you are!).

Anything but Christmas!

The theme of Anything But Christmas over at La-La Land Crafts blog this week is perfect for the way I'm feeling about making Christmas cards right now - had enough of them!  Here is my DT take on it...

Here's a list of the La-La Land Crafts goodies I used:

I think I should have placed the numbers closer to the sentiment - looks a bit bare around them now I'm looking at the photo!  Oh well, it'll have to do!  This card is for my husband's Aunt - wow, 80 years old!  My grandma is 83 years old.  I just can't imagine living that long!

Check out the rest of the DT creations over at the blog here and I will be back later with my Alicia Bel DT post - see you then!

Guesting for La-La Lands Crafts!

As some of you know, I've stepped down from several design teams in recent months (down to 3 from 8 teams this time last year!).  This was mainly because I felt my style was becoming a bit stale and wanted to free up more time to explore my style more and also use other brands.  Well I'm very excited to share today that my lovely blog mate Sandie invited me to do a guest designer spot for La-La Land Crafts for the next two months.  I've never used this brand before and I must say that I've fallen in love with it!

Today is Inspiration Friday over at the La-La Land Crafts blog and this week's theme is Glitter Mania!  So here is my very first make for them using the stylish Jesalyn and the gorgeous Berry Flourish die.

This stamp is so perfect for one of my city friends - so classy!  And I love the Berry Flourish - so beautiful and I topped it off with some sweet paper flowers.

I don't normally use glitter much but there are lots on her jewellery, shoes and flowers.  I also used some iridescent sequins to add to the shimmer.

Copics used:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E21
Lips ~ RV52, RV55
Eyes ~ G20, G43, G46
Hair ~ E50, E51, E53
Dress ~ C9, C7, C5, C3

I must say though that I felt under a bit of performance pressure creating my first card for them - this is a seriously talented team and their colouring skills are amazing!  I know I'm going to learn a lot from this bunch of gals!

Okay, I'm off now but don't forget to check out the rest of the gorgeous DT inspiration over at the blog here while I decide who to give this beauty to!

Bunny shaped card

Hi all!  Yay, it's Saturday and it's going to be another sunny weekend for us here in the UK - well, in the South East at least!  The bad news is that I have no excuse not to do the gardening today and I've got to wash my car too.  Pah!

Today is also the start of a new Whimsie Doodle challenge and this month we want to be Seeing Spots!  So, any creation with some sort of circle!  I bet a lot of you thought I'd make one of my mini circle cards but instead I made this bunny shaped card instead...

I really liked how this bunny turned out!  I used this month's freebie Bite Me cutting file and sentiment from the Egged set.  I softly roughened the edges to give it a slight shabby chic feel.  I used My Favorite Things dies for the leaf and flower arrangement with a pearl popped in the centre.  The gingham paper is by Pink Petticoat and I finished it off with some sweet Doodlebug spotty chiffon ribbon.  The tail is made out of three fluffy balls that I squished together to make one big ball.

Check out more Doodlelicious Diva inspiration and get all the deets on the prizes over at the blog here.  I'm off to get changed into my gardening clothes (i.e. clothes that I've just got bored of).

See ya later on my blog rounds - ttfn!

and deets on how to win prizes!)

There's a new release over at All Dressed Up and it is another super cute set!  The DT are showcasing the beauties and here is my Dressy Girl make using the very sweet A Time To Share digi...

This card didn't turn out anything like I envisaged it, but I think I like it anyway!  I used a variety of dies to create the scene and a My Favorite Things sentiment from the happy set.

Check out the rest of the gorgeous Dressy Girl makes over at the blog here and buy the newbies in the store here!

Chomp, chomp, chomp

He he he!  So many of the Whimsie Doodles digis make me laugh and this one is no exception!  Here is a card I made using one of the new January images called Chomp...

So perfect for an unromantic guy - like my husband!  I know he will like this card, so unlike all of my others!  I kept it very simple with some gingham paper and ribbon and thought the black card would showcase him well.

I gotta go now but I'll be back tomorrow with the SugarPea Designs February release sneak peeks - ttfn!

Have I told you recently how much I love Stamping Bella?  I just love their range of stamps - Uptown Girls, Mo Manning, Tiddly Inks - I could go on!  Well for Bellarific Friday this week we had a sketch to follow so I got out one of my new Tiddly Inks and made this...

Oh she is soooo darn cute!  This is Izzie Has A Lettah (I just love the names Em the owner chooses!!) and I matched her up with Pink Petticoat gingham and heart digi papers.  And don't you just love the matching sentiment that comes with her?  Fab font!

Okay, next week the theme is "summer" and I hope we get the right weather to inspire me to make it!  Email your creations to Em by next Thursday 20 June for a chance to win $20 Bella Bucks (either by submitting a project or simply commenting on next week's Bellarific Friday post)!  ttfn!

TSG ABC Friday: wine bottle tag

It's Friday which means it's the end of another working week for me and I'm happy!  And what I really look forward to on a Friday after work is a large glass of wine!  And happily my friends also like to share a bottle with me so I decided to get a bottle of champers to share with one of them and I made this wine bottle tag to present it with...

Mmmmmm, I am going to be popular!  Here's a close up because that photo is not great...

I love this retro mama!  She is from the Domestic Goddess set by illustrator Pien DaPino and it's perfect for those fun cards us women like to laugh at!  I used a variety of Pink Petticoat papers and a large scallop border die by My Favorite Things.  I am entering this card into the Simon Says anything goes challenge.

Okay, well I'm off to enjoy this bottle with my friend - I hope you have a lovely evening planned too.  I'll be back tomorrow with Stampbook Saturday!

I hope he turns out to be Prince Charming!

Hello everyone!  I'm here today with a card using the gorgeous and sweet new Whimsie Doodle's Frog Lizzie...

That frog doesn't look very happy!  Perhaps he doesn't want to turn into a prince afterall!  He he.  So I matched her up with papers from the Lily of The Valley Bonnets and Bowties pad and used my Quickutz polka dot embossing folder.  I used my Nestie heart die to do the cut out and some Pink Petticoat gingham paper to stamp the sentiment on.

Okay, that's it from me today - I'll be back tomorrow with my There She Goes DT post - ttfn!

Sweet little duckies in a row

(Please scroll down for my All That Scraps new release post
with deets on winning prizes!)

It's a Bank Holiday in the UK so I've got one more day off before going back to the office - yay!  And as it's Monday there's a new challenge over at There She Goes and this week the challenged is to paper piece.  I love this technique and just had to use the TSG Polka Dots Pals set for it...

I really like how this card turned out, purely my accident than by design, lol!  I used Pink Petticoat gingham papers and also papers from the Isabelline collection.  I used My Favorite Things Die-Namics Button Border and Peek-A-Boo Trio die.

Check out more inspiration and all the deets over at the There She Goes blog.  I'm off but I'll see you tomorrow with day 2 of the All That Scraps new release DT post.

Girly birthday card

I'm here today with my Bellarific Babe card for Stamping Bella and it's a birthday card for a sweet girly friend of mine...

And this Uptown Girl sure is girly!  This is Ava Loves To Celebrate and I paper pieced her dress with some Pink Petticoat gingham papers.  For the background papers I used DCWV Sweet Stack and Melissa Bennett Stripes Lights papers.  I used Echo Park letter stickers - I got so many of these in my stash that I'm determined to use them up!  I dotted more Glamour Dust about her skirt, on the roses and the cake icing - it really sparkles!  I am entering this into Annette's birthday celebration candy!

Hey, Christine - I used pink!!

Okay, I am off now - thank you for visiting and I will see you soon on my blog rounds!

What a cutie, huh?!  I matched her up with Pink Petticoat papers and a sweet rolled flower.  And here is my second card using Groom Trevor and AmyR All About Dad sentiment...

I love this man about town!  I used My Minds Eye papers and my Darice chevron embossing folder so it wasn't too plain.
