Lili of the Valley blog hop time!

The Lili of the Valley design team are having a blog hop today to showcase 6 new stamps of sweet girlies!  As you all know, the LOTV stamps are always the sweetest but I do especially love this release because of the different outfits they are all wearing - they are so sweet!  Here is my make using Cheerleader...

Isn't she fun?  And love her hair bouncing up like that with those cute pom poms too!  I used papers from the Candles and Cake pad and the sentiment is from the Handwritten Phrases set.  Lastly, I sprinkled some sequins (my current favourite embellishment!) around her to make it pop.
So back to the hop!  Do the usual thing and hop from post to post, leaving a comment on each along the way.  We have two full sets of these girls to win so good luck to all of you joining in!  You should have arrived here from lovely Lou and you now need to hop off to sweet Mindy.  If you need to start from the beginning, start at the Ideas to Inspire blog.
The new stamps which will be launched in our shop this Saturday at the open day and on the website next Monday.
I'll be back tomorrow with another sneak peek so see you then!

Creative Bloggers' Hop

Have you heard of the Creative Bloggers' Hop?  I hadn't until the lovely Pami asked me to join in with it.  And I thought, why not?  It's a great way to get to know more about my many blog friends out there!

So what is it?  It’s a continuous hop every Monday with a host of different inspirational Bloggers taking part.

So without further ado, here are the questions…

1. What am I working on?
Well apart from my usual DT commitments for SugarPea DesignsLa-La Land CraftsWhimsie Doodles and Lili of the Valley, I've got something exciting in the pipeline that I can't share with you yet!  Sorry, but you'll just have to wait until September to find out what it is!

2. How does my work differ from others in my genre?
Where I seem to differ from most of my stamping friends is that I don't actually enjoy colouring that much – honestly!  I get inspired by the image and how it would look on a card so colouring to me is just something I have to get through before I can get on and create!

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
After leaving school I didn’t do anything creative even though I loved art classes at school.  I was introduced to cardmaking by a work colleague and it piqued my interest.  I thought that it could be a hobby I could take up and be useful at the same time – think of the money I could save by making my own cards!  I know you’re all laughing at that!  Still, I now love creating on a little canvas and get the satisfaction of making things that my family and friends appreciate (or so they tell me!).  I also give cards to a local charity who sell them on in their shop so I don’t have mounds of cards lying around the house!

4. How does your writing/creative process work?
It usually starts with a trigger that gets me excited – it could be a pattern, a stamp or just a theme like “Summer” or “retro”.  I then think about the elements and layout of the card.  I will have a general idea of the final outcome but most of my designs emerge as I’m creating.

Now onto the 3 Bloggers I want to get to know better!

Chrissy is one of the sweetest gals ever!  I love her sweet designs, the little scenes she creates and often recycles items in the most creative way.  I also love reading her posts about her clients’ funny antics!

I’ve known Mari ever since I can remember blogging!  She has supported me from the start and we have remained constant blogging friends.  I love how Mari is always stretching her style – she goes from cute to vintage in a heartbeat!

Tina is such a sweetie!  I love her very clean, modern style and wish I was as brave as her on the CAS front!  I'd love to know more about how she approaches the way she comes up with ideas!

I hope you gals join in with the Creative Blog Hop – I would love to know even more about you!

Thanks to anyone who has read this and will be doing my blogging rounds later today.  See you then!

Fairy good friends

We have been reviewing some of our older fairy stamps over at Lili of the Valley recently so the design team decided to have a fun hop using the very sweet Fairy Friends stamp.  Here is my take on it...

This is such an adorable stamp!  I matched them up with papers from the Promises pad and also die cut the flourishes and punched the flowers out using the new Promises Solids paper pad.  It's so nice having everything coordinated rather searching through my piles of cardstock to match up the colours!  I also added lots of Stickles Star Dust glitter glue to the fairies so they really pop off the card - here's a closer look...

Okay, so back to the hop - there are prizes to be won!  Just join the hop and leave some love along the way.  The winners will be announced on Monday morning over at the Ideas to Inspire blog.

2 lucky random winners will each be able to choose 2 of the small fairy stamps as their prize!

You should have got here from Lou and you now need to hop off to Mindy.  If you want to start from the beginning, go to the Ideas to Inspire blog here where you'll also find all the deets.

Well I'm off now but I'll be back on Friday with my Guest Designer card for La-La Land Crafts - ttfn!

Lili of the Valley blog hop!

It's time for another Lili of the Valley design team blog hop to show you some inspiration of their latest products that will be available to buy from the store from midday GMT on Monday 24 February.

There are 6 new paper pads, 5 new art pads and a set of family sentiment tags.  And, of course, there are prizes!  We have a full set of the new paper pads to give away - 2 winners will each get 3 pads each and there is a third prize of the family sentiment tags.  Just join the blog hop, leaving comments along the way.  Winners will be randomly drawn and announced on Monday morning.

Here is my DT make using papers from the new Heartfelt pad and a sweet pre-coloured image from the new Bunnies art pad...

What mummy wouldn't love to receive such a sweet image?!  I am lovin' these pre-coloured pads - this card took me all of 15 minutes to make!  The sentiment is from the Handwritten Phrases stamp set and I simply finished it off with some die cut hearts and a punched butterfly with a pearl.

Here's a look at all of the new goodies...

Okay, so onto the hop!  You should have arrived here from the lovely Kathy and now need to hop off to the sweet Mindy.  If you get lost or want to join from the beginning, go to the Ideas to Inspire blog where you'll find all the deets too.

Day 3 of the Lil' Inker Designs new release hop!

It's the last day of the new Lil' Inker Designs release showcasing new stamp sets and matching dies with a blog hop!  Here is my card using the new Circles and Diamonds stamp set that works with the matching Circles and Diamonds stitched die and the Connected Circle die...

I love how this came out - it's quite a different style for me!  I used various VersaMagic inks and my ColorBox Frost White ink.  I also used the Stitched Square Mat for the layering and teeny tiny heart and flat backed iridescent pearls randomly so it didn't look too flat.  I used Sahlin Studio papers for the card base.  I am entering my card into the Simon Says Stamp anything goes challenge.

Back to the hop - make sure you comment as you hop long - the more you comment, the better your chance of winning!  We'll be giving away prizes for two $10 store credits! You should have come here from sweet Jen Carter and you now need to hop off to the lovely Jen del Muro.  You'll then want to pop off to the store here to see all of the new goodies!

So here is my card using the new Notebook stamp set that works with the matching Notebook die...

This is such a cool set - I think it's perfect for guys and teenagers and I made this card for my 20 year old nephew who I think is super cool!

I used My Minds Eye Alphabet Soup papers and a touch of twine.   I even did some doodling with my Sakura white gel pen which I haven't done for ages!

So back to the hop!  You should have come here from sweet Jen Carter and you now need to hop off to the lovely Sarah Jay.  You'll then want to pop off to the store here to see all of the new goodies!

Day 1 of the Lil' Inker Designs new release hop!

It's time for a new Lil' Inker Designs release and we are going to showcase new stamp sets and matching dies over a three day blog hop!  And of course what's a blog hop without prizes?  Make sure you comment as you hop long - the more you comment, the better your chance of winning!  We'll be giving away prizes for two $10 store credits!  You'll definitely want to hop!

Before I  get onto my make, just wanted to announce the new designer to our team - Suzanne Dahlberg of The Card Yard!  Welcome Suzanne - you are a fab edition to our team!

For my first project today, here is my card using the new Circles and Diamonds stamp set that works with the matching dies...

I loved playing around this set!  It's so satisfying creating your own background rather than rely on designer papers.  I used various VersaMagic inks - these give such a gorgeous chalky look and it's so opaque too.  For the white I used ColorBox Frost White which I think is the best opaque ink out there!  I also used the Stitched Square Mat for the layering and a touch of twine to finish it off.

So back to the hop!  You should have come here from sweet Jen Carter and you now need to hop off to the lovely Sarah Jay.  You'll then want to pop off to the store here to see all of the new goodies!

See you tomorrow with day 2 of our hop!

Chinese New Year hop!

The very sweet and talented Em of Art From The Heart has organised this fabulous Chinese New Year blog hop!  Chinese New Year starts officially on Sunday 10 February but we decided to celebrate a little earlier to give you time to play with the FREE digis being given away!  And not only are there freebies, if you join in the hop you can win the BIG prize!  But I'll get on to that later cos I love to tease!

This is a long post, so settle in!  I have made two cards (as I do have a large Chinese family!) and here is my first make using the sweet Deasy Designs digi...

Oh he is soooo cute!!!  Both images and sentiment come in this digi set and I simply matched them up with Julie Billingsley Forevermore digi papers.

My second card (made for my parents) uses the very gorgeous Sparkle Creations Chinese New Year Rin...

I haven't done a tri-fold card for aaaages but think it worked quite well with these papers.  These are Crate Paper Pink Plum papers and I used the new CC Designs Cutters Cherry Blossoms die.  The ric rac ribbon is velvet so it gives it a touch of luxury and the border is used with a very old pair of Fiskars decorative edge scissors.  I have a whole set of these scissors that I don't use any more now I have my punches and dies - I really should give them away or use them!

Here's who you'll be hopping with us for a chance to win one of five fabulous prizes listed below:

Celebrate with us by leaving a comment on all designer and artist/sponsor blogs! Pick up your free digis and cut files along the way and create something for a second chance to win.  If you create something for the Chinese New Year, please post your project using the InLinkz Tool on Emily Leiphart's post.  Here's what you could win:
