~Happy Birthday JoJo~

A couple of weeks ago JoJo celebrated her birthday.......the event of the year in this house!!!
We celebrated with a Wiggles Birthday Cake

The day started off cold for coastal style......8 degrees centigrade
raining.......bleak........blowy......boats bobbing up and down but a calmness at the same time
Sometimes I just love these sort of days!!!

Perhaps the boat in the foreground 'Crazy Diamond' is a Pink Floyd fan
JoJo is a Floyd fan as well, as we all are!!!

Pancakes for breakfast

At JoJo's request she wanted to go to her favourite Restaurant in Canberra......La Scala
Mind you she requested this back in February so we thought why not......lots of time to get ready for it!!!

Pasta for lunch for JoJo

And gluten free for me......Salad plus Fat Chips

Check out the size of these chips!!!

We happened upon a Hospitality Shop and JoJo saw the biggest potato masher ever!!!

Back to La Scala for dinner

and Dessert

Plus we saw a huge bottle of wine also
Must be the day for Big Stuff!!!

We also took her to see The Phantom of the Opera which opened the night we went to see it at the Canberra Theatre
What a brilliant show this was......we just loved it

Free-Rain Theatre has successfully won the rights to stage the premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera in Canberra and negotiated with two nationally and internationally recognised, musical theatre stars for the lead roles and the services of one of Australia’s most accomplished young theatre directors.

The role of the Phantom will be played by Michael Cormick who has won international and national acclaim for lead roles in The Phantom of the Opera, Romeo & Juliet, Chess, Evita, and most recently; End of the Rainbow for the Edinburgh Festival and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s West End production of The Woman in White.

Julie Lea Goodwin who will play the role of Christine has appeared in the role in 200 performances opposite Anthony Warlow on the Australasian tour and also starred as Maria in West Side Story.

We celebrated New Year's Day by having fish 'chips at the beach
The little shoes belong to my little Grand-daughter...

We took a trip up to visit my Mum...

'The Vale of Moura'

In February a local boat "The Vale of Moura' sunk in the Clyde River...
For a little history on this boat have a look here

In March we paid a visit to our dear Friends Geo and Lloyd and I fell in love with this doll

and blow-me-down Geo offered her to me!!!!!!
I have called her 'Gina' and here she is in her new home...
Thank you so very, very much Geo.......this is sooooo very generous of you!!!!!!!

I went to the 'Southeast Harvest Festival' and met Julie Goodwin, Australia's first Masterchef winner

and also met Costa from ABC TV

In April JoJo and I went to see a Wiggles concert

Lucky enough to meet Yellow Wiggle Greg Page

and Blue Wiggle Anthony Field

The 'Vale of Moura' was refloated

moved to the Marina

she sunk again...

and then chopped up......deemed beyond recovery

In May we headed off to some of Australia's High Country, the Snowy Mountains
Here a beautiful sunset

We left as snow began to fall

Came back and built a snowman

Iced over wire fence.

In June we headed off to the Good Food and Wine Show in Sydney
Here I am at the stall of  Maggi Beer......one of Australia's most loved Cooks

We paid a visit to The Queen Victoria Building and saw these magnificent tiles

In July Mr Armchair and I had a night out (with Respite Care for JoJo) and had some Mussels...

My DGD

In September we went on a cruise on the Merinda
They had an Assistant called JoJo who had 2 badges and one was given to our JoJo

The Captain...Matt even let JoJo steer the boat

The cruise is so peaceful you'd think you were miles from anywhere

In October we paid a visit to our Daughter and caught up with Lidija...

In November we celebrated our Wedding Anniversary and bought ourselves this lantern...
and Mr Armchair came home with these pretty roses

On our Anniversary evening at Mogo Village celebrating a wrap up party for Pirates of Penzance

Here JoJo laid out her Wiggles t-shirt the night before

and the concert in action...

Looking back what an action packed year......no wonder it went so fast!!!

I've got JoJo home with me for a few weeks and she is keeping me busy...
I've been doing blog hops to see what everyone is up to but haven't been able to comment everywhere
A big thank you to everyone who calls by......leaves a few words
I appreciate you taking the time to do this

Welcome To My World

Hello, my name is Dzintra Ingrid ... have been known as Ingrid and since our Sea Change I have started to use Dzintra ... pronounced without the D ... (but still known as Ingrid, I know, it's confusing ...)

Welcome to my world ... a journal of our Sea Change ... Mum to three wonderful children ... bringing up a daughter with a disability and seeing life through her eyes ... being a new Nanna ... photos ... inspiring quotes ... taking on a cookery course ... the odd recipe ... and trying to get some stitching done amongst all this ...
