Close up from a pic on my new shelves below...
Wow...on Friday I came home with JoJo to 2 envelopes...one for each us!!!
What a wonderful unexpected surprise from Bev over at Kainga Happenings

Machine embroidered...all ready to turn into something special...mmm thinking of a "Royal Cushion'...maybe even make it my logo!!!

a lovely card with the words...
Dishes done, papers read, children snuggled into bed
Hours past the setting sun -
I count my blessings...one by one

Very apt seeing we live near the sea!!!
Thank you so very much dear Bev...we are both completely over the moon with your generosity!!! We raved about these all weekend!!!

And to follow on from a previous post about our sewing area my Hubby over the weekend finished these shelves...here they are all nicely organized to start with...we'll see how long they stay that way...

A full pic of the Dresden Plate table mat purchased at the Craft Fair last week...can't resist those warm Autumn colours...

On a visit up to the big smoke recently I came across some flaked chocolate from Koko Black...the pack came complete with a recipe for Hot Chocolate...

100ml each of milk and thickened cream
50g Koko Black Dark Chocolate Flakes
sugar and chilli powder (optional)

Pour the milk and cream into a cup and stir to blend, heat 90 seconds approx
or alternately warm on stovetop
Whisk in chocolate flakes, sugar as desired and 1/4t chilli
Stir thoroughly...relax and enjoy
How easy is that...now I think I'm off to try this on this chilly evening!!!

Windmills...and an Apron!!!

Thank you everyone for your get well wishes over the weekend...JoJo was tickled pink...and we are both on the mend now...
And also many thanks to Annabelle for my gorgeous new banner...I am loving it!!!
If you get a chance do go on over and check out her dreamy blogs...

Whilst we took it easy over the weekend...Hubby in the background making cups of tea for us I took out some fabric I had and thought I would make an apron for JoJo...blue is her favourite colour...and when we lived in the country she became enchanted with windmills!!!
Windmills are a typical scene in the Australian countryside...gently spinning in the breeze...
Along with the good ol' water tank!!!
Sewing the bias binding on...

On the ironing board...

Just about there...

One happy JoJo with her apron on!!!
She loves to see herself on my blog so I reckon she'll be coming back to this a few times!!!

And to finish off...here is the little windmill we bought for her at a country show some years back!!! She used to spin the top and play along with Wheel of Fortune when it was on the telly!!! Pretty ingenious we thought!!!

Welcome To My World

Hello, my name is Dzintra Ingrid ... have been known as Ingrid and since our Sea Change I have started to use Dzintra ... pronounced without the D ... (but still known as Ingrid, I know, it's confusing ...)

Welcome to my world ... a journal of our Sea Change ... Mum to three wonderful children ... bringing up a daughter with a disability and seeing life through her eyes ... being a new Nanna ... photos ... inspiring quotes ... taking on a cookery course ... the odd recipe ... and trying to get some stitching done amongst all this ...
