Bah! Humbug! Day...Snowflakes are falling...

Well after a total lack of cardmaking this week due to working long days and sleeping over I am pleased to say that I actually managed to create my card for our new challenge at Bah! Humbug!  This week we are focussing on snowflakes.  Always a winner on a Christmas card as they are so beautiful both as embellishments or the focal point of a card.

Materials used...
  • The very last piece of my favourite snowflake DP which was originally sent to me by my blogging friend Elaine so I really don't know the make.  I used it to cover the base of the card and also to form a backdrop for the embossed vellum
  • Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder used on vellum
  • Sentiment stamp by Rubbadubbadoo - stamped on to DP under vellum (much easier to read in real life than appears on photo)
  • Clear gemstones to embellish embossed piece and centre of punched snowflakes
  • Snowflake punches in two sizes
  • white card embossed using Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder
Don't forget to pop over to Bah! Humbug! to see what amazing cards my team mates Irene and Max have created and hopefully join in too.  It never fails to amaze me how many wonderful cards everyone enters each week and they seem to be getting better and better. This Christmas is going to be a breeze for us all.
Have a great holiday weekend everyone.

The Pink Elephant Day...

and maybe quite a sad one as after being a DT member since the very beginning of The Pink Elephant I have decided that at the moment I just haven't got enough time to do justice to being on the team.  I'm really sad to go as all the girls on the team are so lovely as well as being ultra talented, but sometimes something has to give.  I've decided that I want to take a break and concentrate on other things - new job - new challenges, etc.
Anyway enough of being slightly morbid and on to this week's challenge which is a colour challenge and as you can see from my card our colour theme is

'COOL AQUA'.

Silly me chose a paper to match the cool aqua Promarker pen and then ended up paper piecing Tilda's dress - hmmmmm just the daft sort of thing I'm doing at the moment.  Those hormones have a lot to answer for - I'm gonna swing for the one that turns the heating on full blast in the middle of the night.  That really is no joke!

Materials used...
  • Magnolia Tilda in party dress - one of my first Tilda stamps and I still love her
  • Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder
  • Nesties
  • Cuttlebug tag die
  • small sentiment for Popcorn the Bear stamp set
  • Aqua patterned paper and pearlescent card from stash
Challenges...
Have a great start to the week everyone.  I've just returned home from work to find that yet again my scheduled post didn't work - really strange it was okay when I left it, but changed to a draft when my back was turned - weird!!
