The Pink Elephant Easter Blog Hop...
At long last our fun weekend is here and we are all so excited. If you didn't arrive here from the Pink Elephant Tip Room, you will want to go to The Pink Elephant and start from the beginning.
You won't want to miss the fun things that everyone has to share! Some of the DT are offering blog candy too!
To celebrate the start of our fun weekend I have created an Easter Card using a combination of the Messy Rabbit rubber stamps by Joanna Sheen, Magnolia, some small Easter eggs stamps and butterfly from my stash.
My card is intended to be sent to a little one and the inside of the card has a message saying...
'Messy Rabbit loves Easter Eggs
Can you find all his eggs in his garden?
How many can you find?
To create my card I used my Cricut to cut out a grass border which made a real fun way to semi hide the Easter Eggs. The background is sky effect card by Kanban.
Now to celebrate our fun weekend I have some sweet blog candy to give away to one lucky person - a cupcake clear stamp set by Hero Arts. I have this set myself and it is so useful.
To be in with a chance of winning I would like you to leave a comment here telling me who your favourite rabbit character is and why.
If I spot your name on the Pink Elephant at any time over the weekend I will put your name into the hat twice - oooooooooooh two chances of winning. Good luck everyone.
I will announce the winner on Monday so do call back to see if you have been lucky.
After you are done on my blog, be sure to hop over to Trudi's blog The Pink Petal to see what she is sharing!!
Easter Blog Hop...
There is going to be...
Loads of games and prizes - oh I so wish I could enter!!
Fantastic tutorials with great ideas to help you get ready for Easter.
And much more - I do hope you will find time to join in.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHELLEY...
This card is another take on the fabulous sketch I used earlier in the week by CPS - that sketch is really so user friendly. This card is an 8"x8" card and the style still works and was so easy to do. The purple star is the free stamp (using just the star part) from this month's Craft Stamper magazine and the multilayed stars and numbers were cut on the Cricut.

The letter A...
My card is an 'anytime card' for a friend and my inspiration came from my blogging friend Ann Whitfield who created a fun and friendship card around the letter A! You can take a peak at her card here.
It was Ann's fun and friendship idea that led me to think of using the A - and the friend's name and all the attributes that friend has that begin with A. Just a bit of sillyness really but also FUN I hope!!!
The text was computer generated and the letter A was cut on my Cricut. I must remember in future not to listen to the spell checker - we seem to have some strange spellings on the card!!
Mother's Day Decoupage...
The borders were made using the lattice die from one of the cuttlebug border sets. This one is my favourite from the set (hmmmmmm actually I quite like the floral ones too). I finished each of the borders of with a pearl trimmed bow.
My card is just right for the Mother's Day Challenge at the Lili of the Valley challenge and at Tanda Teasers. At the Mother and Daughters challenge we were asked to create a border. I hope my two lattice borders count for this.
At the ABC challenge we have reached the letter F and this time round the alphabet the team there want us to show flowers somewhere on our cards. Check out Mummy Ted's vase of tulips that were delivered with her breakfast in bed.

Infact this very weekend we are having a fun Easter Blog hop at the Pink Elephant Challenge - I do hope lots of people will join in as we have worked so hard to ensure it's a fun event for everyone. Loads of prizes too - wish I could enter!!!
Today's Easter card is a very simple one using an egg patterned paper from the Spring DCWV stack and a very cute chick stamp from a clear set of stamps by Woodware.

The Pink Elephant Challenge 6
I love buttons on cards and I especially love how they look with ribbon threaded through the centre and then tied in a knot. So for my contribution this week I decided to create a card with a floral focal point featuring a button and ribbon in the centre.
I created my flower using my Cricut Expression machine. Each section of the flower was cut a quarter of an inch larger than the previous one. I wanted to create depth on the flower and I also wanted each layer to show a little of the layer below - especially the silver layer.
Each part of the flower was embossed using the Swiss Dots folder and then I attached thick foam pads the outer edge of the flowers.
By attaching foam pads to just the outer edge of the petals it means that when the brad is attached in the centre the flower is pulled in just like a real one. The outer edge of the petals remain very much in 3D.
To finish the flower I added a lilac button to match the Kanban floral paper used to create the background.
I also used my Cricut to cut silver leaves to attach under the flower leading the eye into the centre (hopefully).
The layout of the card is taken from the amazing sketch that was the featured challenge at Card Positioning Systems last week. I was too late to enter their challenge, but I love the sketch. It's amazing and so useful. I have seen some fabulous work by both the team there and others that entered the challenge.
I used border peel offs on my lilac card and on my yellow sunshine version featured below to capture the swirl on the sketch. On both cards I have used backing papers by Kanban - I really like the positive and negative effect on these papers.
I can't believe it is already week 6 at the Pink Elephant. We have seen such amazing work over the past few weeks from everyone entering our challenges. Hoping it continues long into the future.
Don't forget it's the Easter Blog Hop on Friday (well very late Friday - probably Saturday morning for us here in the UK). We have some fantastic prizes and great games going on - don't miss the fun.
