Every week I enter the challenge at Pixie's Snippets Playground and this week I used the snippets left from my Valentine card to make a birthday card, but oh no... I forgot to take a photo before posting the card!
What a dipstick? However, all is not lost as I have this little altered note book that I haven't blogged yet and it was created using snippets of green card left over from other projects so fortunately I can still frolic in the playground. The image was stamped using a lovely set of stamps by Inky Doodles that I had bought for Christmas and the sunflower is one of my first attempts at using paperclay. Love that stuff.

I don't like sending cards late so when I slipped up with a couple of birthdays this week I sent digital cards by email to arrive on the day and backed them up with a little gift in the post. The gift didn't arrive on time but hopefully my friends will forgive my dippyness and still be my friend. Don't want to end up 'going down the garden eating worms'.
So here's a picture of the two little gifts I sent out. Ribbon holders! I did something similar a long time ago a - see the post here and I did a couple with faces at the top but I can't find the post.
The butterflies were stamped and then coloured with Promarkers and blinged with gems. I used a circle punch to cut a half circle where the ribbon needed winding round. All in all I was quite pleased with the result and I've heard back from my friends who loved them.

Have a fabulous day.

How has this stamp been in my Penny Black drawer for so long and not been inked up? I just love the way the birds are holding the heart of flowers - so cute. I did attempt to colour the image using Promarkers, but somehow it just wasn't gelling so I revert to something I haven't used for ages - Lyra crayons. Oh my! I had forgotten how good they are and really enjoyed myself actually painting the bear. The sentiment is also by Penny Black. The paper is a really sparkly one and I've added gems everywhere to really make the card sparkle even more. Unfortunately cameras are not particularly good at catching the effect of sparkle on our projects so you'll have to use your imagination a little.
My card was created with the following challenges in mind...

I am such a dipstick. I keep leaving it too late to post cards for people's birthdays and end up sending a digital card on the day and a little gift later. No good sending a birthday card after the event. It's not that I forget the birthday it's just I leave things so late that Royal Mail don't stand a chance at getting the card there on time. Anyway at least with email and digital stuff you can at least send a birthday wish.
This card was created in Serif Craft Artist using the digi kit Darling Buds Roses with some extras from other kits. At some stage I may seperate the elements and print them out to make a real card with lace on and ribbon. I think it would look stunning.
Challenges ...
Have a great week.

The challenge over at CD Sunday this week is a 'ribbons and bows' theme which is handy as I've just finished this digital card for a good friend of mine. I've had a visitor staying this week so haven't been able to do any real paper crafting but did manage to sneak a little time on the laptop while she was watching the soaps. Created in Serif Craft Artist using the Fizzy Moon with friends digi kit and some extra embellishments from kits by Ann Whitfield. It's funny but no matter how many digi kits I have I always find the little embellishments on Ann's kits so useful.
