Purple Flowers...

A card I made using one of the fantastic sketches from the Stampin Out Alzheirmer's event. There is still time to donate to this worthy cause and take part in the events over there.

Jen Tapler, the creator of Paper Craft Planet, organised the event and had a goal of raising $5,000 - that figure has been smashed and the total is now way over $6,000. It would be great to reach $10,000 by Sunday night when the event closes.

It really is great fun with a purpose - so pop over there and donate $5 (£3.23 using Paypal for us Brits). There are loads of sponsors who have been so generous donating loads of things to both pick up for free and also prizes to win. I just love the cupcake template freebie - I really must give that go this weekend.

Anyway sorry for rambling back to my card which is also for the challenges at:
  • ABC Challenge - the letter P for pearls (used on the Martha Stewart punched border, on the flower centres and top left of image)
  • Creative Inspirations - favourite stamped image (now this was a tough one to decide, but I do love this Magenta stamp and it is one that you can do so much with so I think it will be one of my favourites for years to come.)
  • Cute Card Thursday - Bit o' Bling (pearls again although I tend to think of bling as being more sparkly than pearls so if I get time I will do a sparkly one too. Cute Card Thursday is one of my favourite challenges.)

Materials used:

  • Magenta stamp
  • Promarkers
  • Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder
  • Martha Stewart border punch
  • Purple papers and pearls from stash

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend everyone.

Tilda is back...

Seems like ages since I used this Magnolia image and it's one of my favourites. I don't really know who the card is for, but I seem to have made loads recently with the 'Happy Everything' sentiment by Making Memories. It's just right for 'anytime' cards and I'm sure one of my friends will like it.

Challenges:
  • Papertake Weekly - 'Use your scraps' - I hadn't actually intended to use scraps when I started this card, but I pulled out a Making Memories paper pad to use and found lots of bits in from the last card I made. The Swiss Dots border was already embossed and had obviously been cut off a larger piece and the plain lilac background actually has two holes in it underneath all that matting and layering.
  • Sunday Cutie Sunday - provided the fabulous sketch.

Materials used:

  • Making Memories - Emma card pack
  • Magnolia Tilda stamp
  • Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder
  • Cricut flowers (Schoolbook Cartridge)
  • Woodware leaf punch
  • gem brads and white card from stash

Vintage lady with rose...

Isn't this dreamy lady smelling a rose just beautiful? The image is one taken from a collection of 4 designs on an A4 sheet by Kanban and each of them are rather special. Strangely enough as I was making this card my dear friend Irene was also using one of the images on the same day - spooky!!

If you would like to see Irene's card please visit her at All Occasions, Cards, Papers and More - she has used one of the other images in the set and made a really wonderful card.

My card is for the challenge 'Vintage' at the One Stop Craft Challenge.

Materials used:
  • Kanban image and Kanban roses backing card
  • plain coloured matching card from stash
  • cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder
  • Cricut used to cut flowers (schoolbook cartridge)
  • Woodware leaf punch
  • ribbon, pearls and paper rose from stash

Black and white flower silhouette...

I adore the sketches at Mojo Monday. Every week there is a stunning layout to follow, but this week is a specially important one as it is also doubling up as a challenge on the Stampin' Out Alzheimer's (SOA) event.

If you haven't heard anything about this please check it out. It's a very special event organised by Susannah Boyd to raise funds to stamp out Alzheimers. You can see a video by Susannah about the event at Paper Craft Planet .

There are masses of things going on at the SOA event including freebies (oooooooooh love those), giveaways, discount at various stores and great competitions. Don't miss out as the whole thing is only taking place for a short time - so if you want to join in please donate and sign up now.

My card is also for the challenge set by my friend Cynthia at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog. This week Cynthia wanted us to think black and white with a silhouette stamp in the design. I do hope my silhouette flower by Hero Arts will be acceptable.

An award...

This morning I received this lemonade stand award from a very talented lady. I you haven't visited Torico at Stamparadise then go and look right now - Torico hand carves her own stamps and then does the most amazing cards with them.

Thank you so much Torico for thinking of me, especially as this award is one to say thank you to bloggers who show great attitude and gratitude. I believe I've received and passed on this award before so I won't list names, but to anyone visiting my blog and leaving such kind comments please feel free to snag the lemonade stand for your blog if you would like it.

New Beginnings...

A new baby card using my new Sizzix embossing folders - love these sets that Sizzix have brought out. I bought the baby collection which contained a large embossing folder, a medium sized pram embossing folder and two small folders which included this 'Bundle of Joy' and a bib folder.
My card is for the challenges at:

Materials used:

  • Sizzix embossing folders
  • blue, white and silver mirri card from stash
  • Cricut (school book cartridge) to cut out flowers and hearts
  • buttons, silver trim and peel offs from stash
