No cards for a few days...

I'm going to stay with my dear friend Irene.

I'm still going to be around and checking out my favourite blogs, but won't be posting till Monday when of course it's Pink Elephant day.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Happy Birthday...better late than never!

Oh dear I was a couple of days late with this birthday card for the daughter of my blogging friend, Max, so I stamped a 'happy day' on the front instead of 'happy birthday'.

It's a really simple card, but I love pink and black together and I thought the image from Charmed Cards and Papercrafts was pretty cool for a 14 year old.

Now that the card has (hopefully) been received I can enter it for the challenges at...

Stamp with fun - Birthdays (including belated birthday cards hopefully!)
Three Clovers - Super Summery (well T-shirt and i-pod has got to mean a hot summer's day really).

Birthdays...

Another male birthday card! I seem to have had quite a few of them to make recently and like everyone else I get that sinking feeling whenever I'm asked for one or I have one to make to send.

I think it's the thought of no flowers - no ribbon and perhaps no bling - sigh - men no taste! LOL.

Anyway I was asked to make a birthday card for a gentlemen who was about to celebrate his 7oth. It was tricky because I had no clues as to whether he was fisherman, golfer or anything. I decided to use this image from Joanna Sheen's 'Fashion Boutique' CD. There are some fantastic images on there and quite of them are suitable for men's cards.

I like black and silver together and alongside some matting and layering I used a cuttlebug border die to do the trellis type border along the base of the image. I actually put some black bling on there too, which you might just be able to make out in the picture.

I'm entering this card into as many challenges as possible, because I seem to have got way behind lately and feel like I have deserted the challenges I love so...

Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog - 'S' - Smoking!! (Hey I'm grasping at straws here - bear with me!)

The Allsorts Challenge - Vintage

Pile it on - no patterned paper and at least one other challenge involved

Happy Birthday Tony...

Yeah as well as being Pink Elephant day it's my friend Irene's husband's birthday today too!

Good job the challenge at the Pink Elephant this week is ...

turquoise - brown and neutral

LOL - some colour combinations might not have been quite so suitable!!

Think this ought to be called a 'gadget' card as I've used so many machines on it - Cuttlebug folders - Swiss Dots and the Happy Birthday one and my Cricut to do the star shapes and the lettering.

I used a sketch from my collection and I think this one was a Mojo Monday one from way back. I really love their sketches and use them over and over again. I've added a patch of vellum over the words paper on the left hand side.

I love vellum over writing - it softens it beautifully and makes a great contrast (well not so much in the photo but in real life it does) between the vellum covered and the not covered paper.

Thank you so much to great friends who have become followers of my blog. Love having you around.
