H is for Halloween *Pink is Optional

Another new month another new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, Edna has gone overboard on her invitation to play along.

Kudos to Lee for the fabulous graphic.
As you see it is H is or Halloween *pink optional I usually make a pink Halloween card but I was just too excited with the snarky Halloween cat.

I have had all the components for the card but the background it seemed so daunting but with Saturday looming I needed to bite the bullet and git 'er done. I ink blended  spun sugar, villanous potion, uncharted mariner and black soot over a circle mask, bats are flat attached but the main image is elevated.

Picture to show the dimension.

The inside is finished with a computer generated verse and a scrap of patterned paper. (not sure I like it either, too late. lol)

I would like to add this to:

Water, Water Everywhere

Hello friends, family and followers, it's nice to have some warmer weather but not happy with the on and off again showers but in hindsight being from an agricultural part of the province the farmers need the rain, there was not enough snow this winter for the land to be ready for planting. I have no idea where the time has gone I can't believe it's May already but are you ready for a NEW challenge at Shopping Our Stash? Well here it is....Water, Water Everywhere!! Create a card with a LARGE body of water like and ocean, lake or river.  Here is the route I went.

I made a Stampscapes scene on watercolour paper, I must admit this was in my "basket" I wasn't particularly happy with it when I did it a long time ago but picking it up multiple times when surfing my basket of "stuff" it didn't look half bad so I decided to put it to use for this challenge. And besides being a stamp set I bought many years ago the finished product is ancient too.  I decided it was good to have a generic masculine card in my stash.

Inside is partially finished and will be great for either a get well or birthday card, it could be used for a retirement card as well, always good to have "anything" cards.

I'm adding this to:

Holiday Cards to Die (Cut) For.....

Intriguing caption for the newest challenge at the Jingle Belles and I have so many sets of dies that have never seen cardstock I could have used  more if I could find time.  I will apologize first for the less than stellar photos but here is my card.

This is a 5.5 square card, unknown patterned paper (I think it might be the last piece. The bow is die cut out of green and gold shiny posterboard, and as I said the photography is not the best.

Finished the inside with a couple of scraps of patterned paper and a sentiment.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge ~~ Decembere.

Welcome to the December Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge and if you have read the main blog you will already know that the challenge blog will be on an extended hiatus. Check the main blog for all the information. So here is my final offering for the challenge.

As you see the challenge is Anything Goes with the option of Festive Animals and who doesn't love critters all dressed up for the Holidays

I do love my House Mouse images and use them any time I get a chance and this little critter is so adorable with his "berry" nose and branches for antlers. I used the "Softly Falling EF: from Stampin'up for the background and a snowflake circle from Memory Box.  The jury is out on whether I am putting a sentiment on the frond, perhaps a small silver sentiment as not to take away from the focal point, What do you think?

I finished the inside with the sentiment that went with the image which is a Stampendous Clear Mini stamp set (I have quite a collection, Christmas and more.)  I added a couple of pieces of the glitter scraps and a sticker snowflake.

I am entering this in:

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful December.

I'm living the Embossable Dream.

Here I am with card #3 for the challenge at the Jingle Belles, I might not get a 4th done (I was trying to catch up since I missed (avoided) the sticker challenge, Lauren and Stephanie use stickers and they look awesome I use sticker and guess what, it looks just like stickers on a background, but I did want to keep up with my 2 cards for each challenge.

Surprise it's not a house mouse card, but I sure took myself out of my comfort zone and I love it!!
I used the Brick Wall embossing folder from Sizzix (Stampin'up) on watercolour paper to look like a brick wall, then cut 2 diecuts of Gina Marie leaf wreath die and flat attached. The sentiment die is from Elizabeth Craft Desgns and was flat attached as well, The bow is popped up. I also added some Starform glitter dots. to the wreath.

Finished the inside with an Impression Obsession sentiment and a scrap of green along with some die cut berries and a bow.

I'm adding this to:

ABC Christmas Challenge ~~ C and D (I chose D is for Dies)

My Sweet "Embossable" You!!

I'm back again with the second card using and embossing folder for the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge.  I do plan on a bit of a catch-up as I didn't get the 2 done for the last challenge (life gets in the way of crafting_  Again I used a House Mouse Designs stamp, I have a lot of them in my collection and are my favourite to colour.

I hope you sang the sentiment, pretty hard not to LOL. First I smooshed 3 shades of blue distress oxide ink on to watercolour paper I embossed it with Gently Falling Sizzix embossing folder from Stampin'up. first pass through I had the paper in wrong so turned it over and ran it through again, seems to give it more texture. I stamped and coloured the house mouse image and fussy cut it, added snowdrifts to set the knit boot in/ The sentiment is a die cut from Elizabeth Craft Deigns. Scalloped layer is cut with a Elizabeth Craft Designed scalloped square die set.

Finished the inside with a generic sentiment and scraps of cardstock.

I'm adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by today this is my second card for the "Embossable" challenge and there is still a bit of time to get at least one more done. Have a crafty day!!.

Mission "Embossable"

What a great challenge at the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge Blog ~~ My Sweet "Embossable" You, It gave me the oomph to use my embossing folders, I would like to try new techniques with them and since tomorrow is "Family Day" a provincial holiday I might just try one, Stephanie inspired me with her Faux Patina technique from Splitcoast Stampers. Well on to my card I am a couple of cards shy this month I did miss the last challenge, so I'm hoping to double up with this one.

For this card I used a super cute house mouse designs stamp, I made the ombre background with three shades of distress oxide inks and embossed it with the cable knit embossing folder from stampin'up by Sizzix. The sentiment is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Finished the 5.5 inch square card with a Stampendous cling mount stamp and a scrap of teal cardstock.

I'm adding this to:

Thanks for visiting today and I really need to step it up or I will be in chaos in November.

Keeping with my "list" I made a card for Rudolph days, I managed to get 5 holiday catds done in January. I need to keep up so I have enough cards for everyone in December. Rudolph days you only post 1 card on the Challenge.

First time using the wreath die, it also has a circle die so you can cut the wreath out. I used blue metallic poster board and white shimmer cardstock for my layers and a lovely bow die cut with a starform glitter dot in the center.

Just GOOGLE it!!!

Are you ready for a really fun challenge? Sure you are!! Shopping Our Stash #482 is Just Google it!! so lets dig out those googlie eyes and create. I had the perfect image printed I don't know the digi artist but I will search.  When I saw the challenge I thought perfect, oh my I think I gave away my googlie eyes but I checked my craft tackle box (from my finger puppet days) and there were 4 sizes and even coloured one.  so here is my card for the challenge.

Plaid paper on my table, was my inspiration for the design, it's a Triangle Easel Card, when I'm in a hurry I find this fold is fast, just be accurate on the cutting

Close up of the super cute Christmas owl, those are the largest of the googlie eyes I have and they fit perfect.

This card is a 5 1/2 inch square card and folds flat for mailing. I did put a sentiment on the inside behind the folded triangle.
Oh yes my stash busting was just about everything to make this card with the exception of the die cut Tis' the Season. The Googlie eyes are probably 25 years old.

There you have seen my project for Just Google It now get busy and add yours to the gallery, it you want lots more inspiration head over to the MAIN BLOG and check out the rest of the design team's projects.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge ~~ October

Time for a new Christmas challenge at Happy Little Stampers, it's always Anything Goes but the option for October is Frame.

Even though I was making a design team card I got my inspiration from the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge which the current one is a really great sketch and has frames. "bonus"

I picked a super cute digital image from  Bugaboo Stamps (no longer in business) and designed a 5 1/2 inch square card around the sketch, the plaid cardstock is very shiny and hard to photograph. I hadn't decided on a sentiment for the front yet.

I added  a couple of circles of heavy cardstock to elevate the image a bit. The ornaments were coloured with spica glitter pens.

I carried the plaid/red theme to the inside and used a favourite Hero Arts sentiment stamped with memento Red.

I am adding this to:

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge ~~ May Edition

As always the challenge is anything goes but this month there is an option to use a House. I imediately thought of a Gingerbread house so I pulled out my gingerbread house set and made a scene.

The background was one of my practice gelli press backgrounds which I though worked well for the wintery looking sky the house and gingers were cut out of Crumb Cake, I added a red roof and then the snow layer. I also added glitter clouds.

Close up of one of the gingerbread men and the the cute tree which is popped up/

Here is a better look at the roof and wreath, I layered 3 green diecuts and added the Starform glitter sticker dots.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out the rest of the cards that the design team have made to inspire you.

Have you ever seen a Holiday Narwhal?

I have two Holiday Narwhals for you today. I love to enter the Jingle Belles Christmas challenge and I have been a little slack the last two challenges, not that I didn't have ideas just no time to execute them. The challenge is Oh Christmas Stencil, Oh Christmas Stencil, well I don't have much in the line of Christmas Stencils and I am a "newbie" at stencils so don't look too close.  Since I planned on using my Christmas/Holiday narwal stamp and die I used a "bubbles" stencil fit the 5 1/2 square perfectly.

The cute narwhals are popped up on some waves I made with a piece of smooshed cardstock and a rectangle die. there is one flat attached and one popped up to "ground" the narwals. I added a night of navy narrow frame for interest.

Closer look at the narwhals and the wave as well as my stenciling.

Finished the inside with a scrap of navy and did a bit of stenciling around the Impression Obsession sentiment.

Time for a NEW Challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!

Hello fellow crafters, it's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and the theme is Full Metal Jacket.....use something metal on your project, metallic cardstock, a charm, wet embossing with one of the metal embossing powders.  I went with the easy one, making a metal car.

I haven't used this die set in a long time and I quite often check to see when I used it last by going through my blog and I have never blogged a card made with this set, but I'm sure I have made one or perhaps I've only cut the images. The patterned paper is from Dollarama bought probably 5 years ago, the 12 X 12 pad was all B&W. The car and sentiment were cut twice from black heavy cardstock and once in gold posterboard and glued together for dimension. The card is a 5 1/2 inch square card. I thought it looked a little blah so I added as thin gold frame.

Close up angled picture to show how the image is elevated.

Finally I finished the inside with a "old" sentiment and a few scraps of the paper.

I am entering this in:

AAA Birthday ~~ Game #34 Pattern.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the MAIN BLOG to see what the rest of the team have done with the theme.

Pink Christmas installment #2

Back again with another Pink Christmas Card for the Jingle Belles Challenge, for every Pink Christmas card posted on the blog both Lauren and Stephanie donate $2 to breast cancer research. I am a bit behind my usual cards but there is still until Wednesday October 20 at 6 p.m. EDT. I have been known to slide in at 5.55 p.m

Well I might as well tell you this is a "sort" of cheat card, Fluffles was already coloured and the papers were picked and cut for a 5 1/2 inch square card and put aside to finish when I had some time. . I started out with pink die cut sentiments but after they were glued on you really couldn't see them so I cut another set and glued them on top, it also gave them some dimension.

Well I couldn't resist a close up of Fluffles, lets hope it's nothing breakable.

Finished off the inside with a Stampendous holiday sentiment and a few scraps of patterned paper.
