Jingle Belles Challenge take #2

I was working on the slimline cards for the challenge last weekend at the cottage but there were more pressing items to craft. I'm hoping I can get my mojo back. I have a new crafting desk which of course is not organized as well as it should be, it will take some time to find the right spots for things. It has a hanging file folder drawer that holds my cardstock scraps. Now on to my second mini slimline card for the Jingle Belles challenge.

Since the glitter cardstock was still out I backed the Santa scene die cut with it for a twinkling night sky, I did a partial circle cut to make a navy layer for my image. The white layer was embossed with the Gently Falling folder and does have some star dust stickles on a few of the dots, doesn't seem to show up well. Then it was layered on navy and then a white cardbase,

finished the inside with a large Merry Christmas and a few scraps of the glitter cardstock.

Thanks for checking back again, now I have two more holiday cards.

Last Day to Enter Rudolph Days.....

Wow again I'm flying in at the last day for the April Rudoph Days, you know the challenge is every month on the 25th to the end of the month so I've had 25 days to make a card but here I am racing to get it done for the last day. I have been working on it and it wasn't going as expected and it is still not finished. Under the image is a blank spot.....that is where the Merry Christmas die cut was to go, I thought I found the die on my table so cut it out and went to attach it to the card and realized Happy Birthday just didn't cut it, then the search is on, finally I decided I needed to get the card on the challenge  so just pretend you see a very nice Merry Christmas in blue. I'm sure as soon as I have blogged this and I'm looking for something else the die will appear.

It certainly looks better IRL, I've had the die for over a year and finally found some time to play with it, I diecut white foam core so it pops up a bit, found a background I made for an ATC and after trimming it was a perfect fit. The EF I used is probably 20 years old it was my first folder and I won it on a give-away before I even had a machine to use it in.

Finished the inside with a Hero Arts sentiment (won at the Jingle Belles Challenge last year)  It has become my very favourite sentiment for horizontal cards. And a few scraps of leftover cardstock from the front.

It's Vintage time at the Jingle Belles.

I love the vintage challenge at the Jingle Belles, I had 4 of my vintage stamps out on the table to use for this challenge, with each day that went by one of them had to be deleted from the line-up and with today being the last day I was down to one simple stamp.  That simple stamp turned into a production but I'm happy with the results. Simple but nice.

I'm sure 98% of you stampers recognize the stamp, Santa Collage from Rubber Stampede circa 2003. I used several older dies, Spellbinder large and small ovals, scalloped oval, and fancy oval, along with the textile embossing folder. I used Very Vanilla and gold papers.

The sentiment is from Stampendous and I added the embossing folder around a shim that has an oval space in the center. I think I've used it once before.

It's another Santa Baby Card for the Jingle Belles....

As I said I was going to try  to get a second card done for the Jingle Belles Rock challenge. It will be a quick post as I'm on a time schedule today.

When I got the "sneak" preview on Facebook of the new sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches I knew it worked for the image I had coloured on the weekend,  Although with limited supplies (no sentiments) I managed to work with the sketch. The image is from Bugaboo Stamps, paper and sentiment are from a paper pack, lace from the dollar store.

Close up of the sentiment and the leaf/grass die cut.

Santa Baby!!!

The Jingle Belles are featuring Santa for this challenge.  I just managed to squeeze one in on the weekend while at the cottage, I'm hoping there is time on Wednesday to pop another one in.

It would have been much better if I had more basic dies...note to self pack some circles.  I went with a hot weather Santa from Bugaboo stamps, isn't he a cutie, I'm not sure if he is vacationing or just a quick stop on his midnight run, he sure looks like he is having a fun day at the beach.

Since there were limited supplies (I must organize better) I have no sentiment stamps or dies with me so the inside will be finished when I get home.

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Spirit of Christmas Past

Since the Jingle Belle's challenge has a specific theme and it's one I love but for some reason this year I am struggling with Vintage!!! There is a prize too and if you don't have anything vintage there are two downloads from Lauren's personal stash.  I started with plan "A" but soon went to plan "B" and I like it much better. Lots of layers and fancy stuff it's certainly not CAS or DAB.

One of my favourite Christmas stamps it is called Santa Collage and is from Rubber Stampede I do believe I bought it eons ago on a trip to the U.S. at Target. I guess I had stamped it last year as it was in my box of stamped images, bonus, I did a bit of colouring on it cut with spellbinders ovals, the gold embossed paper was on my table beside the cutter and thought oh that would look good. So three layers of plain ovals, one scalloped and a fancy oval die cut. I embossed the scalloped rectangle with the Textile cuttlebug folder. It was too pretty to put a sentiment on it.

The image and 3 layers is popped up with fun foam and attached to the fancy oval.

Since we are going vintage I used a very vintage sentiment from the Artful stamper it might be older than the Santa Collage.

Count Down to Christmas......

Challenge #314 at Shopping Our Stash is Count Down to Christmas!!!  Let's get a jump start on the Holiday season. Since I'm shopping my stash I uses a very "antique" stamp it's a PSX/Santa Rosa dated 1999 and one of my oldest and favourite "St. Nicholas" stamp.

I'm not sure why but the green copic didn't work well on the greenery it just seemed to sit on top of the cardstock and I used the same as I always use.

Finished inside

Other than the two older stamps I used all scraps from the scrap folder for my card.

Here comes Santa Claus.......

The jolly old fella is making his appearance at the Jingle Belle's Challenge!! Only a couple of days left to get this posted too.  Last Friday Lauren's card inspired me to dig out several dies that haven't seen a lot of action.

The Sleigh and reindeer are Marianne Designs (Creatables) The snow is an unbranded die and the fir trees are from Impression Obsession, I layered the sleigh and reindeer to give dimension. Since this was a "Santa" challenge I added the Santa hat brad (eyelet outlet store) to make it  appear as if Santa is driving the sleigh.

I also added an Eyelet Outlet tiny red rhinestone from a package of swirly bling to Rudolph's nose.

Finished the inside with scraps left over from the front of the card,  and a very appropriate sentiment.

Challenges I would like to enter;

Jingle Belles Rock Here comes Santa Claus

Cas-ual Fridays Dies only
Rudolph Days - July cutting it close.

Thanks for visiting on this last day of July and have a creative day!!!
