Shine on at the Jingle Belles Rock!!!

It's getting close to the end of this challenge at the Jingle Belles, I'm not doing well getting my Christmas stash started this year and I would really like to get two done for each prompt but it's not happening yet. The weather has been treacherous lately and I've had lots of "home" time but can't seem to get in my craft room for a long enough period of time. I'm in love with shiny, sparkly, glittery things so I knew what I wanted to do. Here is my offering for the challenge.

The base is 5 1/4 inch square, the ornament is cut out of shiny poster board from Dollar Giant, I layered it on glitter paper from Stampin'up. It is popped up with fun foam on a white background embossed with stampin'up gently falling embossing folder. Joy is cut out of same shiny silver.

Close up I coloured the glitter paper with a blue copic marker, it shows better IRL.

Finished the inside with a Artful Stamper sentiment I just scored at the local Goodwill store. I added the line of houses to carry the "house" theme to the inside.

I'm entering this in:

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ All that Glitters

Thanks for joining me here today and check out the challenge at the Jingle Belles.

It's Saturday and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers has a NEW Challenge!!

Two weeks have just flown by and here we are with a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, I hope this challenge is more to your liking than G is for Galaxy (it was a fun one). The  new challenge is T is for Tissue so get your thinking caps on and come up with a project using tissue on it. Check out the design team cards as they show you many different ways to use tissue.

I had plan A and plan B well plan A didn't even make it to the drawing board. This is a technique using tissue and a glue stick. First I coloured the image I embossed the black and coloured with copics that part is very important as once you rub the glue stick over the whole image any other colouring medium will run. The stamp I used is from the Artful Stamper and the die cut is an unbranded die.

The technique is Faux Silk and the close up shows it really does look like silk.

I finished the inside to look like the front with the frame, the sentiment is from the $2 bin at Michaels, another challenge with no snark.

Thanks for stopping by today and be creative this weekend.

Shopping Our Stash #279 ~~ Warm and Fuzzy

Shopping Our Stash Challenge is Warm and Fuzzy.....lots of choices here, warm hat/mittens, fireplace maybe a hot cup of cocoa....anything that makes you feel warm and fuzzy. Well my favourite thing that makes me feel warm and fuzzy is House Mouse!!! and I haven't used one in a while so I used a stamp I've had for probably a year and never seen ink, I have most of my Christmas cards made so here is my warm and fuzzy birthday cards.

Here is the first card using Concord grape and wisteria wonder. The embossing folder is from Stampin' up and I spritzed that layer with glitter spray.
Next using the same image.....

Which colour do you like best?
The sentiment is computer generated.

Both are finished the same with a sentiment from the Artful Stamper.

I would like to enter this in:
Seize the Birthday ~~ Anything goes and the topping is Presents optional.

Thanks for spending some time here today and I hope you find time to join in the fun at Shopping Our Stash for the Warm and Fuzzy Challenge.

R is for Resist ~~ Challenge #64 at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!!

Another fine challenge brought to you by The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!! R is for Resist!!! There are a lot of resist techniques out there.....crayon resist, glue resist, watercolour resist, chalk resist, versamark resist, emboss resist and I'm sure there are more. I decided one resist technique wasn't enough I tried two. The first one is Emboss Resist which I found on Stamp TV

To start off with I didn't have clear embossing powder with me at the cottage because I thought it was already here but I had white which is what I went with, in the video at Stamp TV memento inks were used with daubers, guess what I left home? yup the daubers and my coloured memento inks.  Well as I'm used to not having all my equipment here I used TH distress inks and bought sponges at the $$store when we were in town.

Close up of the white embossing powder on the image from the Artful Stamper

Since the sun hasn't come around to the deck yet I took the cards to the break-wall to take pictures.

Okay now on to the second resist technique,~~ Versamark Resist

Sorry the picture isn't as good as it should be, my camera kept shutting off "yapping" I need to change the batteries, but I kept plugging away. I am not sure who or where I saw this technique obviously I didn't save it,  I started with shiny paper, using another silhouette stamp from the Artful Stamper, I stamped in versamark watermark and allowed it to dry a couple of minutes then brayered TH tumbled glass distress ink over and over and over the image. Because it was very flimsy I layered it on a scrap of white and one of green and elevated it on the Walmart patterned paper and on a base. I thought it needed a little something more (as always) so added the silver dazzlers thin line border stickers from Hot off the Press.

Close up of the image.

Wow you made it to the end of a picture loaded post I hope you will try a new Resist technique, tell us what one you used and add it to the SoSS blog.  check out which resist techniques the rest of the design team have done.

Thanks for visiting and have an awesome day!!!

Drunken Stampers Challenge #101 Wild at Heart

DS101
It’s time for another Drunken Stampers Challenge, this week it is to use animal prints on your project.  This one was so easy for me, I had the perfect stamp from the Artful Stamper, they are a Canadian company from London, Ontario. If you have some time check out the great stamps and tutorials on using them.  One day while scouting deals at the farmer/flea market I found a package of animal print paper, it sure made the challenge easier . I even had a roll of ribbon to match.

Thanks for stopping by today to check out my card now it’s time for you to hop on over to the Drunken Stamper’s Blog and get out some animal print and join the challenge.

It’s a Blue Christmas

My favourite thing to do……..Monochromatic. I found the challenge at Drunken Stampers Challenge Blog. I did my card in shades of blue, the stamp I used I have had for a long while, it is from a Canadian Company that is very close to home here in South Western Ontario called the Artful Stamper. Go check it out they have great stamps and tutorials.  We were in London a couple of Saturdays ago at the Fairgrounds Farmer’s Market and one of the vendors had some great artwork and then I found out she was a designer for the Artful Stamper.
                          Monochromatic Blue
This stamp is great, use it with the frame or just use the snowman, I have also seen it layered. I stamped in Brilliance Mediterranean Blue, coloured with prismas and added some spica glitter pen to the scarf and hat, it sparkles in real life. Punched the snowflakes with my mini EK punch and added the bling.
Thanks for stopping by today and come back real soon I have a lot more to post in the next few days.
