Whatever The Weather.....

Welcome to my blog today to check out the new challenge at Shopping Our Stash, it's an easy one this time,  Whatever the Weather!! Lots of choices Snow, Rain, Cloud or any other weather related idea.  Since I am in full speed ahead Christmas card mode I chose SNOW. We have had our first preview of Winter I wasn't impressed with it so I would like to cancel the rest of my subscription/

I have had this Olaf die for hmm 2 years, it was still in it's packaging, I had to clip all those tiny dies apart and hope for the best, I cut 2 of Olof, 2 each of the twig arms so they were stable and I glued them inside the two diecuts as I wanted to put Olaf on a Wobble. Being in a hurry I could only find a large wobble so he really dances around. I smooshed the watercolour background and stenciled the snow with texture paste. Let it Snow is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Close  up of Olaf and the stenciled snow.

Finished the inside with a scrap of blue and a sentiment from High Hopes Stamps (a Canadian store)
this stamp is at least  years old.

I am adding this to:

NBUS ~~ Challenge #57

Cut it Up ~~ # use mor than one die  I used 2

Thanks for stopping by today , don't forget to check out what "weather" the rest of the team have picked.

It's Time for a NEW Challenge at Happy Little Stampers Christmas.

Oh my goodness we are in April already although Mother Nature is still pinging us here in Ontario with bits of snow, lots of wind throwing in some rain and freezing rain but as I write this it is sunny, for now.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas is Always Anything Goes but this month it's + optional: Glitter, everyone loves glitter don't they?

For my card I used a very, very old Hero Arts Sketch Snowman. Lots of sparkle, a layer of glitter paper, a scalloped oval out of glitter paper and the snow that's grounding the snowman which I fussy cut and would have been on an oxide background if I could have located it but looks good on the sparkly oval which was an awesome find at the local Dollarama, each page has a plain and a sparkly one, and it's the perfect size for mini slimline cards.

Oh yes along with the glitter paper I used spica glitter pens to colour "frosty"

Finished the inside with a Stampendous sentiment that goes along with another ancient snowman stamp and a bit of patterned paper left over from the front.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you will join the HLS Christmas challenge, it's always anything goes with an option, this time it's GLITTER.

Let It Snow!!!

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash, it's #458 and a Tic/Tac/Toe Board. How much fun is that. So many choices.

So many choices and the one I planned on doing didn't work out at all, but using the same 3 yo stamp I make made card using the center line, embossing folder, Stamps over 3 years old and a Slim line card, I made a mini slimline as it suited the snowman stamp I used. I did some searching as the stamp doesn't have a date on it and the first time I used it was in 2016. The embossing folder is Gently Falling from Stampin;up.

Let it Snow is from Elizableth Craft Designs and was die cut out of silver posterboar, some scraps of white for the snow hills and the tree is out of my "parts" box.

As I said I was going for another "line" which involved smooshing so I still used the smooshed background. You can see the embossing and the gorgeous silver sentiment.

More trees from the "parts" box and the sentiment is from Stampabilities 2005, it qualifies for over 4 years old too.

I'm entering this in:

Christmas Kickstart Challenge ~~  Christmas Snippits.

ABC Christmas Challenge ~~ W is for Whimsical

Pixie's Snippits Playground ~~ the trees, snowbanks, front and inside as well.

Cookies For Santa!

Cookies for Santa is the theme at the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge. it is an inspirational picture, now usually I don't go for them as there are usually too many things to pick from and I can't decide on which way to go with it but this time it was easy here is the  photo.

I love the look of these cookies and of course the non-traditional colours too. Here are my cookies.

As you see I chose to make sugar cookies with my favourited snowmen stamps from Sunshine Designs the company that made them is no longer in business but was from the Ottawa area. Because I wanted to use all 4 I made a 5 1/2 inch square card. The sentiment is popped up on 4 layers of heavy cardstock circles. I stamped coloured and fussy cut the snowmen so I could add them to the background that was made with distress oxide inks and a blending brush.

Finished the inside with scraps of paper and cardstock and a woodblock sentiment that has no company name on it, I have no idea where or when I bought it but it's cute to use with my snowman stamps.

I am entering this in:

It's Christmas in July at Shopping Our Stash!!

At Shopping Our Stash we are celebrating Christmas in July so dust off thos Holday stamps and dies to join us for the challenge. Don't forget to use up your stash while you are doing it.

My snowman is from Hero Arts and it's one of the first snowmen steamps I bought when I first started stamping, Let it Snow is from Elizabeeth Craft Designs which I cut twice, once in blue and once is very heavy weight white. The patterned paper is old, not sire when I bought it but it was a leftover piece that was left at the cottage from crafting last year.

Finished the inside with a a couple of stickers I found that were also left over from last summer at the cottage, along with a simple sentiment.

I'm adding this to:

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2020 Day 21

This is Day 21 of the 25 days of Christmas Tags, only 4 more days left and of course I haven't done all ot them yet, there are a few of the earlier days I just couldn't squeeze in the time.  Sponsor for the day is Studio Katia.  There were a lot of fabulous tags to choose from but I picked Lindey MP's tag. I'm just learning to blend with oxide inks and decided I could use the practice and it hadd a Snowman on it.

Again it's late and the photography isn't the best but I wanted to get it done tonight before I headed to bed. I used one of the 4 snowmen stamps from Sunshine Studios. Coloured his earmuffs and scarf and nose with spica glitter pens. The snow dots are made with one of the stamps from an old Snowflake set called Snow Spot from Stampin'up. I embossed them in white. Added a blue velvet ribbon, a scrap of gold cord and a couple of bells.

Here is Lindsey's tag.

I'm entering tis in:

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2020 ~~ Day 21

Sneaking in with another Pink Christmas card for the Jingle Belles Challenge.

I said it was a marathon, I've had one that didn't pan out and another in the works. I am really happy with this card, I made a slimline card, kinda getting into them lately, There is a Face Book page that you can put your creations on and the inspiration you get is awesome.  Well won't keep chatting I must remember the "timeline".

Not a pretty background, but they are a bit of a challenge to photograph, it's dull and wet outside today so I didn't want to take it outside. The snowwomen are a 4 stamp set from Sunshine Designs I use them a lot. Coloured and fussy cut added them to this tri-circle slimline die, I didn't have any sky oxide backgrounds on hand but found a piece of commercial smooshed cardstock.  Let it Snow is from Elizabeth Craft Designs and I really use it a lot too, it is cut twice from pink and once in glitter pink and layered for dimension.

Closer look at the snow-babes and the sentiment.

Another close-up of the sentiment and a snow-babe

Guess what! I found a winter sentiment I use for my snowmen/women cards, it's from High Hopes which is an online store from Ontario, Canada. And of course the 4th of the snowwomen stamps.

I'm adding this 4th card to:

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ I'm Dreaming of a Pink Christmas

Christmas Kickstart Challenge ~~ #40 Pink Christmas

Thanks for checking my Pink Christmas Card have a creative day!!

Stars or Stripes or Both?

It's Stars and/or Stripes Forever at the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge, and no it's not the last day of the challenge I'm a whole week early!!! I'm sure Lauren and Stephanie are going to be "shocked" It is such a fun challenge.

The stamp set I used is a very long retired Stampin'up set called (I think) Snow Much Fun. It has a tall snowman and a short chubby one.One of my favourite sets too. I used one of my oxide backgrounds that I had made for another challenge but it was over before I got a chance to play along.  I believe the star paper is from a Bo Bunny pack but I could be mistaken since I'm home and the things I used for this card are at the cottage. (will correct if I need to) Let it Snow is from Tim Holtz die set.

One of my favourite "snow" sentiments and it's from an Ontario stamp store, High Hopes Stamps. and a scrap of patterned paper.

I am entering this in:

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Stars and/or stripes forever

and

Christmas Kickstart Challenge ~~ #33 Hatty Christmas

Thanks for stopping by today and I have one more holiday card, how are you doing with your holiday stash?

Here Comes Suzy Snowflake!!!

At Shopping Our Stash this fortnight Chris is the hostess and is anticipating a lot of snowflake cards. We here in Southern Ontario haven't seen any snowflakes, a lot of really heavy frost on the roof-tops.  Around Lake Erie it's been very wild with wind and rain and the lake was furious, our cottage was high and dry even though we are only a couple hundred feet from the lake, we are very happy there is a block break-wall. Thats where I take the photos of my cards all summer. Anyway back to the challenge just add a snowflake or lots of snowflakes to you project, let us know what stash you use too.

It's a miracle that I got a card finished at all, I decided on Saturday to take a road trip to have Eggs Benny at a fav. place (only serve the first weekend of the month) then to the Good Bread Company to pick up a loaf of Squash/Raisin bread. A check of the cottage and a visit with neighbours and ending with a nice long visit with a fabulous lady. As you see I was gone most of Saturday well trying to craft on Sunday was a major chore with a 2 year old cat insisting she have never-ending attention. First I made my background then coloured the stamped image with Spica Glitter pens and fussy cut it out. The stamp I used is an long retired set from Stampin'up I embossed the background with one of the first folders I bought from Cuttlebug, snowflakes. Let it Snow is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Close up of the image and as you see I added a few rhinestones to centers of some of the snowflake die cut (which I can't remember who it is from)

Inside was completed with a snowflake border and a stampendous sentiment.

I'm entering this in:
Happy Little Stampers ~~ Watercolour Anything goes (optional animals)

It's Tic-Tac-Toe Time at the Jingle Belles!!!

It seems that I have been making this card for over a week, because I have. Last weekend I made the background, put together the "snowman" and made the frame then it was time to go back to our home and so it would have to wait until I was back at the cottage to finish it. So without more talk here it is.

I pieced the had and scarf but just coloured the birds, mitts and broom with spica glitter pens. I had a diecut foam core cloud on my table so added that to balance the scene The frame was made with Gina Marie wonky rectangles. The snowman die cut is also from Gina Marie.

Close up I put his top hat up on a pop dot.

The sentiment is from Stampendous (finally brought some to the lake)

I'm entering this in:

Jingle Belles ~~ Tic-Tac-Toe

Snowman/Red or Green/Diecuts (diagonal upper left to lover right)

Thanks for joining me here today and have a great week.
